Sometimes it's hard to make that decision to cut your losses. My son is learning that lesson the hard way with his car. He had some issues and took it to the (very trusted) mechanic I use for the stuff we can't/don't have time to do ourselves. He told him it would cost more to fix it than the car is worth, and advised him to get rid of it. He really likes the car, and just bought a house, so he decided to try to save some money and fix it himself. As things always go, one thing leads to another, and him and his buddy have been working on it every weekend for the last month, and found a few more problems along the way. Awesome you got out of it without being under water!!! Best wishes for the future!
Personally I think you did whats best for your family and in the end wallet, thats just smart not a sell out. I for one will continue ti watch your channel as ranching has a background for me as well and kind of miss those days. Enjoy what life brings you.

So I must say, I first started watching you guys several years ago because you were RV owners who I liked. At some point in time that changed. You became people I liked who happened to have owned an RV. The emphasis changed. I hate the fact that your family had to go through all of this. But it makes me feel good that you guys are happy. I mentioned a little while back that I still believe there’s a tree fixing to be cut down for a campfire we will all sit at. I might just have to be a little closer to Texas for that to happen. You made the right decision. In my opinion, Grand Design isn't a high quality RV manufacturer anymore. Far from it! No roadworthy vehicle should EVER have frames break, unless it is in a serious accident. If any other kind of vehicle had frames routinely break, the DOT would crush that manufacturer. The same should hold true for RV manufacturers.
I am not sure that they were ever a high quality rv manufacturer. The frame failed on our 2015 Momentum and we do not carry any toys other than bicycles.
Because you do what is best for you and your family, and instead of what all these people who ARE NOT PAYING diddly to you, doesn't make you a sell-out. It makes you a wise business man!! Hats off to you!!!

Enjoyed your videos. You guys are young. I waited till my 60s. I'm on my 11th year, but I'm an old fart. Now, I'm stationary at a year round CG. My now 21 year old Class A is doing great. It just goes to show RVs hold up very well when they stay put.
there's tons of homesteading/ranching/farming channels. Just pave your new path in that direction. I'm here for it and will be patiently waiting for tractor reviews.
Please know you are helping people when you discuss the problems with your RV. I can understand not wanting to be negative. But for somebody new to RVs that's thinking about getting into RV life, your videos are helpful.

Your discussion about the weight of things is spot on. Just because it has washer and dryer hookups doesn't mean it's a good idea. Same for the dishwasher. And solar setups with generators...even more weight. Add all the personal stuff... It's no wonder there are cracked frames. I hate that anyone has those issues. The fact that Grand Design has been publicly shared and advertised as a full-time living RV. Much of that was through YT and that just perpetuated the popularity of the brand on YT. I think your choice was wise.

I don’t blame you at all for selling the RV. You have to take care of your financial situation. Thank God for that viewer who came to your rescue and decided that they could use it. For new content, something I’d like to see is anything related to an off grid lifestyle, such as solar power, water purification, supplies, waste and sewer, disposal, etc

We thought about traveling more, but our rv is very durable, have had very few problems with it.. but to pull it all over the place would worry us.. get back to ny, it sits until September, when we go to Florida ,,, see lots of people broken down on road. I am so happy for you both that RV would never make you whole again and getting rid of it was the only thing to do. I never made videos of when my wife and I lived full time for 2 1/2 years in our motorhome but once it was over I knew it was over. To me camping is great but it's just that it's camping and I look forward to the relaxation and enjoyment that comes with it. Looking forward to the new content and keep Paving New Paths.
IF you guys ever do get another rv, I suggest this. Buy an enclosed cargo trailer, a QUALITY one. Convert it yourself. That’s what I’m doing. I’m doing it myself because I worked in RV factories and KNOW they are ALL JUNK! Good luck ☘️

I am excited for your family. I am sad for RVers everywhere. There is no quality control, no ISO9000, and even with good frames, the units are crap! Indiana is making junk! And they don’t care. I’ll be sticking with you. I would just tell you to keep an open mind about RVing. Not permanently like you were but for shorter trips. You learned how to plan and how to organize. Those skills will always be useful. And if you camp, great. If not, same thing, great. Wishing you all the best.
I can't imagine the stress of dealing with frame flex/failure issues. At some point I think these units are just too big, it's like putting wheels on your house and get surprised when things start falling apart. Good luck though!

