Some days the fish just don't cooperate, lol!
I've come to terms with the fact that losing gear is just part of the game unfortunately 😔

I never seen a jerkbait fished so fast like that; I usually used longer pause like 5 seconds. Maybe that's why I don't catch many fish. If you don't mind me asking, would that quick pause like you did works for walleyes? Also, what size and color of Vision 1 lures that you used? You mention about $25 per lure, worth it since all I been using were Rapa Husky Jerk ($6) lol?

Usually the colder the water, the longer the pause! The water temperature in this video was high 50s, which usually has the bass pretty active! Once it gets later into fall/early winter, I'll start doing 4-5 second pauses.
The more expensive jerkbaits typically suspend better, which is very important in the winter as you're going to be letting the bait sit much longer as the fish are more lethargic. Cheaper jerkbaits will typically either sink or float, which "may" effect whether or not the fish decide to eat it.
This is the regular Vision 110 in GG Threadfin Shad color. I've used Rapala X-Rap jerkbaits which tend to float slowly when you let them sit, which is good when fishing over grass as it won't get hung up as much! It all depends on the area you're fishing and the depth the fish are in.

Why are you so scared of those trebles. You have caused yourself more issues trying not to touch the fish.

Bigger bass aren't an issue. The pickerel and small bass are infamous for shaking hooks into hands. Trust me, I'm well aware my landing technique with these baits needs some work 😅

@@FishinMitch I’ve found it easier to get the trebles out holding the fish verse laying it down. Hopefully your jacket survived.

@@Matthoodadventures Jacket is fine! Lol that one was just a landing blunder. Forgot I took my jacket off and laid it on the floor.
