    I hate to be in the spot where I defend the Celtics, but to their credit with a 64 win team and their cornerstone entering their prime years with plenty of playoff experience, I don't think the run would have been that different even if their opponents were at full health.

    Any team with an easy path is typically due to two reasons: one of the best if not the best team and your opponents injured players. You compete against who is in front of you. Sometimes life happens and hands you a bad day and sometimes life hands you an easy path through the playoffs. No one said an NBA championship was guaranteed. The FINALS won't be a cakewalk

    6:15 That's the most unspoken thing about the Celtics's run: they have not faced any BAD teams, just UNHEALTHY teams. All of their actual/potential opponents won between 46 and 50 games (the Knicks being the only 50-win team from that bunch), which is good for the conference they play in (spare me "if they were in the West" hypotheticals). They all could've won more games than they did if certain things had gone smoother for them during the regular season. The Celtics also have an injured key player (Porzingis)-not as important as some of their conference opponents, but still important to them. On top of that, the Celtics have a ton of playoff experience on their side (Tatum, Brown, Horford, Holiday, White, Porzingis, Tillman, Pritchard), so it's not like they haven't gone through tough situations in the postseason. It seems like the only way they will truly win this year, in terms of respect, is by winning the championship-in the eyes of their doubters, haters, and critics, at least. If they don't, their run will be questioned and ridiculed because of things out of their control, which is ridiculous. Considering the Mavericks are their impending opponent, that may be their unfair, yet harsh reality.

    Boston has won more games this year than any other team, they should have made the playoffs look easy. Back in the eighties the west was soft, from 80 to 90 only two teams won the west Lakers and Rockets twice, the Lakers wouldn't lose a game until the conference finals the west was so weak back then that below 500 teams went to the playoffs in the west, hey chances go round, so Boston had it easy this year , but back in the day the Lakers had a cakewalk for 10 years straight.

    To be fair the Celtics have also been missing Porzingus, albeit not to much but still, I would say one thing about the Pacers specifically, and really just how Tyrese was the difference. Without him the Pacers are still a solid team, with him running the offense they go to an entirely different level. And Pascal is no joke, he played really well in these playoffs and really helped the Pacers overcome the sum of their parts at times. It might be true this was an easy finals run, but it was already going to be that way regardless is the funny thing. I know it’s not supposed to always be about discrediting Boston but it seriously feels like that’s all people want to do. This is what was expected of them from the beginning, did anybody seriously think someone OTHER than the Celtics was winning the east this year? The answer to anyone with a right mind is no

    • @timisjim2711
      @timisjim2711 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Let me also add, let’s talk about the Bucks for a second. They started the season off pretty well,(until, ya know, Doc Rivers)but think about how Boston was always clearly a step ahead of Milwaukee all regular season, and when it came time to play the Pacers, it was almost ironic, because now they have Dame, who is a great player, but the holes in the perimeter defense from losing Jrue proved to be Milwaukees biggest weakness. Even though the Pacers also have a Swiss cheese for defense, Indiana just had a historically effective and pace heavy offense and did it well all year. Rick Carlisle, Hali, and the Pacers as a whole organization deserve some credit for how well their season went, and this is all coming from a Celtics fan, and I honestly wish Tyrese could’ve stayed healthy, as well as the rest of the stars that dropped this postseason, Brunson, Jimmy, Mitchell, etc. but as a fan I’m definitely ecstatic about this run through the east. Dallas will without a doubt be the biggest challenge.

    as a lakers fan, i cant help but feel bad for the celtics. they only lost 16 games this year, 18 if you count the playoffs, and yet those losses are all anyone talks about when it comes to them. they did what they were supposed to do and made it back to the finals, only for everyone to criticize how easy of a road it has been thus far. Now it's like theyre damned either way: either they beat the mavs and no one cares cause their path was too easy, or they lose and prove how fraudulent of a team they were all season. they literally cant win. just sucks to have done everything right and be bashed for something out of their control; its not their fault that other people keep getting injured.
