I agree! This performance is also often overshadowed by his Gakku performance but this version is better in my opinion. I love his softness and his runs in the beginning as well as his emotion. And the fact that he changed some of the lyrics to please the crowd. He’s so special.

I really advice you secondly to watch the teaser before (on his channel) to be on point with the real subject. Lots of symbolisms and difficult to catch all sens at first. After the teaser, I think you are better prepared.

I agree with you about the stage setting, but in this case, he didn't have much to do with it. This video is from his participation in the "Singer" show in China which was a weekly singing competition show where he was the youngest ever contestent and also from Kazakhstan, not China. He ended up coming in 2nd to a very popular Chinese singer. He has more to do with the stage settings, band and backup singers and dancers in other of his TH-cam videos - especially from his Digital concert held in January 2021.
