I am blessed to have no negative issues at all on metformin ER 2000 MG a day for two years now. A1c is 5.7. Lots of awesome benefits and I feel great while taking it.
35 years on metformin for me, 2000mgs daily and I'll be 80 in August of 2023. Maybe the longevity side effect is the only one I will have......I can live with that....
Been on Metformin Extended Release for 3 years. Great medication for me. It's been around longer than any new diabetic drugs that are being tried today.
I love metformin. The vomiting never went away, but the benefits outweight that for me.

I vomited after eating sushi on this medication
I have just started taking Metformin 1000mg twice a day. I felt unwell about an hour after taking the tablet with a meal. I thought I would vomit but didn't. I ended up taking an antacid & all was good. My beginning dose seems high. I have been controlling my diabetes T2 for over ten years with diet & working. Now I have PTSD & anxiety I have put on weight because of comfort eating & fear of going outside.

@@robertstancliffsr9575 thank you . I have lowered the dose to half tablet in the morning and full one at night. I still haven't told my doctor, but I will. It has dropped my readings & it's good to read from your reply that it's okay long term. ♥️😊🇦🇺 PS I am an August baby too.
@@robertstancliffsr9575can you guys guide me here ? before i use this tablet my periods cycle was normal but after having this tablet around one month my periods is irregular like june periods came & july no periods & i am not a PCOD patient doctor just give me this tablet for weight lose now what should i do ? This drug is simply killing me with diarrhea (really painful ones) and constant nausea. It makes me get up and vomit in the middle of the night, and it has been like this for three weeks (since I begin use this medicine). I am taking it right after my meals (I only have breakfast and afternoon meal) and no nothing helps. I am going to see the doctor again, I will write about the results.

@@winning3329 My doctor made me quit the drug as he found the side affects excessive. They are suspicious of Helicobacter pylori, so it will be investigated.

Take 500 mg instead of 1000 mg . I had diarrhoea with heavy dose. So reduced the dose. You may have H pylori or Hiatal Hernia. Constant nausea happens due to that
I had had similar effects when I began taking it ~20 y.a. My doctor at the time had me reduce the doze in half and eventually increase it, as my metabolism adapted.
Keto constipated me,so metformin was good. It increases longevity.

it means metformin have an angiogenesis effect..

My ob-gyne prescribed me this medicine for my pcos. Together with provera.. all i can say is... it doesn't feel good taking them both one at a time. Stomach aches, nausea, and fatigue..
I take metformin just before a meal when i know i will overeat..... actually i take 0.2 voglibose metformin to avoid weight gain from the food.... please tell if i am doing something seriously wrong

I have been on Metformin maybe 7 months now? I was 298 pounds back in January of 2024 and my A1C was a bit higher back then, but this drug has helped me bring it down and help me shed weight, ive also been walking more which im sure has helped as well. Im currently at 251 pounds. Ive never vomited from it, but i will say it does make you have some taco bell dookys lol.

I am obese, and take metformin 850gm twice a day. First I was having gastric problems, now I don't have acidity problems. But my weight is not reducing. But I am not doing any kind of exercise.

Yes I would take vomiting over losing a leg or kidney
Brutal medication, spend hours being sick. Pains in joints etc.
I ended up exercising, walking, walking then walked home. No longer on meds all okay. Feeling good now, also think before eating.
I had a lot of GI issues at first. Reduced dosage and then slowly built up to the full dose again. I think I could do it without because I have before but if it can help me get healthy quicker I'll deal with side effects.
So its relicensed phenformin got it
For this side effects we may avoid metformin and. Take aurvedic medicene
No side effects for me after 35 years of 2X1000 mgs daily......except maybe longevity. I will be 80 in August.....yes, I have kidney function test and i take a B-12 supplement and both my kidneys and B-12 level are fine. When a side effect is listed for any drug, it does not mean you are going to have that side effect........

No side effects for me after 35 years of taking metformin except I am healthy and will be 80 years old soon. I can handle those side effects.......😊.
