Imagine being an intelligent supercomputer capable of many smart and genius things and your trainer just commands you to blow up Turn 1
It's the most logical move. It'll come back. It's knows that. Metagross is the goat.
Emergency safety protocol to stop the enemy from seeing your browser history.
I lead with swampert and just protect turn one. Works every time.
This prompted me to check out the Metagross pokedex entries and jesus christ... "When hunting, this Pokémon pins the prey to the ground under its massive body. It then eats the helpless victim using the large mouth on its stomach."
I love Metagross because it’s a Psuedo without Dragon Typing.
Tyranitar isn’t a Dragon type but it is Godzilla which is close enough
Even then, Tyranitar is still unique as a pseudo like Metagross compared to the bunch of dragons we got over the years.
@@xendra333 can it really be unique when Metagross is in the “Non Dragon Pseudo Club” too?
Volcarona should have been a pseudo legendary. It fits so well, a bug type which is often a three stage, a cool backstory and unique in-game cathing location, the original champions ace, and a complement to Ghetsis using the other pseudo legendary. Still a missed opportunity to add another non dragon.
I really just want another non dragon pseudo. We got 3 new 600 bst mons in gen 9 and all of them were dragon. Baxcalibur, hoodra, and archaludon.
Gamefreak:
Gen 1: you get a Pseudo
Gen 2: you get a Pseudo.
Gen 3: you get….. TWO🎉🎉🎉

Thank you for questioning the state of locomotion of my refrigerator Jimothy! I decided to investigate my kitchen and discovered that a Rotom-Frost was indeed on the move with its base 86 Speed stat! Luckily I caught up to it before it could abscond with my fridge thanks to your inquiry, for which I am very grateful.
meteor mash attack raise
@@arkelon You know a move is bad when it is constantly missing, and almost at Focus Blast levels of missing.
Its a pity that metagross struggles with its weakness to magcargo:
252+ SpA Magcargo Overheat vs. 128 HP / 0 SpD Metagross: 397-468 (119.2 - 140.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Emerald Battle Tower speedrun strat- Put Choice Band on Metagross. Click Mash. Continue for 3-4 rounds and switch to Latios.
In addition to its immediate success in the competitive scene, it also enjoyed immediate success within the hearts of Pokémon fans, due to its objectively cool design.
@@gregorymirabella1423 What were the nerfs? Were they the changes to Steel's resistances in Gen 6?
@@MMurine i think they also nerfed meteor mash? That or just like nothing, they literaly gave meta nothing for the past 2 gens but Idk tho
@@MMurine yup, also meteor mash lost 10 base power for no reason.
@gregorymirabella1423 That was gen 6, they nerfed a bunch of moves base power
Great lead in the lead meta, best sweeper in the meta game, great mixed attacker, and can even be defensive with toxic and protect plus it’s typing.
Something i realized a while back was 'huh, there are sure a lot of steel resists in gen 3 OU'
Im sure you can guess my next realization
"This means metagross must be good because of its great coverage options! Right? ...r-right?"
"Haha banded meteor mash go brrr"
"My main goal, is to blowup."
Well, not exactly.
Game Freak: Tyranitar! You shall have Sand Stream. Salamance! Intimidate! Metagross! Clear Body! And you Dragonite...
can get Inner Focus.
Dragonite : Why!? I am the original pseudo legendary!!
non dragon pseudos go hard
i wish gamefreak remembered that
Agility Metagross is my all-time favorite competitive set across all gens of mons, it's so easy to put on teams.
A genius supercomputer such as metagross is surely enjoying the fridge right now, and you should too.
Jim x LRXC was a killer crossover. Looking forward to you getting BKC on.
Once had 2 straight meteor mash attack boosts in a row after an agility
Metagross is so based. It's a damn shame every Pseudo Legendary has to be a Dragon-type now, and for what reason? "Tradition"? I like the Dragon Pseudo Legendary Pokémon, sure, but even using the "tradition" logic, Gen 3 set the precedent that we can have up to _two_ Pseudo Legendarys in a generation, and at least _one_ can be non-Dragon. Gen 9 shows us they clearly don't give a Rattata's ass about power scaling to absurdity, so where's the hesitation of giving us two Pseudos in one generation coming from? I want to see more 3 stage 600 BST behemoths like Tyranitar and Metagross!
