I've lived in Fort Wayne since my parents moved us here from Florida in 1980. It's not bad, but can be a little vanilla and boring, but the cost of living is below the national average, and it has excellent schools and three major hospitals, including a nationally rated regional medical center. Fort Wayne also has an excellent zoo that rivals those of many cities several times larger. One interesting historical fact that you touched on a little is the old fort itself. The French were the first to build a fort here in the 1600s, but it was little more than a trading post with the natives. After the French and Indian War, the French were more or less expelled, and it wasn't until around 40 years later that George Washington sent Revolutionary War hero, General "Mad" Anthony Wayne, to build the first American fort. A young America was trying to expand west then, but the area was teeming with hostile Miami Indians who often killed American settlers. Mad Anthony was sent to eliminate the native threat. There was so much fighting in the area that you can still wander the fields and river banks in and around Fort Wayne and find stone arrowheads and axeheads as well as buttons from late 1700s US Army uniforms. Bonus fun fact: the city of Fort Wayne is older than the state of Indiana by about 20 years.
Fort Wayne is an up and coming city that is going places and has a very bright future ahead. It's downtown is really changing with a lot of building projects going on over there especially with its riverfront development which is now entering in its second phase of construction. Fort Wayne really got it going on over there so stay tuned.
I had been there multiple times, in a different season visiting friends. Beautiful city, it maybe boring for younger people. Teenagers But nice city if you want to raise families with out all the problems you’ll see in bigger cities, like LA,NEW YORK etc.
Very nice! That is great to know. I enjoyed exploring the city. I agree that I did not see many attractions there for younger people to enjoy (except the parks along the river), but it is great for people whom are interested in history.
Scottman, my girlfriend and I watched some of your videos while we prepared for a trip to the East coast and your other video on Southaven (Which we are returning to this weekend) your recommendations have never led us astray, and now you've made a video about her hometown! We will both be watching this tonight and can't wait to see what you think the city has to offer :)
That's awesome! I'm glad you found those videos very helpful. It's cool that your girlfriend is from Fort Wayne! I hope you both enjoy the video! I had a great time exploring the city.
There’s alot of history of the miami indians and battle there i only live 32 miles from there your close to ft. Recovery oh same indians defeated the army there Thanks for sharing Happy holidays
Good afternoon Scottman895! How are you doing this afternoon? I have another video request from you. Could you do a driving tour video of Saginaw, MI sometime next year? I am interested in learning more about it since I have been past it. It is a beautiful city with lots of history. Could you also do driving tour videos of Midland, MI and Bay City, MI sometime next year? I have been to those cities but don't know much about them. I am interested in learning more about those two cities. Could you also do a driving tour of Monroe, MI sometime next year? I am interested in learning more about it. Thank you so much for the consideration. Happy Holidays and I will see you in the next video.
I live in FW and the town is being turned into a 15 minute city, complete with over development and losing 200 year old trees, the ruin of farmland, destruction of historical buildings and houses, to build expensive tiny urban condos. Crime, pollution, traffic, illegals, escalating prices and taxes, homeless crisis, and the results of poor policy are by-products. The character and unique features are gone. Scorching summers with high humidity and dreaded mosquitoes and frigid dark winters. Prepare accordingly.
I can't imagine why anyone would want to spend a weekend in Fort Wayne Indiana? I guess if your plane has to make an emergency landing there and you can't get another plain until Monday so you're forced to stay there over the weekend then this could come in handy but I think I'd just stay in my hotel room and catch up TV shows I'd missed while I ate Dominos pizza.
Yes, Fort Wayne is a good city, I've been living in the area ever since the day that I was born. As a native, we are welcoming to visitors, but if you're going to move here, please do not bring your politics with you, Chicago has been bringing in a lot problems.
With all the respect you deserved , could you p,ease video to pointing the camera to the other way ; is better way to show the. Interés points , i don’t mind if you do the presentation with-your face , you can be the narrative artist or person from the better view , the interesting places

Thank you very much for the very valuable information! This is quite interesting I have to say!
Is your room in the basement of the house and do you spend a lot of time playing video games, eating pizza, drinking Mountain Dew and burning incense?

Thanks for watching!

That's great to hear! I was quite impressed with the city when I was there last month. I can't wait to see how things go in the coming years!
Fort Wayne government needs to understand that it is not Indianapolis, and never will be. They want to be Indianapolis so bad, they can't stand it.
Great video Scott. Promenade Park looks really cool.
Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Thank you very much! I really enjoyed that park especially at golden hour. Happy Holidays to you and your family too!
Great Video - welcome to Indiana - Fort Wayne is great... belated Merry Christmas, early Happy New Year
Thank you very much! I really enjoyed my time in Fort Wayne. Merry Christmas and early Happy New Year to you too!
great video brother! appreciate you doing the video!
Thanks for watching!
Sadly Coney Island was sold a number of years ago. Mr Coney (north side of town) is where we go and it's still owned by the original family.
Thanks for sharing. That's rather interesting to know!
You're right, Mr Coney is the best.

Merry Christmas Scott!
Merry Christmas to you too!
Another cool place to have dinner is Proximo. It's really good.
I'll have to try that on a future trip to Fort Wayne. Thanks for the recommendation!

Well I’m from Chicago me and my husband and our kids thinking about move out there we not bad people at all just looking for a better life
Fort Wayne could be better if we could only get rid of the mayor! 🎉 Tom D. all the way!
That didn't age well.
First
Yay!

As a Fort Wayne resident, my city is not worth your time. Try somewhere else.
Nice trick to keep immigrants away
Why don’t you move? That would be better for you and the city (win/win) 🎉
