The Wolf is always fun to watch. Clinical style. No crazy punts as opposed to his buddy. Ethan's style keeps one on the edge of his seat. Good luck, guys. Bring us more fun contents.

hate to say i dont think ethan is very good. at cash at least

    • @Aspirahful
      @Aspirahful 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Wolf is way tighter than Ethan, He is always on the top of his range and is pretty nutted by showdown. If Wolf wants to get to the next level, he needs to mix in some bluffs.
If anybody is inspiring, it would be Mariano. That guy has excelled as a player ten folds since his arrival. Wolf is a great player though, no doubt.

@@Aspirahful Wolf is not even semi nit, semi tight. He is semi tight to semi moderate. And he sometimes 3 bets light, occasionally with marginal hands like QT suited, etc.
And he occasionally bluffs in very good spots, and picks his battles well. And he is not always nutted up at showdown.
He is kind of like ICEMAN from Top Gun, where he just plays semi tight to semi moderate, semi abc, semi straight forward, slightly mixes up his game, occasionally bluffs, semi bluffs, doesn't often get out of line, usually doesn't make mistakes, doesn't give out a lot of tells, reads tells well, hand range reads well.
His play is like Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson, Helmuth, Mike Matusow, Ivey, Harrington, Doyle Brunson, etc.
His play works for him, because who wants to try to bluff catch him, with about a 13% to 23% chance he is either bluffing or semi bluffing.
Where he has room for improvement, is he sometimes only bets 1/3 to 2/5 the pot vs draws, and sometimes value bets when he shouldn't, and sometimes folds straights, sets, trips, etc, to much, and as such sometimes gets bluffed out too much.
But that said you can't, shouldn't be a call station either.
But usually Wolf makes the right plays, calls, folds, etc, usually.
And his play is better then Rampage, Close to broke, and Next Gen(Except Frankie, is about same, equally skilled as Wolf)(Rosie and the others in Next Gen are usually not as good as Wolf)

Awesome run good and awesome play.
I know that this didn't go against you, and glad it didn't, but in the future it can, and eventually will.
When you have showdown value with a good semi made hand, etc, on the river facing a situation where there is a 4 cards to a straight showing where 1, 2 card(s), that your opponent could have, would make a straight beating your hand.
I know that it's unlikely that your preflop raises are being called with something that can, could have the 1,2 card(s), that would make a straight beat you, but you never know, sometimes players call with A3, etc, hands that would make a straight, beat you.
With that in mind, why thin value bet, in those situations? If, when you bet there, they are not likely to call you, unless your beat. So they either call beating you, or reraise beat you, or reraise bluff you, fold you the best hand out, or fold a hand you beat. They are almost never ever calling you with a hand you beat.
So with that in mind, if they check to you, with 4 to a possible, even if unlikely straight on board, don't value bet, because you will only fold out hands you beat, no one will call with a hand you beat, and if called your beat, and if reraise you, they are likely beating you, an or bluffing you.
So in that situation, it's just best to check back, take your showdown value, take your pot, and go on to the next hand.
This situation happened to you about 1,2,3 times.
Lucky for you,(I know that some would say unlucky because no one called paying you off), you didn't get called and beat, or reraised beat, or reraised bluffed out.
But that, those were NOT terrible bad plays, just something you can improve on.
But you really played awesome, and ran awesome.
Hope that continues for as long as possible for you.
Awesome video. Thanks for the videos Wolfgang.

      @@Wolfgang_Poker Thanks Wolfgang.
I like helping, giving hopefully good advice, supporting, etc.
Somewhere between some to almost most of the time, I am right or logical, and sometimes I am wrong.
I don't want to come across as bragging, or know it all, a sopposed pro, etc, to either you or others, I don't know it all, and am not a pro.
And I don't take credit for my knowledge, as I read Harrington on Hold Em, Full Tilt Tourny green book, Super System, Helmuth's books, and was coached at 2+2 poker forums by Shaun Deeb, and other coaches, and I still study, learn from your play, vlog, Next Gen(Especially Frankie) play, tips, Vlog, and Blackrain Poker, and Crush live Poker, etc.
Also I wouldn't presume to give you, others tips, if I didn't turn $15 into $1750 at Pokerstars, before BLACK Friday shutdown of USA online poker, stars, full tilt, and cashed 59,69,79,89 out of 200 tournaments offline at casinos, and a 38% cash ratio, and 19% to 29% ROI at Sharkscope.(not bragging, just showing credibility to people), and I know that my results is beans compared to your awesome results.
So I'm just trying to give good advice.
I might probably be moving from WA, to Phoenix, Arizona, in about 5 to 10 to 15 months, If you, others know of good casinos to play at lower stakes, tournaments, there I would like to know, play there. And maybe I can play in a meet up game with you, others.
Also thanks for the freeroll tournaments, that you announce, that I play in. Maybe I will be able to play, meet you, etc, in one of the freerolls.

    Regarding the QJ hearts hand:
Given the stack depth, I think the $400 bet into a $600 pot on the turn was good. If the pot was a bit larger ($800-1000), I'd prefer a shove (especially if he's a bit loose).
That said, I would have raised to $270 (3/4 pot-sized raise) on the flop and would have either jammed turn (if 2 callers) or bet around 2/3 PSB (if 1 caller).

Ehhh idk. Playing cards for a living sounds so stressful. Don't know if you're going to win everytime and you still gotta pay rent and food. Not easy by any means definitely need a career.
