That car was a Blessing!! How many things have we gotten rid of when we were young only to regret it terribly when we got older? The chances of finding it again is like winning the lottery!
That’s so cool about the car! My husband and I started dating when he was 15 and I was 14, so I know the feeling of romantic teenage memories. It’s great to have such a long history together. My husband and I dated for 3 1/2 years before we got married at 18, we’ve been married 48 years. The old wood is so beautiful, it’s one of my favorite things! Today I dropped off a small package for you at the post office. I don’t know how long it takes for something to get there from Idaho and I don’t know how often you get your mail at the post office, but hopefully you can get it before Christmas.
That's so awesome about the Pontiac. My husband got back one of his cars. A '68 Barracuda convertible we had when the kids were little. I told him he can't ever sell it again. It stays in the family.
I really like the direction you are going with the videos by showing us all of your projects and whatnot 👍 I can't wait to see the sledding hill lit up at night. Your pizza looked off the chain delicious 😋🤤❤️
Great story about the car and it made me realise how differently we do things around the world. In the UK, a car is given a registration when it is first sold. That registration stays on the car until the day it's scrapped, unless you put a private plate on it. This means that you can be driving and see your old car as it passes you. It's a nice feeling to know that the "old girl" is still going strong.
I love your car story! My family has a similar that is dear to our hearts. My 14 year old brother, with Dad’s help, restored a 65 Mustang, really red and really fast! As a young man, that car was everything to him. Several years later he sold it to buy his fiancé an engagement ring. We knew he loved her to be willing to give up that car! Now, six kids and seventeen years later, after checking KSL Classifieds every day for nearly seven years, his baby finally came up for sale. It was back home later that day! And yes, it needed another restoration. So yay! For old cars and true love!
I love my power tools. I wish I had your space! You guys really are reusing the stuff on your property to make beautiful furniture! Let those cats get under your skin! The Ski hill is fabulous. Well done. Lots to balance! The car story is great. Priceless! The pizza dough is so impressive. No everyone can do dough. Beautiful.
Awesome story about the car. Oh my goodness the pizza and wings. Would you mind sharing your pizza dough recipe? Your daughter did such a great job. It must be nice to have extra help.
The car story, the table, and dinner…all wonderful! So fortunate nothing catastrophic happened with the oiled rags. A former coworker also told me not to leave the clothes dryer on if you’re not home because hers caught on fire and fortunately she was home so I will never do that.
Oh my goodness that is an incredible story about Dan’s car! Proof positive it was always meant to be his! Hopefully it won’t be a couple years before he’s able to restore it! The biggest problem about putting a car in an old shed etc is the damage the vermin can do to everything that’s not steel. I urge you to not leave the car for that length of time before he restores it! Certainly will never be time wasted! But I do understand it’s all about priorities and there are only so many hours in a day. Best wishes on the restoration! I think the sled hill is an awesome idea! You are a very industrious couple!! 🥰❤️🇨🇦🙏🏻
We still have a 1971 Dodge Challenger. It was the car that my husband picked me up in for our first date, back when we were 16. We went to a drive-in movie. It was at the end of November, 1980, and in a snow storm. We got married in that car, brought our first born home from the hospital in that car, and she was married with that car. All four of our kids love that car.
Loved today’s video, so much going on. The wood is beautiful , too beautiful not to be on display. The kids have a winter playground and as always the family meals are yum. What a great story behind dans car, unbelievable how it turned out to be his old car. Thanks for us along
The car story was amazing. The table and shelves are going to beautiful can't wait to see the finished product. Supper looked delicious as well. Thank you for sharing.
love the car story, love the cat, love the pizza . . . . . love your channel! Oh, also love your cowl. Grew up with scarves, but over here (Europe) they wear the cowls, but call them snoods 😂 Thought you or your kids might enjoy that one.
Best story! Dan must be absolutely stoked, I know my husband would love to find one of his old cars! He did restore a 1970 Chevy step side, it took 20 years...
OH MY god that made me start bawling!!!!! That is such a beautiful story how rare for such a reuniting. It was very meant to be his car. And yes holy sentimental memories for sure. So romantic in many ways. My husband, as he is very into old cars and I follow his love for them will love this story. Wow. Love the reclaimed wood too so much. And the supper looked amazing. hugs
Hi Chelsea. Dan's car is a 1970 Pontiac. My brother-in-law has a 1976 Maverick in the tractor shed. He has promised to restore it next spring. Same exact color as yours! Ours is a standard transmission, but I doubt I will be able to make a convincing plea for " glass packs". Really cool that you are stringing lights and preparing the sled run. The kids will remember that always. I remember my dad flooding the side yard for a skating rink for my sister and I, on a ❄❄❄❄ freezing cold night. I was 4 and had double runner skates :-)
I keep forgetting to thank you for your baking powder biscuit recipe/video! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I hadn't made biscuits in a couple decades and my mom was no longer with us to ask questions, so when my husband wanted to start a childhood tradition of having biscuits, jam, and hot cocoa for Sunday dinner my first two tries were horrible. Right at that time you showed us how you make yours and now for three Sundays we have had the most incredibly soft and delicious biscuits! I seriously can't thank you enough, Chelsea. :)
Mary Ann Isaksen- I must have missed that episode and will look for it. My Grandma Hazel taught me how to make New England style baking powder biscuits for my first baking lesson. I failed miserably :-( I was little and thought that the MORE I rolled them, the better they would be. The first batch came out like hockey pucks! I cried. She said, " That's all right, that's all right..." and we started over. This time she took the rolling pin from my hands, set it aside and said to gently pat them into shape. They came out perfectly :-)
How awesome is it that Dan got his old car back! What a great story. I am a kitty person and love seeing yours in the videos. 🙂 That pizza looked so yummy
Car story- LOVE! Kids outside playing AND having snowball fights- LOVE! Chelsea sliding down the sledding hill (because she was right up at the top)- I would LOVE to see!!! 😃💜😃💜
Look at all that gorgeous snow everywhere! And here we are talking all about the few cm of snow that Vancouver is supposed to get tomorrow. 🤗 Stay safe and warm!
Helpful hint when it comes to washing off paint for your hair, hands and face. Hair, use leave in conditioner. It washes away easy. For face and hands put on extra lotion before and paint washes away easy too.
My dad was a car guy, my husband is a car guy. I guess, I'm a bit of a car girl. I absolutely love Dan's car story! And, I truly appreciate he was able to buy back his car! Plus, I am a bit of a newbie here and love watching your channel!
Hi Chelsea, I have been binge watching your videos for the last few days after discovering your channel. I have loved every single one of them for so many reasons, always lots of things to learn for a town dweller from the UK, so well thought out and presented and you radiate the love you have for your family, your land and your life. I have loved many bits and details but the story of your husband’s car is just the most beautiful.
Chelsea and Dan ,the example you set as parents and how you live your life is a fine example of love!I hope you are able to record some coyote and wolf howls this winter to share with us!Here in Michigan packs are sometimes up to a dozen if we are lucky I've experienced average packs of coyotes up to two dozen! When they are in the area for a few days it's prudent to keep a short reign on your dogs, as coyotes can develope a sweet tooth for Buffy!
My dad had a 71 LeManz! 350 rocket engine. And a metallic bronze paint! Beautiful cars! I got a chance to ride in it up until I was 3 or 4 before he parted with it
I just have to say how much I'm enjoying your videos. I'm on maternity leave with my twins (2nd & 3rd babies). I'm on my own most of the time. Unfortunately no family or friends near us. I basically have your videos on all the time now. It feels like I have a friend and comforts me significantly. Thank you
Great car story! Nice car! The table and shelves sure will look good - glad you are leaving rough edge. Just checked the weather and we are getting the same cold snap - but with wind and snow we got the last few days I am not surprised the cold has arrived. Good video!
What a great story about the car. But I would leave it in the shop since many woodland creatures will make it their home and eat up your wiring and seats. We had that happen with a truck and it was a mess to fix.
It’s so cool how you think of safety and lights with poles, I bet it’s a fun fun area! Can’t wait to see more of it. Loved how one of kids grabbed some air! Fun 🤩 we don’t see this in our area of Arizona. Higher mountains get little snow but not like you. Lol I love love wood and history behind the new piece created. And the car was special story! Thank you for another wonderful video ❤ really enjoyed it ❤
Omg! Great car story! Wow..lucky lucky Dan is to find it again! I cant think of a better car story. I thought I had some neat stories about my cars when I was young...but Dan's story takes the trophy!! 🤩 Thanks for telling us! It will be so awesome once finished....but is a project car ever finished? Lol Great idea about reclaiming a door! Gorgeous grain! Thanks Chelsea! 😋
Just recently started watching your channel and LOVE it. Love the car story so sweet. I also Love rustic so that table will be beautiful, I am not fortunate to be a homesteader but do can and Love the thought of being one.
What a fantastic story about Dan's car!!

