ysa Wenger started to do it end of last season, it's actually pretty smart Ozil gets more rest so he doesn't burn out. He isn't even going to join Germany squad because of the rough upcoming winter break.
He isn't the best physically so he needs more rest in order to be able to play at 100%. It helps to prevent injuries and things like that
