    We see at about 2:20 that what has lately been expressed by "Thumbing the nose" was apparently done with the little finger in 1920 ! Hooray for Social History Trivia !

      Yes! This form of "cocking a snook" does turn up in this reverse form in films from the silent era. Although, I'm not sure of the meaning or origin of doing the gesture this way...

      @@silentfilmmusic I hadn't heard that term before, thank you ! As far as the meaning, I'm presuming it's not greatly different from the thumb to nose, but it would seem to show greater skill in the act, my hand doesn't turn around that easily ! Keep up the good work !