Just wanted to mention that I love that you don't edit out all of the life happening in the background! It just makes it more real!
Your kids are growing up to a great life. You and Dan are great parents.
How wonderful to find theoriginal car!
That's so awesome about the Pontiac. My husband got back one of his cars. A '68 Barracuda convertible we had when the kids were little. I told him he can't ever sell it again. It stays in the family.
The car story about Dan's car is just the neatest story. The wood grain after you oiled that board was so pretty.
Sledding hill ❤
Dan’s Car ❤
Wings & pizza ❤
The gate❤❤
Being married to a wood working enthusiast there's nothing like reclaimed woods of any kind . Especially when it has a cool story
I really like the direction you are going with the videos by showing us all of your projects and whatnot 👍 I can't wait to see the sledding hill lit up at night.
Your pizza looked off the chain delicious 😋🤤❤️
Love you, friend. A little birdie told me it might be a good idea.❤️

What a varied and interesting life you have. Many thanks for sharing.
Boy O Boy that pizza dough looked amazing! Great job. The wood for the table will be gorgeous! WOW
I think there was a miracle at work that made it possible for Dan the find his exact car!!
You were right! I’m not a car girl but I LOVE that story! 🥰
The car story, the table, and dinner…all wonderful! So fortunate nothing catastrophic happened with the oiled rags. A former coworker also told me not to leave the clothes dryer on if you’re not home because hers caught on fire and fortunately she was home so I will never do that.
The posts, lights and pool noodles are a fantastic idea! What an incredible car story. It was meant to be.
Beautiful wood, great old car, perfect pizza and your very own sledding hill. What a wonderful life!
Wow! Cold! Yum! I love food! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas with us!

Awesome car story!! The reclaimed wood is looking great! Luv the pool noodle idea!
Ya can also use pipe wrappers that are similar to pool noodles. They come primarily in grey, so not near as fun as the pink noodles!
Car story- LOVE!
Kids outside playing AND having snowball fights- LOVE!
Chelsea sliding down the sledding hill (because she was right up at the top)- I would LOVE to see!!! 😃💜😃💜
