Runs and sounds just like my 1952 model A, and doesn’t miss a note. I’ve never driven one with a single front wheel. Do they handle or feel any differently than a standard tricycle front end? Also, I think those two sided plows are cool!
The single tire seems to make it harder to steer, especially if you're not moving. You really have to crank on the steering wheel to get the thing to turn. I think there is more resistance with the single tire scrubbing the ground than with the two tires. And visibility is not as good. Unless you have your head way out to the side, you can't even see your tire.
@@jonelsonster Wow. Yeah I can see where it would be harder to steer. If I ever get the opportunity to drive a single front wheel John Deere, I’ll give it a try. That’s a beautiful old tractor. I’d like to restore my 1952 A. It was my dad’s tractor. But with the price of parts and the combination of a few other things, I’m not sure I’ll get it done.
Yeah, this field was worked over with a disc in the fall so it makes spring plowing like this nice and easy. We do it as a club activity, not necessarily because it needs it.

Looks like a fun day!
That soil seems fairly sandy, not sure it really needs plowed but it's nice to see that old machine working.

Love the sound of that tracter working
The iconic sound of a John Deere A, it can't be beat
That’s one solid running A. Love it
Thanks! It is a good ol tractor
I'll start checking the timing (Flywheel, Top Dead Center #1), and Magneto. I have to get this tractor running before Pioneer Day parade.
Here is a really good video that explains everything much better than I can.

I have a 1951 Model B. It runs then it backfires. What might be wrong with it? What things do I need to check and do to make it run smooth?
Backfiring makes me think either timing... So you could start by checking that. Then move to carburator. It's hard to tell without hearing it run.
We plowed in 3rd but the tractor had 15.5 x 38 pulling 2 16s. This tractor doesn't seem to be working hard at all.
This ground is rather sandy so it pulls the plow well.
Plowed a lot when I was a kid, never in ground that dry. Rarely does it ever get that dry in Ohio.
This is also very sandy soil.
Lindo video , pero... El arado mal regulado ,resultado , una tierra despareja , muy fea .
Everyone's a critic
Looks like a great day👍👍👍👍👍👍
Any day on an old tractor is a great day
Wonder IF it that is still capable of all-fuel? We HAD AN ALL-FUEL B THAT WE CULTIVATED WITH BURNING 13 CENTS A GALLON DIESEL IN THE 1950S.
Good question. I've never tried to run an all fuel on anything but gas.
