I had that bridge for years, they wanted to simplify the locking stuff and just made it more complicated, also hated the locking nut behind the normal nut... But one of the most paper thin yet very comfortable necks I ever played, with decent pickups.
Hi man
I have been watching your channel now for last couple of weeks you are so down to earth and explain everything really well I hope you do really well with your shop just wish there was something like you in the UK keep rocking man love your channel😊❤
Yep, i had that same bridge and locking nut setup on an 1988 or 89 harmony strat copy, i got pretty good at changing the strings on it, it could be a pain though, i ended up replacing it with a WD floyd rose copy cause it was a drag for staying in tune if you used the tremolo bar very much, that really tripped me out seeing that bridge cause I've never seen one since i got rid of mine, thats a cool charvette
I have struggled with one of those bridges, they are a weird beast. The fine tuners are pushing down a piece of metal tube that you put your string through.
It’s also possible to accidentally push the high E off track inside the bridge, I found out.
Hey,Dane if you place the trem cover under the bridge will aligne the holes!Cheers!
I shouldn't say this BUT, those charvettes are GREAT guitars, the necks and bodies are charvel necks and bodies made by charvel Japan, your korean charverttes use different stuff, laminate bodies, but all in all pretty good necks, all charvel spec, good wood and fingerboards, frankly i've seen some DAMN good charvette korea necks, quartersawn brazilian so yea not too shabby, few but they didn't segregate if one fell into rotation it was used up, one i've seen ended up on my porch, I have seen a few others, not going into how you tell by looking right away but they are out there almost every maker has put em on at one point or another...
as you can see they have floyd rose bridges, decent pups, some have USA jackson pups, by chance again .. whatever was sent to the floor where they were assembling these guitars, grover did make a lot of sealed diecast tuners for em with the charvette name every bit as good as the jackson or charvel tuners, some are the trapazoid chynese, meh... most are rear routed guitars to save money on pick guards, but there are some with pick guards and some wee made by grover jackson, and that's a whole nuther deal cuz grover jackson at that time was in the USA.. and those charvettes are real nice... do your own homework there I already said too much, people will want em once they figure out what they are and the cost goes up, I still buy em when the price is right, tome they arent $400 guitars, not even $350.. $200 to me, all version save the grovers which I would go as high as $350 for a good example floyd rose, $300 fora 6pt SSS or HSS, a dual humbucker with USA jackson pups and a floyd rose id go $350-$400, not saying that's their value just all i'll pay, i don't pay exorbitant prices for common guitars, and despite what some people think or say these are about as rare as fingernails, as many charvettes as charvel out there, they pumped em out like squires for 5 years, korea really pumped em out, not saying or insinuating they are all in the USA cuz maybe 15-20% made their way here but thee are a boat load on this rock . . no way rare.. myself I like certain models, they made like 10 different models, even a thinline tele acousticish model. . lol
New music for "Todays String Choice" tune!? . I really enjoy watching these videos you make. They take me back to see guitars I have forgot about as well as show me guitars I have yet to see. ! I always thought I wanted a Charvel way back when. Again, you do a great job on these guitars. And you are doing a good service documenting all these guitars and bringing them back to life for a new generation to see and hear and play again. Keep up the good work !
My friend has this Axe. I was always into the Jackson model, but it was well outta my price range as a kid in the 1980's. Still nice thou
My best friend had one of those in the same colour, but with a reverse headstock. It sounded quite good and looked cool but could take your eye out if you got too close.
There nice guitars for the price thanks for the video
❤from England
Its a Charvette 250 with the Bendmaster tremolo. BTW its not a screw in trem bar, its a plug in with 3 height levels. In some regards nicer than some of my Floyds, but still a pain to change strings😊
Had mine since 89, just giving it a revamp! 🤘 swapping the trem out too it's crap! I have the bar except my daughter snapped one of the fine tune bolts 😫
The 12th fret wide inlay spacing would make it a Korean model.
Yes! I have a 170 Red/Black crackle bought it new, still have it , and the 12th fret dots are close together
Carvin! Bass made in USA I got one cheap! In up state Michigan on vacation and it’s the BEST ONE EVER!
I think its a Charvette Model 250 , Made in Korea, Japan are 170/270, Maybe some 200/250s are Japan
Yes! I have a 170 Red/Black crackle bought it new, still have it
Hey Now Dane, Happy 4th of July
Happy 4th Zimms and thank you Dane for all the killer videos hope to see you on Dave’s Guitar Channel this week.
Those guys are cool, they had a shop here in Paradise, CA for years.Custom guitars for the stars!
I have a Series 10 that looks almost identical to this!! Very cool
Used to jam with a guy that played a Charvette, cool guitar.
Not quite my thing, but he made it sing.
Hello i happen to hve thesame exact guitar. This has 72mm post to post distance, do you think a gotoh floyd or guitar fetish floyd that looks like a gotoh with straight edge knive fit in the original post without relocation the post?
Hey Dane! You post great videos. Been watching for about a year now. Wonder if we will ever see you fiddle around with amplifier wiring or new tube installs. Id enjoy watching that too. Take care!
Hi, it is actually a 250 model, 270 is slightly different, I think it's a shorter scale guitar.
That guitar is made from plywood , I had the exact model
Love these guitars. Bare bones shredder with a good neck. Sign me up.
Enjoyed the vid. RAWK!!! 🤘🏼
Wow man that's a sick guitar I love it.😃👍❤️🔥⚡️🎶🎸
👍
I think the Charvettes were made in korea. I believe, Charvette was the beginner line of guitars for Charvel.
I had a white one of those guitars in 1990, those bridges are terrible because they suck to string but the guitar itself was pretty cool!
I’d love to get this guitar ?
Dude had one of these in the snake skin crackle. It had some after market Floyd. Cool ass guitar but never was able to get it to hold tune, It really sucks because it was a well built guitar.
My second electric guitar i ever had was one just like that Charvette, but mine had a normal Floyd not the Bendmaster like that one..
@stupidfuckers Me gustaria si me podrías informar que modelo de Pickups tenía tu guitarra.
Yo tengo una Charvette 270 MIJ HSS y no tengo nada de información al respecto.
Thanks
I'll give you $2 for that POS bridge! #Art 😂😂😂 So much for changing a string quickly in the middle of a gig. Can you switch it out with something else? Anyway, I was going to say how much I learn watching your restrings and boy did I learn something today! At least it sounded pretty good right? Thanks Dane!
Todays String Choice.
🤟😁👍
I had one, I wish I still had it?
Very interesting
Get ahold of a original boogie body and neck you’ll have the real deal just put the good parts on it like the original charvel s.
Would love to drive that Charvette, right through a mesa boggie, cool car color.
Sweet charvel strat!
Happy 4th of July