The best Pokémon ever made! Please just give it shift gear so it can keep up with power creep!!
Not enough at this point,it needs tough claw back as well for a chance,OU is DISGUSTING these days
They even gave it actual stab moves and knock off, and it still wasn't enough.
@@gregorymirabella1423it's doing quite well in UU iirc which is pretty good tbh
@@svantecarlsson8297 yeah, i just wish it was better than that. give it a regional form that swaps psychic for fairy and it'll shred ou in no time.
Metagross debuted in the generation 3 pokemon games, where it saw immediate success in the competitive scene
Metagross has been a top tier staple since the beginning, and that will not be changing anytime soon.
Metagross would never be as great as it is without the help of its best friend Seviper. Please show your appreciation for Seviper's efforts in the comments below.
I've one at least 5 matches from protecting first turn as their lead Metagross explodes, thus causing them to forfeit.
Bulky Metagross with protect is one of my favourite options to use on because of how often my opponent will switch in what they think is a revenge kill like Magneton, Dugtrio or Swampert, only for Metagross to just Live a EQ or Thunderbolt and explode on them back.
It's a metagross monday folks
Jimothy's fridge started running before Gholdengo and Kingambit get banned from Generation 9 OU. This is insane, folks.
Lrxc had one of my favorite videos from last year when he got the battle factory record gonna rewatch it after this
Nuzlocking gen 3 has a legit terrifying final boss in which to have to have in mind since moment 1.
Metagross forces progress in battle on slower paced teams as well as provides a sturdy defensive presence for more offense oriented teams. It will often be in the thick of the battle and provide a lot of value. It’s a great mon.
Shadow ball works really well also since ghost is physical in gen 3 and it gives you a tool to use against fellow psychic pokemon
For an iron-clad leg up on the competition, you can't go wrong with the Iron Leg pokemon.
It’s Metagross Monday, folks
What if you wanted to get into heaven, but god said, Metagross' attack rose.
thats the fastest fridge in the current metagame
Here’s an idea for a non-dragon pseudolegendary: Astramoth. It resembles a large moth, with a wingspan of over eight feet, with dark blue wings with starry patterns, its body looking like a rocket ship. For a typing, it is a Bug/Psychic type.
Dex Entry 1: Astramoth spends its entire life far above the clouds, living in space. It flies through the airless void with its psychic powers.
Dex Entry 2: Despite its massive size, Astramoth is a peaceful creature. It feeds on starlight, with wings that resemble constellations.
For abilities, I’m thinking of it getting Astral Wings, which raises its Sp. Def by 50% under psychic terrain for a custom ability, which is its Hidden Ability. Its regular abilities are Compound Eyes and Magic Bounce.
For a stat spread, I’m thinking Astramoth would be a special attacker with speed and bulk, with 95-65-75-125-130-110 stats.
As for moves, it gets Bug Buzz, Struggle Bug, and Infestation as powerful Bug STAB options, Quiver Dance for setup, and Pollen Puff to heal its teammates, Psychic, Psyshock, Expanding Force, Stored Power, and Future Sight as powerful Psychic STAB options, and access to Psychic Terrain, Cosmic Power, Gravity, and screens for support. For coverage, it gets options like Dazzling Gleam, Moonblast, Hurricane, Rock Slide, Meteor Beam, Draco Meteor, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Solar Beam, Energy Ball, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Dark Pulse, and Terrain Pulse. Other status moves it can learn include Tailwind, Defog, Moonlight, Whirlwind, Sleep Powder, Poison Powder, Stun Spore, and Rage Powder.
For a signature move, I’d go with Astral Gale, a Psychic-type special move that has 100 power, 100% accuracy, and 10 PP that hits all adjacent Pokémon. It also has 50% more power if there’s no weather active. Which kinda makes sense, Astramoth lives in space, where there’s no weather.
