This is his solo mini album and he wrote and produced each song. Definitely give the album a listen! When he was young, JH actually started out by singing in church, but then he heard rap and gravitated to it. As I told my friend, this is Joohoney on a plate. This is him being honest about who he is, not being confined, and expressing everything and anything he wants to do through music. It's also a message of being a shining light. If you listened to his song Smoky (I recommend it if not), he is singing from a place of darkness. It was a time when JH's health wasn't good - physically and mentally - and he took a hiatus to get himself well. While he was on break, he wrote Smoky. Freedom is about after, about looking toward the light through that haze and focusing on the positive, about yourself and about the world around you. Freedom to be who you are. 🧡💛🧡💛
Jooheon is still part of Monsta X, they all going for solos or units because of military enlistments, its Jooheon 1st solo debut after 8 years in Monsta X. And he is going hard with showing that he is all rounder, each section showing his skills. He's known to be main rapper, but he went as vocalist, as rapper and as dancer. Also he produced and wrote all of his songs in the album.

He's still a member of MONSTA X but this is his solo mini album debut. He's done mix tapes before but not an album. Both Joohoney and IM are excellent vocalists in addition to their rap skills. Out of all the mini albums I listened to so far this year, his is by far my favorite. He's still Jooheon but changed his stage name to Joohoney a while ago because he thought people considered him "too scary" based on looks alone. Thank you for reacting to this. It made my weekend.

Jooheon is truly unique as an artist and I think he has had a big part in creating the musical identity of Monsta X, but I believe he sometimes feels restricted by the role he has to play in the group and I'm very happy for him having the opportunity to express himself freely in this one.
