X-LARGE CAR! Love to see it hooked up with the reefer, I'm assuming you have a fluted stainless reefer. For practicality I'd say no to this, but the man obviously loves his truck, as he should. If it's what you want you'll make it work. Beautiful machine. Roll on!
That looks awesome. I’d prefer the flat top sleeper but I really like this look. I like everything about it
Sat in the back lot at the Pharr dealership for a looooooooong time! Cool truck just to go stand next too!
That is one bad ass tractor, I love the sticks, thought I was the last person in the world who preferred a pair of sticks over an air box. Keep on trucking in style brother, that's one fine ride. 😎
PERFECT TRUCK
Would look GREAT hooked up to a spread axle bull rack. OLD SCOOL KOOL.
Old school never had ridiculous stretch trucks. I usually can't find fault with any truck but this is just ridiculous and impractical.
Drove a 300" wb KW for a friend a couple of times. What a pain. Last time I saw it was sitting at a dealer in Washington.
Kml ikr longer truck are very hard to manuver or to park containers in a tight spot😂😂😂😂😂
i probably had something to do with that truck since i worked at Peterbilt Denton at that time and was rare to see a 6x4 setup. Hard to believe the low mileage, great find.
this is my kind of trucks long low and large and twin sticks 💪 thats the way a truck should be!
Waow waow !!! Black Pete , with a c15 cat!!???
That’s one bad truck !
I bet that thing is a beast to maneuver in a crowded terminal and traffic.
How the hell do you get any weight on your steer axle?
Engine and cab. Although with no trailer that truck would be fun. No weight on the rears makes for an adventure.
90% of the guys who think it's perfect, couldn't get it into a dock. But I agree, it's a sweet ride.
If it were a flat top 10x nicer!!!
If I ever hit the lottery’ I’d be cruising around in one just like that beauty...
Why 350 inch wheelbase makes no sense to me
Hey mixer man , practical is considered cool....
Impractical is considered ridiculous......
Chuck Marquart ya well.... that’s just your opinion. My opinion is long wheelbase looks sweet as sweet gets. I’m sure it can be difficult at times but cool comes with a price. It’s not like your driving it so why care if it’s ridiculous. No one asked your opinion anyway.
Beautiful! Nice guy too! You can tell by the way he talks..🇺🇸
14.9 miles when he brought it home after sitting for 17 years?
300 is my maximum number to reach, in order to make some extra money with it. GOOD LOOKING.
I always wanted to know. Why such a long wheel base aren't you unable to put weight on your stear axle
If any of you have to ask why? Then you just don’t understand trucking. The job is a 50/50 job. Half the job is how good you do it. The other half is how good you look while doing it.
Like I cant believe theres 46 people ( thumbs down ) that didnt like this truck ... Youre right, you just dont understand trucking
I know Mel Lewis personally, he's a different person, great guy though. I worked on his previous 2 trucks. His current truck is an 07 379 with a 625 Acert and 350" wheelbase. Yellow
I live in Aptos, work on a ranch in Watsonville and am applying for truck school. Was surprised to hear Watsonville on here lol
Yep high centered it again boss
Why was it parked with no miles and sit for almost 20 years ?
It's a dump truck with a sleeper on it
Beautiful rig!!!
Bull hauling Truck looks good with a shiny bull rack or a all black Hopper bottom very nice most definitely a head Turner
Love me a Pete with a 6and4 😎
Absolutely bad ass truck!!👍
40000 ltwt no wonder it's only got 30000 miles on it. Dude went broke in two months with that tank.
The guy that bought it used said it had 14 miles when he picked it up then said it had 30,000. Which is correct? 30000 sounds more like it but how come?? Owner couldn’t drive it????? It sure looks cool, would make a great show truck!!
XX X, the guy talking bought it second hand with 14.? On it. Said that he had started working it some in April and now it has 32,000 on it.
Mike runs this truck!!! Everyday. Great guy and it looks "TOP SHELF" in person.
Would like to see a video with it hooked up to that spread axle .
I would sure like to sit in the left hand seat of that truck! Man that would be fun to drive! Dedicated run from say San Antonio to LA would be just the ticket. Both sticks against the dash and let-er roll!🤩
Wayne Co. Ia Good folks from Iowa . Cool Truck
Why would anyone stretch one so long with such a short sleeper?
Why would you go from 11R24.5s to 22.5s. That’s a downgrade.
Wish I had the vin # on that to look up the boxes to find out what they are. Surely can't be the same as the old 6×4 that were behind the 3408 Cat rated at 450 hp.
Dallas Thomas I think they would be. Cause he said it didn’t have a sleeper when they got it cause they had to specify it was off road or heavy haul truck. Only thing was they put the 3.36’s in it instead of the lower gears.
Brent is probably right. Amo1750-c for the auxiliary and a PS140-6a 6speed for the main box. An auxiliary 1241-d is only rated at 1450 torque, so wouldn’t be my first thoughts. If your gonna run a set of boxes behind a motor, be mindful of the boost(right foot). Nothing over 40lbs if you have a gauge. It’s torque not horsepower that ruins the transmissions.
That is beautiful. I want it!
Damn !!! That is a nice ride. That Wheelbase is Awesome !!
I would never sell that Truck. Aren't you over length in some states ? Thx for sharing. I hope too see more videos.
You can’t really drive that trought the city of NYC cause is too long right ?
Looks cool. That's about it.
Nice 👌
But what tf is the point of a wheelbase with that much length?
I would think top end would be a little higher then 120. Back in ‘05 I had a big Pete that had a 13 speed in it I don’t remember the gear in the back but seem like they were 3.35 or 3.33 cause top end on it was 103@2100.