THE GOAT
Glad to see Cyberodin is still playing after more than a decade
My favorite Pokemon. Thank you.
I love that satisfying feeling of clicking Agility and then getting an Attack raise on Meteor Mash.
Meteror mash hitting 4x in a row gtfo here with that 😂
Cant wait for iron fridgeulos. I need a new one and who better to get one from than jimothy
It's about time!
Steel resisting Ghost and Dark was sick at that time.
Give this guy Shift Gear already
Meteor Mash misses: i sleep 😴
Meteor Mash boosts attack stat: bru 🫠
Crazy how Psychic/Steel went from a top tier combo to middling at best, losing resistances to Dark/Ghost, both of which got better with time as well as Psychic falling off hurt it a lot
Band with shadow ball instead of psychic is a really fun set
I still remember my banded +1 Metagross scoring a clean ohko on opposing metagross with a crit
this mf carried me in all battle frontier, it probably is the best pokemon in the game
Its Metagross Monday everyone
choice band metegross is one of few physical attackers that defensive porygon can't safely switch in on (the others are: anything with focus punch, breloom, choice banded salamance brick break, blaziken, and heracross)
Ah metagross my goat forever
It’s sometimes said that every strong and consistent adv team needs either sand or spikes. I disagree since there’re some cm pass, special offense, or bulky magdol teams that don’t necessarily need those. However, I would argue that every adv team that does not run sand or spikes does absolutely need a metagross to be consistent at top level
Metagross in Gen 4 is AMAZING 😍
It’s funny how after 3 generations of fairly drastic changes, gen 6 mega meta ended up being kind of the same thing as gen 3 regular meta, impossible to safely switch into, smashing through walls with meteor mash hax, no obvious deficits in its toolkit or stat spread with even surprise special attacking options being deadly in their own right. Wack that it didn’t get banned.
My favourite pokemon ever since I saw it in emerald
If meteor Mash could not miss Meta would be a top 3 pokemon, but it does miss to meany times.
I’ve been playing with a CB lead metagross offence and I get a lot of favorable lead matchups. I even just explode T1 to catch something on the switch. In many games I’ve won because I baited my opponent’s skarmory and OHKOed it eith explosion.
Gross is probably the biggest reason to use a fire type because they are the only mons capable of koing it from high health.
Amms. Agility Meteor Mash Spam.
Oh how psudos fall I still love how dragonite which was one of the worst psudos has only been getting better post gen 5
real sentient machine hours

every metagross has it's meta
252+ Atk Metagross Meteor Mash vs. 4 HP / 252 Def Iron Mugulis: 330-388 (50.6 - 59.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
how would you feel about asking Reverend to be on The Fridge? he's a cool guy
Sad to see it be nerfed in Gen 6 with the change to Steel being Neutral to Dark and Ghost, but it was very nessesary just to Nerf Metagross (Who had Meta in his name for a reason and it was a gross one)
2:11 Minor correction that does not matter at all: While this changes basically nothing, Clear Body only prevents stats being lowered by others.
I love Metagross
ohhh. because he's cool
I think we are very lucky scarf was added in gen 4
the things about Megahorn is that it is a bug type move, the most resisted type. Game Freak thankfully buffed it by introducing the fairy type, right? No, fairy types also resist bug... x.x
Perhaps U-Turn would be too broken if we don't have enough bug resisting types.
Metagross is the first paradox me not lying it's the iron hands pokemon
Metagross mondays
That power is meta gross.

Metagross might be able to power through the Paradox Pokémon iron muglius, I urge you to stay informed by playing Gen 3 ou.
Its kind of weird gen 3 made gen 2 pokemon/types so much better.
if mash had a 20% to lower the foe's defense instead of raising attack, would the meta be better off?

Blisey is more broken. With the new baton pass clause Blissey is more deadly. For example she resist +3 Gyarados adamant. Is very bulk, and unhealth.
I see teams with Blissey and Chansey. Is cancer.
did u change tbe outro bevause viper is evil
Metagross may be cool and good but if I ranked it based on its back sprite it would not rank very highly let me say that much.
