I agree so much with the part about his confidence in this vid as there are already so many moments this season where he has taken over games in the clutch and has looked really seamless in doing so.
Garland is doing two things that point guards often struggle with. Firstly, he's found the right balance between creating for his team and hunting his own shot. Its not enough to be "pass first" or "score first"; the best point guards are capable of both, depending on what their team needs. Garland has no issues fashioning chances for his guys, and no qualms calling his own number. Second, he's embraced playing off the ball in Atkinson's system. Point guards are often micro managers who struggle with not being in control. Garland and Mitchell have both realized that trusting their teammates to initiate reduces their workload, keeps defenses guessing, and gets them easier shots against scrambling opponents. On top of that, Garland is playing the best defense of his career. No, he's not some kind of defensive ace, but teams that have tried to target him are getting a lot less than they wanted, and Mobley or Allen are usually waiting to help him out. I don't think the Cavs have enough to beat a full strength Celtics in the playoffs; they still don't have the ideal guy at the 3. But I don't see anyone else in the East beating them.
It pisses me off that your videos don't get the views of some of these other Basketball channels. You give insight and analysis to a level. that in my opinion, is really only surpassed by Thinking Basketball. I like different channels for different reasons and most are just a entertainment value or catch up on what I missed. But when AlexHoops drops a video I know I am going to get a solid opinion backed up by great data points and insight that most others don't bring to the table. Thanks for all the work you put into these videos man.
Looking back, it does not feel like he got enough credit for playing through all the adversity he faced last season. Great to see him put that behind him and hoop like this.
As a neutral, its good to see Garland doing well again. He's a small guard who depends on his tight handle playmaking and shooting to excel. A lot of young, undersized guards probably try to emulate him.
That would be nice, but I'm still skeptical that he can make enough of an offensive difference to be the defensive liability he is, especially if they have both mobley and Allen on the floor together.
Evan mobleys lack of development as a player at all since I rookie year has been hidden exceptionally well with the phenomenal roster construction they don’t even need him to be a star the guy can chill as a role player

In the games I've seen, it's been Donovan Mitchell closing games.

I sincerely appreciate this comment, thank you so much!
so happy he found his confidence back
Great video! Love when creators give the Cavs their due

I didn’t hear about his jaw or I forgot about it. I was at playoff games in Orlando against the Cavs and he was struggling… makes sense now.
Really enjoyed it! Looking forward to more videos! 😚🍒
Its been 1 minute you haven't watched anything bot💀💀
Its great to see people give Garland his flowers after his PR last year
I think it also helps that Mobley has improved his outside shot, now defenders can't help off him when he's out on the perimeter.
As usual, great vid

You hope your right and that’s okay because you aren’t a Cavs fan but he excel in big games most times
one of the best clutch players this year
