I love 'norwegian wood', and the rest, too. It sounds beatiful. WOW!!! Mindblowin groove, bass heaven on earth. Amazing Performance. Gary is a magican. A very 😎cool event. I just want to grab my bass!!!! Thanx for upload.
mark smith I don’t agree that reining in is mature, that seems to be a common ideology. I enjoy both bill evans and pig destroyer and I don’t feel ashamed. Personally i would prefer if he played 10x more fast things.
@@voodoochile68686 reigning in *is* mature wether you agree or not. Does not mean he forces himself to always play slow. It means he can avoid playing like an idiot when speed is not what is needed in a piece or a moment.
MrWomax since when are there such things as musical idiots..the cynicism bred by institutionalization of higher music will be nullified by the return of communal music sharing, when the next thing comes around, and all these plethoras of ideas will be seen as what they truly are, magazine articles
Semplicemente eccellente!
Billy Likitsakos music there are few lessons from him online explaining give it a search. I'm trying my best to incorporate his technique it's rather difficult
Learn to play four-note patterns using three fingers. Requires a lot of two hand coordination, and is rhythmically complex, but then you may be able to do what Gary does. Flamenco players use that too.
Two contrasting approaches (attacks): I still hold Chris Squire to be the most sublime; I am a James Willis fan, to be sure, and there are things either can do in a way the other cannot, but Squire has the greater World-Historical significance of any Bassist of the last two centuries-
Ich liebe Garys sound... 🤩
Discovered this guy recently and simply cannot get enough of him and his style. What a virtuoso.
My all time favorite bassist!
Sick. The best in the world hands down.

My favourite bass player of the last 25 years. Very organic layered sound. Cheers for the video.
And my favorite band of the past 25 years is....Tribal Tech! A genius fkn outfit unlike any other on this planet.
he can play absolutely anything,as fast as anyone, but he's so musically mature he reins it in.BRILL.

and anyone who plays what they like is playing what they should, and the word play is not for use by lawyers and fanatics
MrWomax lastly that’s exactly what they said about the inventors of bebop u idiot
Gary Willis is phenomenal so smooth and effortless what a joy to hear and watch play
Superbe Son, super feeling. Un bassiste incroyable !
Willis. Killin' it. As usual.

Sempre grande e riconoscibile
The mother of all funk
Fretless with fret markings?Gary is the best out there!
gold...from the first note
Smooth and Buttery Thy Name is Willis GROOVE and Great Tone and technique. Cool indeed.
Gary's phrasing, as always, is impeccable. He can swing like a mofo.
sin duda el maestro del fretless ..
Trying to wrap my mind around Gary's right hand technique. Amazing! If anyone has any insights to share it would be much appreciated!

Ladies and Gentlemen he is a Bass Wizard

Speaking of fretless bass, it was Jaco, but that recognition was overturned.
uno de los bajistas que ama el Fretless
wau!!!!
Epic
I'm mostly listening to the music. But, when I am watching, it seems Willis doesn't really use the "Willis Ramp".

Mr. Groove
19.40 he goes off to somewhere no one is familiar with.....
So many confused metal heads in the crowd 😂
sorry but that has got to be among the worst fretless tones i have ever heard and intonation is not really great either (9:30).
a boring performance it would've been way more interesting with a looper but instead he relies on prerecorded instruments
