- Nearly 1,000 commercial burglaries and thefts occurred during violence and looting in Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs last week. One-third of the pharmacies in the city were among the burglarized businesses. Some $90 million worth of prescription drugs could have been stolen. NBC10 investigative reporter Claudia Vargas spoke with police investigators and victimized business owners to see how progress is going on recovering stolen goods.

Piles of strategically placed bricks for throwing. ready to move on the given word, nation wide.First thing they did after breaking in to a store, would be cracking the safes and ATM machines.
Seeing variety videos, they ran in and grabbed all they can carry. took bags and trash cans to carry more. all while cops was busy with protestors they hit any place anytime till city was able get other help from around area to go after anyone try take anything. i even saw some pulled car up to front to fill and go back for more as if free for all and filled car and left.

Philadelphia is one place that I will never never visit.
The detectives will be at every local and nearby pawnshop. Pawnshop owners most likely won't buy the cheaper stuff knowing full well how the law works. And a pawnshop owner will call the police if they suspect something was stolen. If the detectives need the item back because it was stolen, then the pawn shop loses the item to the detectives and gets nothing back. So they just won't buy the items(in most cases) from the looters unless it's something they really need and can hide at home and not resell. Of course, there will always be a few dishonest pawnshop owners.
This is why South Philadelphis doesnt want nothing to do with the rest of Philadelphia.
Once again the police commissioner has no answers...guess they have to write it down for her.

What's needed is a mandatory minimum jail sentence for resisting arrest.
Nice idea but, resisting arrest can include going limp or flinching while in a nonlethal pain restraint. Have you ever seen a parent grab a kid by the back of the neck with two fingers and he tries to slump out of it? That is not a police procedure, but you get the idea. The kid is trying to flee his parents grip, thats just natural pain avoidance. Plus when have criminals obeyed a law when they have charges pending.
