Looks very interesting, 2 points I noticed: - The turret high is very low. - The 2 hatches for the crew on the turret are really low, it is like the hatches are only a mean of scape but the crew is below the turret. I looks to me like they placed to crew very low so they have minimal exposition on the external part of the turret that way they can minimise the size of the turret. I think this is clever thinking, it looks like a hybrid between unmaned turrets and the traditional turret with autoloader. This is a more clever arrangement than the T14, because the crew still have acces to the turret to unjam any mechanism if needed, it will also produce a lighter vehicle and smaller target . Well done guys.

It used a regular production Rooikat hull with a completely new two-man turret. The loader/commander was positioned on the left side of the turret and the gunner was located on the right side, both in sunken positions allowing a low profile wedge shape for the turret where the crew was located. The main gun was in the center, a 105mm high pressure gun but it was intended also to test a 120mm low pressure gun. The main gun was automatically loaded with ammunition from the turret bustle. An active protection system (APS) mock-up was located on the rear of the turret but was not functional. The Rooikat MTTD was only a demonstrator vehicle and never entered production.

This is a sick vehicle. Oh man. A perfect tank such the KF-51. With this the NATO can kick easly the enemy butts. I love this. The pairing of the two main parts of the 2 best MBT of the continent is a genious idea! And equipment is great as well. Coaxial .50 cal a 30mm auto cannon and a 7.62 MG on the top of the turret. And of course APS. I felt we will see a vehicle like this on the Eurosatory22. To be honest the only 2 things that I miss from the Panther is 30mm auto cannon. I think a vehicle must be equiped with one. Also as a technician student majored in automatization, I'm really corious about the contorols systems of the vehicle. I hope some day, I will be able to work vehicles like this. Hats off Nexter and KMW! You've made something gorgeous!

The EMBT is part of development for the MGCS program. We've still only seen a small part of what it's capable of achieving, but we're slowly getting to the finish line.

Ces le CN-120-26 du Leclerc avec une nouvelle munitions donc pas beaucoup de changements à ce niveau la. Ce concept de char KNDS présenté en juin 2022 à Satory n'a plus grand chose en commun avec le concept EMBT de 2018 qui était bien un assemblage tourelle Leclerc sur chassis Leopard 2. Le concept EMBT actuel est toujours un châssis Leopard 2 mais avec des commandes de conduite numériques (dronisable). La tourelle est toujours une base Leclerc, notamment pour le chargement automatique. Mais l'armement est entièrement revu : canon 140 mm avec munitions intelligentes longue portée, canon secondaire 35 mm (?) anti-aérien avec munitions airbust. Conduite de tir et système d'armes entièrement nouveau (vision 360°, pilotage de drone).

@@exocet9373 La définition de nouveau peut varier. Ils sont nouveaux dans le sens où ce sont des variations qui ne correspondent à aucune définition de série. Mais cela reste des éléments qui gardent des attributs du Leclerc et du Léopard 2. Tout comme les mulets de mobilité du Leclerc qui étaient des châssis d'AMX 30 lourdement modifiés pour les essais. Même s'ils ne peuvent être qualifiés d'AMX 30, les connaisseurs peuvent toujours reconnaitre le train de roulement et la forme de certains tronçons de la caisse. Ici, c'est pareil, on fait quelque chose de nouveau sans réinventer la roue.

C'est juste une cannibalisation d'une des masses oscillantes faite pour le projet FTMA. Les dernières innovation apparues depuis n'ont pas été intégrées. Cela nécessite une refonte du berceau et du manchon de culasse.

Le MGCS est un projet franco-allemand de char du futur. Il faudra beaucoup de temps pour le voir aboutir. L'EMBT pourrait être le char du moment, mais lancer une ligne de production prendrai minimum 3 ans. Actuellement il reste le meilleur choix.

I was checking the details of the turret after I saw your comment, from the geometry of the turret on the accesories it has on top I think the blow up may happen backwards instead upwards, I'm not completely sure.

Chaque projet franco-allemand utilisé soit le français soit l'allemand, exemple le SCAF (Système de combat aérien futur) si ont utilise le français pour le SCAF pourquoi ne pas utiliser l'allemand pour ce char même si je préférerais le français. Ou pourquoi ne pas lui donner un nom français en France et un nom allemand en Allemagne. Surtout que l'Angleterre à quitter l'UE utiliser l'anglais et donc une preuve de soumission à des traître

