Okay is it just me or is this a freaking time loop!? Abyssal almost sounds like a continuation of Sinking as if you are revived from the depths of blue hell to fight once more and relive the hellish battle and witness all before you fall again and again.
The KanColle Original Soundtrack is good. THESE, however, exceed "good." I like these renditions. They gave me a very realistic sense of danger, dread, war, and joy. Orchestral compositions are always very good, and when it's used for a some-what-warship-simulator game like Kantai, it's just great. These compositions, for myself, brought a real-world feel to my KanColle girls, because they all are real-world warships, but the game, for it's nature, often makes me forget that. These compositions have reminded me again, that KanColle has a real-world basis. Warships really are something.

Impressions without context: This piece reminds me of Akagi's sinking. She is fighting, and is reminded of her past history as a ship in the middle, when the music slows down and you can hear the planes and guns firing. But then her eyes snap open and she is filled with renewed resolve to prevent what happened from happening again. Akagi will not die here! This time, the 1st Carrier Div will prevail!

it also gave a sense of sorrow with the song "decisive battle"... that cry in the background of that song...
Much of the album, while intended to invoke Abyssal tragedy, also invokes the grace and glory of the Emperor and/or Omnissiah.
...and I like it.
