    Great addition to your fleet. Bet you heard that voice saying go on you know you want to buy it. I know i'm going to cave in to temptation at some point. Good job with the lighting. Thanks for showing. Regards Paul.

      Thanks for commenting Paul. I think it's inevitably when going to model railway exhibitions that your going to be tempted to buy something😁

    Good work mate I love the way you do your videos always interesting and inspiring as well as funny at times too
    I especially enjoyed the collision at the beginning because it usually happens when we start to film ( here we go then o the points 😮😂😂) or when we are distracted for a minute and then the loco has uncoupled from the coaches and bang ‼️ too late 😂😂😂😂keep up the great work

    BTW, always open all railway item boxes with the aid of a blunt knife/letter opener slid under the flap to gently release the tab, rather than forcing it open with your finger causing a rip!

    Hi Roy.
    Great looking EMU. Well done with the lighting Roy. The lights are ok. Not to bright.
    Just got a two car EMU 414. Runs lovely. Did a vlog on the un boxing. Got to try and get the body off to put the little people in.
    You got that at a good price, mine was £121 for a two car.
    Thanks Roy.
    Stay safe.
    Pete.

      They are very fiddly to remove the body if the 2 car set is the same. As I found removing the headcode first helps. I use the credit cards slip between the body and chassis where the four clips are, the end clips are the hardest to release.

    Hi Roy. Some modellers bow down at the altar of prototypical, others ignore it entirely. I float somewhere in between. I just wonder how bright the carriage lighting was on the original units and whether this is an issue for you. Actually, with the garage lights on, they seem quite good.

    • @roystrains
      @roystrains  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maybe they would not have had lights on at all in daylight hours in real life? But I think it would have been the same brightness in all coaches.
      I like to be able to see the lighting in daylight so no not prototypical but as they say, it's my model, I'll run it my way😊
      Thanks you for your comment.

      To be honest the only reason I stick to prototypical is so that I don’t spend all my money!

    Got one for £130.00 last week, again it looked like it's never been run. Funnily enough the box is torn exactly where yours is, must be an issue in getting the box open.
    Lovely model, well worth what we've paid for them.

    Interesting video Roy.
    Graham Foulston @ Lakeside recently purchased this model & upgraded his lighting too.
    Just subbed.

      Thanks for the sub, just returned a sub to yourself. I did see Grahams, I believe he bypassed the function key setup so they are constantly illuminated.

    Hi Roy,
    A very nice 411 to the fleet and for £150 a super bargain yes the lights are not the best but well done for upgrading them as Lakeside did she looks super running around as for the decoder I thought it was only the sound ones that had 25 or so functions the non sound about 4 to 6 as far as I know but yes working as it should well done.
    Cheers Robert.

      Hi Robert thanks for your input, the 21 pin Lokpilot 5 manual (which Bachman says thiers is equivelent to) states there are 22 available functions although I can only see 10 auxillary functions, it's hardwork trying to understand the manual. But those functions are basically useless as there are no wires to connect too as the decoder connects directly to a printed circuit board.
      Most of the decoders I have fitted myself are Lenz 8 pin which give you 4 functions easily accessed via wires. I actually wish I had fitted one of these via an 8 to 21 pin converter. The Lenz manual is much simpler to understand and give a list of CVs for adjusting lighting effects, if you want to add an extra function you can just cut into the existing wire.

      @robertstrainset6556 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@roystrains so a lot more functions than you need adding to the cost I would think.

    I have the same problem with poor lighting in a couple of bachmann 108, it does seem to be something they miss across a range of dmu types, and it`s not like LEDs are expensive

    • @roystrains
      @roystrains  ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly, it must be evident on their pre production that the lights are too dim. Thank you for your input.

    Cool layout.
    Can you dim the garage lighting?
    Was the back carriage supposed to be empty and dark?
    Good work with the modifications.
    Happy Modelling

    • @roystrains
      @roystrains  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank You for your comments. Garage lighting is not dimmable, Don't know if led tube lights can be dimmed.
      Don't think end carriage is meant to be empty, just a poor lighting design.😢
