    he can play absolutely anything,as fast as anyone,but he's so musically mature he reins it in.BRILL.

    • @voodoochile68686
      @voodoochile68686 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      mark smith I don’t agree that reining in is mature, that seems to be a common ideology. I enjoy both bill evans and pig destroyer and I don’t feel ashamed. Personally i would prefer if he played 10x more fast things.

    • @MrWomax
      @MrWomax 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@voodoochile68686 reigning in *is* mature wether you agree or not. Does not mean he forces himself to always play slow. It means he can avoid playing like an idiot when speed is not what is needed in a piece or a moment.

      @scottsomers7679 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      MrWomax since when are there such things as musical idiots..the cynicism bred by institutionalization of higher music will be nullified by the return of communal music sharing, when the next thing comes around, and all these plethoras of ideas will be seen as what they truly are, magazine articles

    • @scottsomers7679

      and anyone who plays what they like is playing what they should, and the word play is not for use by lawyers and fanatics

    Semplicemente eccellente!
    Ho apprezzato di recente un suo allievo catalano, il giovane talento Miki Santamaria (uomo Yamaha) certo, l'originale e' qualcosa di ultraterreno, ma poi, secondo me, con artisti come Gary (in verità... come se ce ne fossero tanti così...) la cosa meravigliosa e' lo STILE!
    Gusto, talento, tecnica = STILE!
    Grazie Gary per tutto questo
    Ero lì' quella sera e, oltre a molto altro di cui ho discusso con tutto il formidabile personale di Mogar, tra casse e teste Mesa e case Gator, ho molti Ibanez, tra bassi, chitarre, ampli Promethean ecc.
    In attesa di Adam Nitti in versione "abbordabile" miei attuali "giocattoli" sono proprio Gerald Veasley GVB 36 e Gary Willis GWB 35
    Grazie Gary,
    Grazie Davide,
    Claudio Vallese

      Learn to play four-note patterns using three fingers. Requires a lot of two hand coordination, and is rhythmically complex, but then you may be able to do what Gary does. Flamenco players use that too.

  • @williamevans7978

    Two contrasting approaches (attacks): I still hold Chris Squire to be the most sublime; I am a James Willis fan, to be sure, and there are things either can do in a way the other cannot, but Squire has the greater World-Historical significance of any Bassist of the last two centuries-

    a boring performance it would've been way more interesting with a looper but instead he relies on prerecorded instruments
