- Hello my friends, this video I on the finished casting for the Tally Ho. After 4 castings we have a good one. This was a team effort and I want to thank the following for all their hard work and dedication to make this happen.

Leo and crew need a bottle of Balderdash for the next Duchess of Desire commercial, and to keep in that beautiful liquor cabinet on the boat. Great job by all on the capstan. American perseverance and ingenuity at its best.
I guess they do not cast in Germany or South Africa???

BTW: These guys look like a bunch of old English buddies.
I like this group of guys who just wanted to help. This is the epitome of a neighborhood community that helps each other and that's why I love living in small communities.
I hope you put a witness mark in the casting or Keith will engrave the date of casting and location so in the next hundred years there is a record Thank you for such attention to the detail and keeping American foundry work going.
Congratulations on getting this done Clark. Your persistence paid off. I reckon Keith will be really nervous machining this one 🙂
I don't think so because they're going to use one of the failed attempts as a trial prototype to do the initial machining on.
Leo is going to be giving cruises to a whole lot of people for a very long time to pay back all this effort.

Remember the welder( sorry, name? ) who did these incredible fuel tanks
and introduced himself, mimicking Leo, as a boat builder and NOT a sailor
They were comments that maybe Leo could fix that.

You fine people produced an item that will be in use way longer than any of you will be around...That must be satisfying and make you proud in it self...Hundreds will trample and sweat and sing around that capstan during coming years.
Thanks for reminding us old folks of our mortality. At my age, I avoid getting a 'lifetime supply' of most anything. I get a bit nervous when it looks like I'm about to run out.
Clark, Congratulations on your success. Despite all the hurdles and setbacks you encountered, You did it and it looks great. You’ll have the satisfaction of seeing it installed and operating on the Tally Ho. Good Job and hats off to you and your crew!

Amazing old fashion craftsmanship for an old world project. Tally Ho is even more authentic due to your nearly lost art of casting.
The more vents the better for me. 10 when pouring Sterling silver chopsticks. It/they make for a lot mor clean-up but finishing great. Lots for the files and rarely ever a fail due to trapped air being a problem. Awesome to see the win Clark. Thanks from all of us. What a great bunch of fellas there helping as they can.
Nice work. It's clear this was a difficult project and it's great to see you have a lot of good friends to help out.

There is a famous quote from John Steinbeck's "Cannery Row"; "Why don't you just give up." It is very informative to watch you keep going after each problem pour. I don't call them a failed pour because they weren't failures, they were part of the process it took to gain the knowledge to accomplish to final results. This is a good lesson in perseverance. Thanks

Nothing succeeds like having friends! This capstan top has been a son-of-a-gun since Keith tried taking it apart. Great work in getting a fully formed, useful casting!