Il a vraiment de la gueule ce char! J'ai jamais vu une tourelle de 30mm en plus du canon de 120 sur un char de combat principal. C'est bien joli tous ça, mais si c'est pour faire comme sur le Leclerc en avoir en quantité vraiment limité... A suivre.
en fait il y a une pente générale du blindage de la tourelle, qui au lieu d'attaquer le devant façon abrahams va du début à quasiment le milieu de la tourelle, une pente très faible au contraire qui présente de meilleures chances de déviation, les éléments accessoires sont posés dessus, on prend le parti de les sacrifier en cas de coup direct- ça donne cette illusion de facettes "face" à l'ennemi. D'autres part elle est extrêmement basse et compacte, sans aucun autre projet faisant aussi "plat", ce qui est aussi un gage de survivabilité.
L'aspect plat de la tourelle peux se traduire en Armure plus fine donc moins lourde mais tout aussi efficace voir plus car moins de poids veux dire qu'on peux rendre l'armure plus épais. Je remarque des protections actives pour combattre certaines munitions aussi. Le char à l'air fin, mais l'épaisseur de l'armure je présume ne l'est vraiment pas. Les flèches moderne ne font pas de ricochets d'ailleurs, ils cassent. C'est pour ça que les chars modernes ont un profil d'armure plat.
Plutôt que de travailler sur le MBT, Nexter ferait mieux de présenter ENFIN son prototype de MGCS qu’on attend depuis des années ! Au rythme où Nexter avance, les Allemands vont finir par se retirer du projet comme le parlement Allemand l’a déclaré début décembre !
Par votre commentaire vous prouvez que vous n'avez absolument aucune connaissance de ce dont vous parlez. Ce sont les allemands qui ont ralenti le programme via l'entrée de Rheinmetall dans le projet qui veut imposer son 130mm. Et ça ne fais pas des années que Nexter doit dévoiler un prototype puisque c'est un travail en commun avec les allemands, chacun ayant plusieurs briques du projet a développer de leur côté.
Ce MBT c'est le prototype de base du MGCS. ça se passe très bien avec l'entreprise allemande KMW, mais très mal avec Rheinmetal qui a malheureusement été ajoutée sur le tard...Au final, ce MGCS ce sera sans doute cet EMBT finalisé, ce qui serait au demeurant une bonne chose avec le 140mm ascalon.

Il n'y aura pas un prototype de MGCS Rheinmetall, pas un prototype de MGCS Nexter ni KMW, c'est un tout , ce n'est pas une compétition industrielle entre les trois mais une coopération. Je pense que vous n'avez pas saisi cela.

The only issue with the EMBT is the Leo 2 hull. There will have to be A LOT of improvements made to the frontal hull armor for it to be a viable MBT in modern combat when APFSDS is hitting the realm of +900mm of penetration. I am very interested to learn about their "armored capsule" versus the T-14 Armata's. The weight savings from using an unmanned turret will help in allowing more weight to be allocated to armor protection, but that turret still seems pretty beefy and full of heavy equipment, such as what seems to be a 25, 30, or 35mm autocannon RCWS mount. Even with all these unanswered question, the Nexter's EMBT still seems much more capable and an overall better tank than Rheinmetall's KF-51. The KF-51 relies on too many "modular" gimmicks, which when in use, severely hamper its other crucial systems, such as its main battery ammo capacity, something which modern combat with supply lines that can disappear with one swarm of enemy UAVs, cannot sacrifice.
The turret isn’t unmanned, there’s no talk of a crew capsule either for this tank. There’s 2 crew in the turret, 2 in the hull, one of which will control the 30mm and be a system operator.
Also, note the 3 hatches at the front of the hull, two more next to the driver's hatch, that is for the commander and gunner to sit side by side next to the driver. It's all clearly visible and was what they were trying to show off.

on s'est encore fait marcher dessus par les allemands , ils ont imposés leurs châssis et moteur !! alors que notre SACM Hyperbar est bien plus explosif avec sa turbine d'hélicoptère , et plus fiable qu'un simple turbo ! mais je ne change pas d'avis , le char lourd , c'est dépassé , l'armement anti char va dix fois plus vite a concevoir qu'un char lourd tout entier , et un missile anti char est plus facile a transporté ! j'aurais bien voulu voir le Leclerc avec l'Ascalon de 140 mm , capable de tirer une munition POLYNEGE à 15 km sans avoir le visuel sur le char ennemi , c'est la munition qui est dites intelligente , on donne la direction à peu près du char ennemi , on tire par dessus une colline ou un village et le char ennemi se prend une munition sur le toit sans savoir qu'un Leclerc est dans le coin , à 15 km , 2x plus loin que la meilleur portée d'un canon de char russe !! soit 8 km au max !! Also, both countries are continuing development of their respective tanks. No chance this demonstrator goes to production for either the French or Germany Armed Forces.
@@Red.Hot.Chili.Beans63 KNDS is here now, so things are different, Rheinmetall is a thorn but nothing critical, especially if Italy joins the MGCS. The MGCS or even the SCAF may be delayed, but they will exist. Because both countries will need them. Even with the current German government, we don't really have any other choice. France has the technology but lacks the money and the size. Germany has the money but lacks experience and size. The only alternative is to go back to the USA, and although it was a popular stand, the Germans (military) are more disposed towards the EU than the USA. Is it easy? Certainly not. But it's necessary - it would be one of the worst decisions for both sides to go it alone. In the long run, if the EU wants to exist, we have to find a solution to cooperate on military programs.

