Love your list. I think your comments on the Fountain tarot finally explained to me why I don't use that deck - too much detachment. Green Witch and Anna K. seem like two peas in a pod, so I'm not surprised to see both on the list. Every time I see you talking about Deviant Moon, I get an itch to acquire that deck. I have the Trionfa della Luna and love it, but it's veeeeeery NSFW. Lightseers... hmmm. I finally modded the images of the Empress, (she needs more body to have room for guts, I don't know why this bothered me, but I made her thicker,) and the Ace of Swords, (that looooooooooooong neck. I drew in a standing collar and shaded in shoulders, etc.) Now I love that deck too - except for that one dude-bro knight. But given that the Knight of Cups is often more of a f*ck-boi than a proper romantic interest, I can live with that card.
Oh that’s so cool that you modded some of the images on the Light Seers to make it work better for you!! I am super impressed with the artistic ability it takes to do that. Honestly I am all for making the Empress thicker, if I have one major criticism of the Light Seers it’s the lack of body size/shape/ability diversity. If you love your Trionfi I think you’d probably adore the Deviant Moon, it’s such a great deck! 💖💖💖🌝

I just can't with that Anna-K Five of Swords with the children about to be slaughtered though; it takes the whole deck away from a fairytale world I'd like to visit and toward a "game of thrones" hellscape. (It's also super jarring and far removed from the ways heartlessness shows up in my life.)
I think you have convinced me on the "touchstone tarot" though; I have the "influence of angels tarot" and I have been craving another classic art collage deck. And I can't seem to stop myself from loving the Morgan Greer even though it is so male- heavy in its representation. On my Halloween Tarot, I colored the borders black which I think was a huge improvement!
I do totally get that…the Anna K five of swords does feel jarring. If you’re looking for another classic art collage deck both the Touchstone and the Golden Tarot (also by Kat Black) are wonderful…the Golden Tarot is more medieval artwork while the Touchstone is more renaissance and baroque. Oh gosh black borders would look fantastic on the Halloween Tarot! Contemplating whether I trust the steadiness of my hands enough to attempt it….🤔😆
@@SunsetBoughTarot If you go for black borders, I recommend using painters tape! (you could also use a broad-tip Sharpie to expedite the process)
It's nice you included a RWS deck as an HM. I think one foundational deck like that definitely needs to be in any top 10 tarot ranking I could make for myself! And great, varied selection for the other 10. Thanks for sharing!

And yeah I think the original tag even made a carve-out for every collection to have at least one RWS and one Thoth (which I completely forgot when I filmed my response) but it makes so much sense to have a deck like that in any collection…even if I don’t use it much for reading I’d never be without it! 💖💖💖

Oh, I also *love* the artwork in Herbcrafters, but I struggle with reading the minors in it. (I may end up using it more as majors only deck .)
I totally get that…in a way the minors in the Herbcrafters are set up more elementally/numerologically than like an RWS and in terms of the specific plants I’m still very guidebook reliant in reading it.
