I love this song. Makes me think of my own Dad. He gave his truck before he passed. He loved working on cars and trucks and he passed that down to me. We worked on everything together. That truck for instance. We did a lot of work on the truck. Changed it from manual steering and transmission to power steering and automatic. Swapped motors. We spent so much time on that truck and every other car or truck we had. It was fun working with him. I learned more than just working on cars with him. Starting the restore in just a few months on the truck. People may say it's just a material thing, but actually it represents time spent with him.

Never heard of Jeff before , but liked this . Sad song, country through and through . Like you said life is full of tradeoffs ,Just got off the phone with my son and we were talking about him not traveling so much with his job so he can spend more time with his 8 year old. I had just told him before you turn around he will be grown and you better grab the time now while you can. That's what I love about country music so much of LIFE in these songs . Take care Don . My Dad was a used car salesman. I remember when I was just a little girl he would take me to work with him on a Saturday since he only had to work half a day. I loved being at the car dealership & going back into the service bays. I can still remember the smell of grease, oil & gas. Unfortunately my Dad passed when I was just 14 but, I'm certain he was right there beside me when I bought my first car when I was 17.
