- this house has been a part of my life since i was 5. i haven't lived there for the past two years, but it was still weird going back there for this last visit. itll always be a special place to me and i'm going to miss it...but you know, life goes on and you've got to let it. it was nice to get a goodbye.
it didn't really feel right to film this on my HD camera, so i did it with the video function on my oldskool kodak. it's the same camera i did a lot of real early videos on, so it feels fitting that i used it for this.
the monkey at the end was made by me and my mum when i was little :)

Watching this video reminded me of my childhood home. I honestly started to cry. You're such a sweet person Ed. Thank you for sharing your memories with us!
this almost made me cry... which may partly just be me being over emotional...
i just found it so beautiful and moving
well done, you wonderful person
This is so beautiful, I was fine watching it and then just cried when you lifted the floorboard.
So lovely though!
I have watched this loads of times, and every time I am close to tears! The combination of the beautiful house and garden, the brilliant camera work, the fantastic song and Ed being his lovely self makes this one of the best videos of all time!
i almost cry. The same thing happened to me one year ago, when my mom said to me that we would sell the house in which we live since I am 3 years old. In this moment I remembered all the happy moments that I lived in this house. luckily we never sold this house and i still live in there, but this remebered me how happy i'm in there. thank you.
A single tear rolled down my cheek when you put the board back. You're lucky to have lived in such a lovely place, but you can never truly appreciate it until you leave for good.
You are a beautiful soul.
it's nice to get a video of it because it will be here forever and you will always be able to come onto this video and see what the house was like. :P
this video actually made me cry - my best friend is moving away after living next to me since i was 3 - it wont be the same :(
a house becomes part of you, by simple things, such as the neighbours that you'll never forget :'(
its always upsetting leaving a house because you take in the littlest special memories about it that you never realised much about.
you must've had a beautiful childhood when you're able do make such a lovely video about your old home. thanks for sharing those pictures
I actually teared up at the end. That was perfect
I've lived in 8 different houses/flats and I'm only 16. It must be nice to have a childhood home; I never really missed any of the places I lived in since I knew we would move soon and knew it was best not to get attached. It was really nice of you to share this with us :)
These images resonate in us all, we all know places like these and this video makes us feel like we are still there. They're great places, where you grew up, and it does good to think of them from time to time. So thank you Ed for reminding me of the places I grew, and how important they place I am now is.
that was very lovely. i used to have a dog that looked just like the one in this video. her name was Lilly, and she was a light blonde golden retriever. i grew up with her. i'm sad that she's gone now.
Very moving. You always have this indescribable skill to let you're audience see inside your mind. I feel as though this is the world through your eyes. Thank you for that, it's wonderful.
This is precious and really touching, it's always hard to say goodbye to something that is that important, but giving it a send off makes it seem a bit easier. :)
GOSH Ed. You're so talented. I mean seriously. You are probally one of my favorite youtubers AND people. I hope you know how talented and loved you are. Every time I see you've made a new video I smile and my heart dances a little.
It's really tough to let go, esp for the precious things and memories. I miss my childhood too, the innocent mind and pure heart are things that made my world beautiful in my childhood. Though it's your last time to see this house but you have this chance for you to rewind the memories you had within this place. I think you are much luckier than me.. as my precious stuff fade away without me noticing and I have no chance to see it again...
I never had one childhood home, I moved around a lot. It's nice to see that you obviously had a home you grew up in, that you knew ever knook and cranny of :)
Thanks for this. :) I'm going through a lot of big changes in my life right now and I feel like this was exactly what I needed. "Life goes on and you've got to let it."
This almost had me crying for you. I've lived in the same house all of my life, it's going to be so sad leaving. Luckily my parents will probably stay, so I'll be able to visit.
I think the world would be a much better place if there were more people whose minds work the way yours does
The tiny handprint got my eyes watering a little. We moved around a lot when I was younger, so I don't really have anything like this to get nostalgic about. You're lucky about that I guess. Beautiful video.
that was probably one of the best videos i've seen in a long time :) the scenery is so beautiful, no wonder you'll miss that place
This had a strangely nostalgic feel for me, even though I've never been to any of these places. It was a wonderful feeling. Thank you!
Oh. I know this feeling, leaving a place like that... Making a video about it was a great idea.
Is it strange that I nearly cried at this? Very touching video
That is such a cool house. I wish my backyard was that cool.
Oh my god, that was beautiful.
I actually almost cried.
So much emotions
your channel is the best thing i have ever found on youtube
I don't cry a lot, you just made me weep like a baby -.- it's a beautiful place :)
You are by far my favourite youtuber. You make films, you don't just film things (:
i love that you're able to express yourself so well artistically. it reminded me of my old house, cuz we moved a few years ago. it was a BEAUTIFUL house, and now we live in a dum little house farm subdivision >.< i miss it. this video really got to me. thanks for making such beautiful videos :)
This video actually made me cry.
This is such a lovely piece of work. It broke my heart when we moved from my old house to the new one. The video is beautiful + i love the way you didn't need to use a fancy camera to make it look good. It made me cry!! Great vid, well done! :)xx
That was lovely. And not to mention the song was beautiful as well. :) Always a lovely to watch a video of yours.
Lovely video, I shed a tear when you put the monkey under the floor board.

Very inspiring Ed. I couldn't help but smile while watching. :)
Wow that place is amazing :) I'd find it difficult to leave.
awesome video :) it brought tears to my eyes... And you're lucky, I moved around too much to really have a childhouse...
Wow, you made me 'miss' your house. Impressive. Also, I can't believe you had your own hayloft. That's awesome, and it looks just like the one from the village in Resident Evil 4 - I've probably played that game too much...
This video was beautiful. :) That looks like such a fun place to grow up!
i would've tuned my guitar properly if i'd have known it'd be used for such a beautiful video. thanks a lot mate, this is incredible :)
this is the mist amazing place i've seen thanks for showing me!

Ahhh I always wanted a floor board hiding spot!
my house has been a part of my life for as long as i can remember (since i was about 2)
Who would have the heart to dislike this?
Absolutely wonderful :) well done.

Dude!!! You videos are AWESOME!!!
That was quite touching.
This was adoreable. Also, I want to like it but it's on 123 at the moment and I don't want to spoil it... But I promise to come back and like it once someone else has spoilt the pretty number
Maaaaan, you almost made me cry!
Checking all my floorboards now.
What a beautiful place.
That is quite lovely. I always loved the way you film on your videos. There's just something about it.
This makes me nostalgic of my old house back in the Philippines. I guess that'll always be my home.
How come this is your last visit?
im probubly over sentimental but that was beautifull it made me well up i sooo wish i had lose floorboards at my house that touched me it really did
I reckon, if you film yourself sleeping, you would still make it interesting! But this topic is really touching and deep. The monkey gave me a wet smile.
so beautiful ♥
aw so sweet..
@jwaacks this comment is lovely, read the video description if you have some time :4
Makes me really wish there were loose floor boards at my house.
That was your entire home? Its so big! (Or maybe in America everything is so cramped together that its hard to experience a wide open space that just has grass and nothing else there.)
Tha last part was really beautyfull
Love the snail, you should name it Stanley Featherfield
@EdgeOfTheInternet it's been spoiled...but honestly it was bound to happen...it's just too adorable :3
this made me cry :') xx