You are most definitely NOT a sell out!!! RV manufactures sold the consumer on a lifestyle they can’t deliver. We have owned 3 new 40 foot 5th wheels. We sold our luxury four season 5th wheel a year ago - we have no plans for anymore. Each of them were very expensive and well maintained but still nothing but trouble. Thankfully, car/pickup manufacturers build products that can travel from point A to point B. Wishing you all the best - keep making great decisions for your family.
Will miss the traveling videos, we’re looking to retire next year and do traveling in spurts to not get burnt out and balance time with family. Look forward to seeing next adventure.

We started watching your channel about 2 years ago and I actually went back and watched all the videos that were out before we started watching. As for me, I will keep watching whether y'all rv or not. I love your content and no matter what it consists of, I will continue to follow. I have loved the ranching videos. I am glad to hear you are gonna continue to pave new paths in your life. After my wife and I get our motorhome, I would still love meet you sometime when we are in Texas. You made the right decision. In my opinion, Grand Design isn't a high quality RV manufacturer anymore. Far from it! No roadworthy vehicle should EVER have frames break, unless it is in a serious accident. If any other kind of vehicle had frames routinely break, the DOT would crush that manufacturer. The same should hold true for RV manufacturers.

I am not sure that they were ever a high quality rv manufacturer. The frame failed on our 2015 Momentum and we do not carry any toys other than bicycles.

Enjoyed your videos. You guys are young. I waited till my 60s. I'm on my 11th year, but I'm an old fart. Now, I'm stationary at a year round CG. My now 21 year old Class A is doing great. It just goes to show RVs hold up very well when they stay put.
there's tons of homesteading/ranching/farming channels. Just pave your new path in that direction. I'm here for it and will be patiently waiting for tractor reviews.

Your discussion about the weight of things is spot on. Just because it has washer and dryer hookups doesn't mean it's a good idea. Same for the dishwasher. And solar setups with generators...even more weight. Add all the personal stuff... It's no wonder there are cracked frames. I hate that anyone has those issues.
The fact that Grand Design has been publicly shared and advertised as a full-time living RV. Much of that was through YT and that just perpetuated the popularity of the brand on YT.

We thought about traveling more, but our rv is very durable, have had very few problems with it.. but to pull it all over the place would worry us.. get back to ny, it sits until September, when we go to Florida ,,, see lots of people broken down on road. I am so happy for you both that RV would never make you whole again and getting rid of it was the only thing to do. I never made videos of when my wife and I lived full time for 2 1/2 years in our motorhome but once it was over I knew it was over. To me camping is great but it's just that it's camping and I look forward to the relaxation and enjoyment that comes with it. Looking forward to the new content and keep Paving New Paths.

I am excited for your family. I am sad for RVers everywhere. There is no quality control, no ISO9000, and even with good frames, the units are crap! Indiana is making junk! And they don’t care.
I’ll be sticking with you. I would just tell you to keep an open mind about RVing. Not permanently like you were but for shorter trips. You learned how to plan and how to organize. Those skills will always be useful. And if you camp, great. If not, same thing, great. Wishing you all the best.

I can't imagine the stress of dealing with frame flex/failure issues. At some point I think these units are just too big, it's like putting wheels on your house and get surprised when things start falling apart. Good luck though!

You are most definitely NOT a sell out!!! RV manufactures sold the consumer on a lifestyle they can’t deliver. We have owned 3 new 40 foot 5th wheels. We sold our luxury four season 5th wheel a year ago - we have no plans for anymore. Each of them were very expensive and well maintained but still nothing but trouble. Thankfully, car/pickup manufacturers build products that can travel from point A to point B. Wishing you all the best - keep making great decisions for your family.