I have a 381" pete 352 with a coffin sleeper... I "retro" swapped a chipped 730 hp ISX 15 cummins in and paired it to a 18 speed eaton, I have 2.66 rears and low pro 24.5's. Max rpm is 2100 rpm and it cruises at 90 at 1400 ish rpm. I normally keep the rpm's at 1200 and pulling ill shift at 18.
In other words yes you're probably right haha
I want to see this thing hauling and moving!
Wish he would've left the 24.5 aluminum wheels on it!!!! Nice LARGECAR btw!!!😎🙃🙂
120 in OD? I remember the feeling of having 25 points on my record from large cars, and my heavy ass right foot. I would love to have that truck tho to haul toys with.
I bet you he doesn't take that out to New York City lol
He takes it Costco coast. Makes deliveries and puck ups in New York city. He was at hunts point a few weeks ago.
@@jasondial9188 no I haven't I haven't driven over the road since 1990 and I haven't driven truck since 2009
What is the purpose of stretching the frame?
The ride is great but I won’t go past 300. I got a 280 and it’s grrrrrreat!!!!
Its a “my d_ck is bigger than yours” thing, just like lifted 4x4 trucks, serves no purpose other than make people notice it.
Rollback or wrecker would be the right idea here!
i thought 300wd was stupid but this is at another stupid level, the twin stick is just icing on the stupid level
Way nicer than project 350
Thumbs Up liked video for you.
I wouldn't want to back up that rig in a tight delivery yard. No thanks
That's one long truck.
Must have to drop the trailer out on the street and get the shunt truck to put her in the dock..
That's just ridiculous overkill
Well I've seen clown cars....this takes it to another level as a clown truck....47 yr's on the road and this thing wouldn't get into half the places I ever hauled into or out of.
I know a old man had a 350 and hauled for nasa. Sleeper window is the trick to backing look through sleeper window can see whole side because your long can’t do that with a 240 wb
you must have not pulled different types of freight or trailer or ??? jealous ??? hmmmmm
Buddy Ratcliff most of these guys wouldn’t understand that but yes you are right!
Multi drop and multi pick in & out of California. He's always got nice Peterbilts.
That’s an awesome truck! Wouldn’t mind being the owner
Mmmmmm no I'd rather have normal wheel base something you culd bak in off a Brooklyn street
Who in hell thought this was a good idea to build
a truck this long and go make money with it !!!
Makes about as much sense as building a show
car to use as a taxi lollll. Looks cool il agree but man
did someone lack attention when he was a kid lolll,
This truck was yellow when mel had it
Pain in the ass to turn
im guessing its set up for a pto,so when there is no high paying OTR freight,he can unbolt the 5th wheel & bolt on a 16 foot dump bed.what the hell,he may as well kill two birds with one stone.
I can paint it get ahold of me
Bet he has alot of trouble making right turns
My Pete is a 300 Wheelbase and it rides great but turning in tight spots is a nightmare
Looks good for show but it's just a waste of money. 350 wheel base. I had 310 and really not a lot of places where you could take these long trucks except for seal barns and pins . Keep on trucking. truck um up .
looks good but everything is long now, i think its gonna be like a fat rear tire chopper phase, now nobody wwnt the rear meats tgey back to skinny, nice truck tho
Nice truck except the rediculouse long frame its as bad as puting 24 inch rims on a ford pinto
@@gustavomendoza6028 42+ years of driving truck i think its dumb we have length restrictions out here and for years the max length was 65 feet most of the places ive been youcouldnt get in the dock with trucks long like that
I don’t have that issue anywhere ..couple tight spots here n there but nothing to worry about ..
Sure, it's a beautiful truck. Absolutely. Except for the ridiculous long wheelbase. What exactly is the benefit of having a wheelbase so long? I dont see any advantage.
I can see a Rig Up truck have a WB that long, but.......
With a trailer hooked to it it will be an economical nightmare due to the non-existant aerodynamics, and since it's so long you're gonna take up a LOT of space on the customer's yards, as well as sometme having trouble even getting into some spaces. Never understoond why Americans are so fond of stretching their trucks. All you're gonna be able to load are 2 bags of chips before you hit the 80 000lb limit.
How just 3 photos can be used too seem like 33 ...lmao Otherwise nice-sssssssss rig\ large car [flat top would be a 10]
a truck that impractical isnt going to have many miles.
Low miles,no work cant work,wont work .
Sorry driver overkill.
Sure they will make anything you want .Thier not driving it thats why.
I have a 330 ,just alittle to much.
Hard on steering tires, front spring hangers and bearings.
Universal joints.
Ect. And in the long run rear ends.
Im not a hater ,i run my ass off. Highway and oil feild ,trucks too hard on it self.
Great on the ice.
But for local deliver nope.
Aint much freight you can haul if you already at 40,000 before you even start to load! What a waste of money. Nice if you make money as a show truck but not much else
Really isn't any sense in a wb that long.
Thats one hell of a looooong ass drive train/ wheel base which equals hela drag.. what you get like 1.8mpg 🤣
Long as hell
Too damn long
Toooo long!
Useless with a 5th wheel
What a useless truck.
Òò 9th oó
That looks crap
Bull shit , the original owner of the truck was Richie Acosta . He did all the work on it , and now all this punks are claiming the build
Nice truck but their is no such thing as a 3406 6Nz
3406 reffered to all C-15 engines including G the 6nz & accert engines
I seen that truck on I-5 almost broke my neck.
Do you want to sell this bad boy and how much...
@@richardvinson7667 he didn’t say it was his lmao
