  • (Visit: www.uctv.tv/) At the heart of the latest work from acclaimed philosopher and novelist Rebecca Newberger Goldstein lies one question: is philosophy obsolete? In “Plato At The Googleplex,” Goldstein proves why philosophy is here to stay by revealing its hidden role in today's debates on religion, morality, politics and science in this interview with Roger Bingham, Founder of The Science Network. Goldstein is presented by the Helen Edison Lecture Series at UC San Diego. Series: "Helen Edison Lecture Series" [2/2015] [Public Affairs] [Show ID: 28676]

Wow. These people can make Plato feel dull. I got 8 minutes in.

Was it Schultz' "Peanuts" Lucy who first said, "those who can't do, teach," upon whom we may append, 'those who don't know, philosophize...' The one peculiarity we know about the ancient Greeks prior to Plato was perhaps summarized best by his redaction of Solon's lost poem (of which we know little else) attributing to ancient elderly Egyptian priest Sonchis the declaration that Greeks (specifically Hellenes) were ever as children, and then gives the cause and reason.

I enjoyed this conversation. Based on the negative comments from chemtrail conspirators and "einstein got it all wrong but I got it right" video purveyors , you're casting pearls to swine. Keep up the good work.
