Not gonna lie, I like this ending better than the book... and for those asking, the book ended with a crying Savannah walking outside at the farm to look at the moon like her and John always did. A few feet away, John was standing in the dark beside a tree staring at Savannah. He looks at her for a little while, gets in his car and drives away, ending the book. (I read this book a few years ago, so I may be a bit off.)
I just hugged my girlfriend yesterday to say goodbye and it hurts deeply because when you are in love, you will never want to see that person go.. I wish her well but i give my life to be with in her arms forever as we did these past 4 years. I love her and i will love her the rest of my life.. She went back to Venezuela and i stayed in France, i wish i could go wherever it takes to get her back..

The pain was only caused by savannah, because she couldn’t wait, because couldn’t be alone. Tim needed me and I ended up marrying him, cause he needed me. Wtf, what about John? He needed you aswell, he was far from home, he had no one. You had all your family with you. He had no one. Why go all this trouble and in the end they still end up together. If I were John I would have left for good when he said goodbye. That was a goodbye, cause he didn’t say see you soon to her. She didn’t deserve him.
I think the ending was pretty good actually, because it's not predictable... Like Savannah said, "eventually time always runs out", and unfortunately time ran out for them... But that's just how it works in real life right? Time ran out for them but they were still able to remain friends and that's beautiful... And the way they hugged in the end just showed that they still love each other, but they just can't be together in that way... Well this is just my opinion :)
You should read the book,they can't be together in that but the movie they changed it hence her saying the final 2 months for her husband to say his goodbyes before passing from the cancer and them then getting this second chance. The whole movie is great to.

It was such a bittersweet ending, I would have loved if Savannah and john got married, but I loved how Nicholas sparks talked about how john did find true love so he let Savannah be happy with Tim. He put her happiness in front of his own, it was just so sweet that it made me cry really hard! (:
In the book they dont get back together. The book is really good and a must read. Message in a bottle was a really good read as well from sparks. Warning message in a bottle got a few tears from me.

Tim’s gone, Savannah still needs to watch Allan, and Tim did say to John now he knows somebody will watch Allan meanwhile telling him that she still loves John. It makes sense.
Served overseas multiple times within the teams and coming back home is enough, but to have someone as beautiful like that to come back to is beyond words. We should all be so grateful to the citizens that serve our country and to defend our freedom. 🙌

John sold his coin collection to pay for private health care so that savannah's dying husband can have his chance to spend quality time and be with his family until he passes. They are corresponding letters again while john went back to duty. He learns of her husbands death and the "anonymous donation". They meet at a restaurant not by random, but they are back together...People make mistakes in life and he forgived her. Look at the hug.
