    5:08 i was also taught that you can find the exact value (of the minimum point) by inputting the turning point’s (minimum point) x coordinate into the above table and run it through the same eq. After that you’ll receive a y which should be your exact answer.
    Though, this is a symmetrical graph so that changes a lot of things, i havent learnt too much about non symmetrical graphs to figure the turning point’s y value

    This video is good, however there's just one thing I can't quite comprehend.
    When you work out the "table" for example 3:12, you got 11 for -2. When I tried to work it out, I got -2. If you could help me, that'd be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    • @lemondrizzle2355
      @lemondrizzle2355 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, I'm not the best at maths but I'll try to help you. So the sum is y=x^2-3x+1. So lets work it out for -2. Basically, you substitute -2 in for all the x's. So the equation would look like this: (-2)^2-3(-2)+1. -2^2=4 -3*-2=6 and so you are left with 4+6+1 which equals 11. Hope that helps!!

    wait how did you get y=5 ? 😭

    • @recklessrat613
      @recklessrat613 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      because you substitute x being 4 into the quadratic equation:
      y = x squared minus 3x + 1
      This gives the answer y = 16 - 12 + 1
      Which means y = 5 as final answer

    Hello, I would really appreciate it if you could answer this question quickly. how do you plot a curve if it doesn't give you the range from where to where to plot it for example the question just asks plot y=x^2+2x-5. how do I find out the range?

    • @mantosh56
      @mantosh56 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First find the x axis(or the x-axis crossing points) of the graphs by taking y=0. Than solving the equation....u may get two values of x and those are the x axis of the graph.
      Than to find the y axis take x=0 and find the y intercept ( or the y-axis crossing points of the graph) and than to find the minimum or the maximum point of the graph...well convert that equation into it's square form.
      After that draw a smooth graph following those points u got from the above steps and join them!!!
      That's how u get to draw that graph without an range hope that helps ☺️