An active protection system (APS) mock-up was located on the rear of the turret but was not functional. The Rooikat MTTD was only a demonstrator vehicle and never entered production.

This is a sick vehicle. Oh man. A perfect tank such the KF-51. With this the NATO can kick easly the enemy butts. I love this. The pairing of the two main parts of the 2 best MBT of the continent is a genious idea! And equipment is great as well. Coaxial .50 cal a 30mm auto cannon and a 7.62 MG on the top of the turret. And of course APS. I felt we will see a vehicle like this on the Eurosatory22. To be honest the only 2 things that I miss from the Panther is 30mm auto cannon. I think a vehicle must be equiped with one. Also as a technician student majored in automatization, I'm really corious about the contorols systems of the vehicle. I hope some day, I will be able to work vehicles like this. Hats off Nexter and KMW! You've made something gorgeous!

Redundant sighting systems can help the crew to hold on after getting blasted and losing most of their cameras and sensors, but their spare systems are just as fragile. What makes this modern also makes it vulnerable. Unless it can out-see and out-range the enemy (which would be the ideal situation for any tank, but rarely happens in battle), it will be an expensive, power-hungry piece of armor that can be dealt with by kid with a paintball gun.

@@Gouzou30 Alors là, votre réponse est très hâtive et fausse. Ce concept de char KNDS présenté en juin 2022 à Satory n'a plus grand chose en commun avec le concept EMBT de 2018 qui était bien un assemblage tourelle Leclerc sur chassis Leopard 2.
Le concept EMBT actuel est toujours un châssis Leopard 2 mais avec des commandes de conduite numériques (dronisable). La tourelle est toujours une base Leclerc, notamment pour le chargement automatique. Mais l'armement est entièrement revu : canon 140 mm avec munitions intelligentes longue portée, canon secondaire 35 mm (?) anti-aérien avec munitions airbust. Conduite de tir et système d'armes entièrement nouveau (vision 360°, pilotage de drone).

Ils sont nouveaux dans le sens où ce sont des variations qui ne correspondent à aucune définition de série.
Mais cela reste des éléments qui gardent des attributs du Leclerc et du Léopard 2.
Tout comme les mulets de mobilité du Leclerc qui étaient des châssis d'AMX 30 lourdement modifiés pour les essais.
Même s'ils ne peuvent être qualifiés d'AMX 30, les connaisseurs peuvent toujours reconnaitre le train de roulement et la forme de certains tronçons de la caisse.
Ici, c'est pareil, on fait quelque chose de nouveau sans réinventer la roue.

L'EMBT pourrait être le char du moment, mais lancer une ligne de production prendrai minimum 3 ans.
Actuellement il reste le meilleur choix.
Le MGCS c'est plus qu'un char, c'est un ensemble de sous système, l'image du SCAF qui est plus que le NGF.

en fait il y a une pente générale du blindage de la tourelle, qui au lieu d'attaquer le devant façon abrahams va du début à quasiment le milieu de la tourelle, une pente très faible au contraire qui présente de meilleures chances de déviation, les éléments accessoires sont posés dessus, on prend le parti de les sacrifier en cas de coup direct- ça donne cette illusion de facettes "face" à l'ennemi.
D'autres part elle est extrêmement basse et compacte, sans aucun autre projet faisant aussi "plat", ce qui est aussi un gage de survivabilité.

L'aspect plat de la tourelle peux se traduire en Armure plus fine donc moins lourde mais tout aussi efficace voir plus car moins de poids veux dire qu'on peux rendre l'armure plus épais. Je remarque des protections actives pour combattre certaines munitions aussi. Le char à l'air fin, mais l'épaisseur de l'armure je présume ne l'est vraiment pas. Les flèches moderne ne font pas de ricochets d'ailleurs, ils cassent. C'est pour ça que les chars modernes ont un profil d'armure plat.

