- Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well, if not, I hope you feel better soon. This video was filmed in early October of 2021. It features 3 distinct sounds: field crickets (chirping), tree crickets (whirring) as well as katydids (sound like they are saying ka-tee-did). These sounds bring calm, peace, nostalgia, and help many to sleep and relax, I hope they can do the same for you!
As always, let's keep the comments kind and supportive. The more love there is in the world, the less room there is for hate and darkness.

For the last two weeks of my mom's life, I was caregiver to her and had to work "night shift" at her house (10pm - 9am). My home office got moved to her living room so I could continue to work my job while still seeing to her needs. The living room window was always open and the sounds of crickets and katydids filled the room as I worked. She passed away in early October of 2021. How ironic that this video was recorded during that same time period! Hearing this makes me think of her, and it brings back the happy memories of growing up in that house, sitting on the porch on a warm summer evening, lying in bed late at night with the window open listening to the nighttime sounds. Thank you for this!

I am tired and old, This reminds me summer nights as a child living in the hills. There was no air conditioning. Contrary to belief it is not much cooler there in the summer. I hate silence at night. I find silencE deafening. This recording reminds me that there is still life. Thank you for postingit.

This is the best cricket/katydid soundscape on TH-cam so far, hands down. It seems a lot of people making videos don't get that the cricket speed and frequency lowers as the temperature drops, which results in a much more lulling experience to go to sleep to! This is the only video that throws me (gently) back into my childhood, walking up a low mountain path, damp brown leaves gathering at the sides, big oaks arching overhead, while I scour the periphery for toads on my way to the big group bonfire at the last camping trip of the year-age 11.

I found crickets sounds to help me sleep when tinnitus acts up at night. I've tried several recordings on youtube for the real sounds; the ones I remember during open-window nights or while camping in the NC mountains. Last night I found this and immediately knew there was something different in your recordings. This IS the sound of nature!!
I slept rock solid last night, tinnitus and all. Something I rarely do.

I grew up in central Texas, and moved at the age of 15; I miss the sound of Crickets, Cicadas, and Mourning Birds I'd hear so often growing up. I want to buy a ranch and spend my final years there...

This reminds me of camping. Laying in the camper/tent at night, staring at the top of the camper/ tent, and just listening to the sounds around you. Very soothing.

I just discovered rain/wind/thunder 10 hour plays months ago...even more recently this "nightcritters" 10 hour recording...I just had a deep, peaceful sleep as a result!...BLESS ALL those creating these!!!...I HOPE they know the GOOD and COMFORT they are putting into the world and it comes BACK to them!!!...(Especially during these (unnecessarily!) fractious times!)...So much stress and anxiety in the world! Hello Dana and thank you for stopping by. Just a short word about this. My channel had been monetized before, and at that point I only placed ads at the very beginning of videos. Never want to disturb anybody after they started relaxing. TH-cam revoked monetization claiming my content is reused (someone else's) which is false. However, despite this, TH-cam sometimes places add on videos arbitrarily, which I have no control of. All of that said, you probably stand the least chance of an ad on this channel versus anywhere else.

Nice to begin with, but too repetitive.
Maybe you should teach the insects some different sounds to make. Perhaps you go out in the woods, makes funny screeching sounds and see if they will repeat.
That's what's in our food now.
