6 years ago, I dreamed of having PC that could make me play Dirt 3 on Ultra. Now, my PC is 4 times better but nostalgia for games diminished. I miss those days :(

This takes me back. I spent so many happy hours glued to the screen of my Xbox360 when I was younger, completely engrossed in this game. A real kick of nostalgia from this video

I recall as a ten year old kid, I had recieved a Playstation 1 and my first game for it called Colin Mcrae Rally during the morning, my mother told me to work extra hard in school and come home so that I could rightfully spend some quality time playing my new game. That day was one of the longest in my life, it felt like ages before the day was over and I could sift through the race tracks. How far the graphics engines and gaming community have come... It is insane! xD That day in school
It would take me like 5 retries before even being able to flawlessly finish the race. Even though your getting shitted on by people on here I'd say your still a better driver than most people. Good job!
dude dude dude u kidding? this guy is playing on casual, that means he has a steering assist which helps him to control the car and even dont brake ( because its automatic brake on casual) for it u dont have to be a skilled deiver u just press acceleration and right,left...
This game was huge for its time and aged well, its still my favorite rally game and im a fan of dirt rally 2 with zero assists This is definitely a arcade/simulator, fully dependent on player settings... but, the roads are way too wide for simulation... as with every race simulator, theres not realistic damage but you can lose wheels/total at high speed. No gas usage, transmission cant break, no clutch, cant fully tune the car but there is a decent amount of settings. This is the one dirt game the got right, it had wheel support, 3d stereoscopic tv support, and everything about the game was basically right for what it is. 9 out of 10 honestly. Dirt rally is ehhhh it supports psvr which was great. Along with g29 support which absolutely feels like a high end gaming wheel. But dirt 2 is better in every other way minus the lack of vr support. But, honestly, i think maybe vr is a bit too much for the real world, the only game i ever felt like i truly needed vr for was honestly gta5 if it had gta4 physics and *ABOVE ALL ELSE, skyrim with up to 4 players and fixes to gameplay* and id also have been completely enamored by Outer Wilds with vr. Minecraft having it is awesome, i just heavily dislike the block characters, it needs daggerfall 2d sprite characters. No mans sky having was fun on a mushroom trip, but, other than that, its different. Its just not skyrim. Especially for a stoner, it would have been incredible to get 3 other friends playing skyrim together, no pausing, and agreeing when to stop and smoke up around a in game location just chilling and potentially talking about life or the game itself.... wow... phenomenal idea... we all would have absolutely appreciated that trip.... wow..

Yes i was thinking on waiting a bit longer before upgrading to my next rig.I used to have to upgrade about every year or so in order to play the best graphically demanding games out there. I have noticed recently that this is not really needed any more. I think we have reached a point were companies are spending more time on upgrading graphics engines which still run good with existing hardware as opposed to having to completely upgrade hardware in order to run new demanding games. This is good!
yeah. the car is made for the pikes peak hill climb race, which is a race ending at 4,100m above sea level..air pressure decreases with altitude and the pressure is halved at 5500m above sea level, so in order to maintain the needed downforce, the spoiler has to be large. also they are so powerful (~800BHP), well because they can, and because the engine produces roughly half the power at said 5500m above sea level. (of course the gas intake reduces, so the work, the engine produces, is the same)

Even if you redeem it and maybe play it later you might love the game, he hasn't downloaded Gears 1/3/Judgement, Halo Reach, Civilization revolution and now he wont download this... the only game he downloaded was Assassins Creed which he wasn't sure of and he fucking loved it... I downloaded Viva Pinata aha, no real intentions of playing it but sometimes a theme or a mood will strike me where I want a game like this and when it happens the difference is my friend moans about being bored and wanting to be "X" game and I moan about waiting for "X" game to install.

I remember playing this at a family-friend's house once and having a pretty good time with it. What kept me playing were the surprisingly tight and responsive controls for a sim game! I'll have to pick it up for myself sometime.

Nice Video! DIRT 3 has super graphics. I like the Monaco Rally Races best. I have some HD videos and G27 wheel :) But Codemasters Toca Race Driver 3 was, and still is the Best Ever Racing Game! imo Many Online Players 2014 (for PC)

Man, I owned a gigabyte HD6990 from Oct 2011 till I sold it in March 2014. What a beast! (if works). Too bad it's a big mistake to own the GPU since AMD driver was suck back then.
Only thing i hate bout this game, is compared to Dirt 2, when you hit the gravel roads, there is hardly any dust to show your on a gravel road. Dirt 2 had your screen filled with dust, and when you watch your replay your car leaves behind dust trails

No. Its not, its a really good simulator if you turn assists off. In fact, its the best rally simulator of this generation.

That Fiesta in real life can hit 60 mph on dirt as fast as (if not faster than) a 458 can hit it on tarmac.