Plutôt que de travailler sur le MBT, Nexter ferait mieux de présenter ENFIN son prototype de MGCS qu’on attend depuis des années ! Au rythme où Nexter avance, les Allemands vont finir par se retirer du projet comme le parlement Allemand l’a déclaré début décembre !
Par votre commentaire vous prouvez que vous n'avez absolument aucune connaissance de ce dont vous parlez.
Ce sont les allemands qui ont ralenti le programme via l'entrée de Rheinmetall dans le projet qui veut imposer son 130mm.
Et ça ne fais pas des années que Nexter doit dévoiler un prototype puisque c'est un travail en commun avec les allemands, chacun ayant plusieurs briques du projet a développer de leur côté.
Ce MBT c'est le prototype de base du MGCS.
ça se passe très bien avec l'entreprise allemande KMW, mais très mal avec Rheinmetal qui a malheureusement été ajoutée sur le tard...Au final, ce MGCS ce sera sans doute cet EMBT finalisé, ce qui serait au demeurant une bonne chose avec le 140mm ascalon.

@@etiennehannosset5403 Mais il n'y a pas de compétition justement, le programme MGCS est découpé entre les 3 industriels, la France conserve ses 50% et l'Allemagne partage le reste entre KMW et Rheinmetall. Il n'y aura pas un prototype de MGCS Rheinmetall, pas un prototype de MGCS Nexter ni KMW, c'est un tout , ce n'est pas une compétition industrielle entre les trois mais une coopération.
Je pense que vous n'avez pas saisi cela.

The only issue with the EMBT is the Leo 2 hull. There will have to be A LOT of improvements made to the frontal hull armor for it to be a viable MBT in modern combat when APFSDS is hitting the realm of +900mm of penetration. I am very interested to learn about their "armored capsule" versus the T-14 Armata's. The weight savings from using an unmanned turret will help in allowing more weight to be allocated to armor protection, but that turret still seems pretty beefy and full of heavy equipment, such as what seems to be a 25, 30, or 35mm autocannon RCWS mount. Even with all these unanswered question, the Nexter's EMBT still seems much more capable and an overall better tank than Rheinmetall's KF-51. The KF-51 relies on too many "modular" gimmicks, which when in use, severely hamper its other crucial systems, such as its main battery ammo capacity, something which modern combat with supply lines that can disappear with one swarm of enemy UAVs, cannot sacrifice.
From the cut out letters on the autocannon RCWS mount, it seems to be a 30mm autocannon called "ARX-30".
The turret isn’t unmanned, there’s no talk of a crew capsule either for this tank. There’s 2 crew in the turret, 2 in the hull, one of which will control the 30mm and be a system operator.
@@florisvdwetering look at the top of the turret, no hatches. That was one of the main things they tried showing off.
Also, note the 3 hatches at the front of the hull, two more next to the driver's hatch, that is for the commander and gunner to sit side by side next to the driver. It's all clearly visible and was what they were trying to show off.

Le MGCS sera le char du futur, mais ça pourrait mettre 20 ans avant de voir les premiers.
L'EMBT est la solution du présent.
Le MGCS c'est plus qu'un char, c'est un ensemble de sous système, l'image du SCAF qui est plus que le NGF.
L'EMBT peut difficilement remplacer le MGCS.
Il peut au mieux combler le retard.
on s'est encore fait marcher dessus par les allemands , ils ont imposés leurs châssis et moteur !! alors que notre SACM Hyperbar est bien plus explosif avec sa turbine d'hélicoptère , et plus fiable qu'un simple turbo ! mais je ne change pas d'avis , le char lourd , c'est dépassé , l'armement anti char va dix fois plus vite a concevoir qu'un char lourd tout entier , et un missile anti char est plus facile a transporté ! j'aurais bien voulu voir le Leclerc avec l'Ascalon de 140 mm , capable de tirer une munition POLYNEGE à 15 km sans avoir le visuel sur le char ennemi , c'est la munition qui est dites intelligente , on donne la direction à peu près du char ennemi , on tire par dessus une colline ou un village et le char ennemi se prend une munition sur le toit sans savoir qu'un Leclerc est dans le coin , à 15 km , 2x plus loin que la meilleur portée d'un canon de char russe !! soit 8 km au max !! LOL
120 ou 140 mm c'est clairement un plus pour une armée.

Also, both countries are continuing development of their respective tanks. No chance this demonstrator goes to production for either the French or Germany Armed Forces.

The MGCS or even the SCAF may be delayed, but they will exist.
Because both countries will need them.
Even with the current German government, we don't really have any other choice.
France has the technology but lacks the money and the size.
Germany has the money but lacks experience and size.
The only alternative is to go back to the USA, and although it was a popular stand, the Germans (military) are more disposed towards the EU than the USA.
Is it easy? Certainly not.
But it's necessary - it would be one of the worst decisions for both sides to go it alone.
In the long run, if the EU wants to exist, we have to find a solution to cooperate on military programs.
