Significantly delayed, with no time Toulouse.

The required runway length (plus length for emergency braking) depends on the plane type, total plane weight, wind conditions etc. They probably had calculated that the runway length from N4 was within the required length of this flight.

This won't be the case. Easyjet don't have performance figures available in the software for N4

Alright, case closed. Please also inform the investigators.

Why didn't ATC spot in before it happened and correct the mistake made by the pilot ?

Hence why the BEA is investigating.

The BEA should focus on stopping French ATC striking....

Not down to the BEA, that's down to Eurocontrol and the French Government.

Plenty of airports only have 5000’ full length to play with. This is no big deal.

I'm surprised they didnt notice, they probably did but hoped they would be airborne before the end

I noticed something similar on my last EasyJet flight from Basel to Berlin where the plane did not enter the runway from the end while every other plane (which were also narrow-bodies) were entering through the end of the runway for takeoff. I have no idea if it was allowed or not.

Intersection departures are allowed, legal and safe.

Very interesting video, but very hard to hear with this very annoying music playing in the background. Can you turn it down or, better, off. Thanks! 🙂

Can taking off from minimum distance saves fuel ?

    • @andreaskole958

I mean airlines use de-rated engines to avoid unnecessary wear and tear so it is in their advantage to not do short takeoffs

It’s not pilot fault: the airport control tower has to correct the mistake: cause pilot always seeks permission to takeoff.

It was saving fuel by starting further down the runway!

This is not Airbus Aircraft fault. It is clear pilot error

12 years old is old? Maybe because the aircraft is older than you, lol. Get off you're parents' ipad kid!
