It's not about romance actually, it's about the young girl Anne struggling to fit in to her knew environment. Sure in every show there is a bit of romance, but that is not the main story. Also it was a book first, then a movie now a TV show. There are 3 seasons. XD and I love your reaction to the red hair thing, I was the same way, I am a redhead as well and I hate how she puts herself down constantly about her beautiful red hair.
She didn't touch the brooch, she made up the lie about losing it because Marilla said that if she confessed, she could stay. So Anne took her at her word and made up a story about how the brooch was lost, thinking it was what Marilla wanted to hear.
It seems like at first you thought Merilla and Matthew are in a relationship/married by what you were saying. Just to clear it up they are brother and sister haha I thought they were married or something at the beginning too!
Anne with an e is one of my alltime favorite shows. I grew up reading the anne of greengables books over and over as a child so anne just has a special place in my heart. Another show I think you would enjoy, entirely different genre tho, shadowhunters. It has 3 seasons and its finished. I would love to see your reaction to that show as well
Glad you liked it. Be aware this show can be ridiculously cheesy, anachronistic and inconsistent with the characters but when it's good (and it often is) it really shines!
