      @@christerry1773 In the USA 1 in 4 construction workers are foreign born. Unless I am mistaking what you are saying - what you're saying comes across that one is actively looking for a reason to blame the victims... the immigrants where the construction workers, they where all legal working citizens, and all but 2 of them died... These construction workers weren't even on the boat, they where filling potholes as part of their job - on the bridge. Respect is remembering that our country was founded by immigrants, well actually the Europeans took it by force from the native americans, and never really gave it back. So in moving forward collectively as a society and all of us trying to do better as a whole - let's try to be respectful when people come here the right way.

  • @rexdenemo5235

    Hi folks,
    What happens is that the Captain could not drop both anchors to stop the ship.
    Had he dropped the port anchor, it too would probably have dragged but it will have pulled his bow to port.
    My guess is that upper management cut the personell in half, and the one detail could not drop the anchors simultaneously, or something happened so that both anchors could not be dropped at the same time.
    The starbord only anchor pulled the ship into the pylon.

  • @PaulZeski
    @PaulZeski 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    What it looks like is the port anchor was dropped and dragging pulling the bow to port. If propulsion was restored...the rear of the ship would kick out to starboard driving the ship into the bridge.

    Amazing how the engine funnels are belching smoke right up to the point of impact even when the lights are off and we were told the ship had no propulsion during that time. Amazing how that ship made a right turn directly into the support seconds before the impact. Amazing how the last two minutes before hitting the bridge support the ships data recorder just happened to be deleted. Amazing how we were told this ship was operating normally up until just a few moments before the collision Amazing how this ship was a half mile from the main channel if it lost power just before the impact. Just amazing!

      This is no doubt a very interesting line of questioning.
      Makes me wonder if this was some kind of rehearsal for the future sabotage of another container ship or tanker in a waterway near a much bigger and busier bridge. Any oil tanker or cargo ship carrying this much weight would certainly be capable of destroying a bridge like the Golden Gate in the San Francisco Bay Area, the George Washington in the New York area, or several other large highway bridges which carry significant commercial traffic, especially during rush hour. Terrorists could hijack multiple ships at the same time, and cause major bridge collapses in several different major metropolitan areas at the same time. The attacks wouldn't have to be coordinated to occur at exactly the same time, but rather, would just need to occur in the same relative time frame to achieve the element of surprise. For the US Coast Guard or various marine police agencies to successfully intervene during the hijacking of ships this size, they would need a significant amount of lead time to have the necessary assets in place to create meaningful countermeasures. Hopefully this accident helped the US government's law enforcement agencies refine their planning for dealing with contingencies like this.
      This must have been a terrifying experience for the construction workers who were on the Francis Scott key bridge during this accident.

There was an officer on the East side completing a traffic stop and blocked the traffic. Another on the west side was able to get into position to do the same.

    I just thought about it and bridges don't get potholes, it's not like a road built on the ground. It would just get a hole that you could fall though there isn't any dirt underneath it, only air, can't fill that hole, don't have to be white to know that. "If" there were potholes to fill, you have to do it in the summer because the asphalt and sealant won't cure properly. Go to Home Depot or Lowes and go look at the side of a bucket of asphalt, read the instructions, all the fine print, comprehend the words, actually learn for yourself, maybe you do have to be white to do somethings.

      he anchor was dropped on the starboard side, that would have begun to pull the ship to that side. Are you seriously suggesting this was intentional??

      @@christerry1773christerry1773 I’m not only suggesting this was done on purpose,absolutely no accident,must have been one hell of a big anchor to make that large ship turn directly into that bridge support,been on large ships my whole life never seen anchor have that much control of a ship.

    x This is hard to believe and so sad. Just FYI...“The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. So if you are lost, God loves you and wants a better life for you. Jesus said, "Everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My heavenly Father. So, confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord and I believe that God raised Him from the dead!" You are now saved. And if you overcome and faithfully confess to others about Jesus to the end of your life, you will be dressed in white. And Jesus will never blot out your name from the Book of Life, but Jesus will confess your name before His Father and His angels.
