This was Unit #836 in the chain -- and they actually did update that facade at some point in the late '90s-early 2000's (hence the unique exterior look) & did various interior remodels over the years. The drive-thru was added in the late '80s. The reason it closed has probably already been discussed here, but this was a corporate-owned store that leased the property. Supposedly, an entire rebuild was planned to coincide with the major road widening project currently underway (just like with the Eat n' Park right up the road), but the company couldn't come to terms with the estate of the property owner/landowner, so the decision was made to close it down. I heard a similar situation happened with the Arby's on Banksville Road (which was #12). The Bridgeville Arby's business had declined drastically over the years & this place had to be on their list of underperforming units, so the lease dispute probably gave the company a good excuse to close it up
not exactly -- the family of the property owner couldn't/wouldn't come to terms with the corporation over a planned total rebuild, so they opted to close it down -- Actually the company was probably glad to save the money as this location has been declining for decades
This was a corporate owned store that leased the property. The road it’s on is under construction to be widened and like the Eat N Park nearby, the plan was to build a new Arby’s in the same property but further back a little but the landlord passed away and the relatives who run the estate wouldn’t agree to a new lease and that is why this location closed. I hope they build another one around here but probably not.
this was one of the most awkward drive-thru add-ons ever -- they debated & studied the best way to install a drive thru on the property for quite some time
5:10 Wallie, to answer your question about the 'lowercase' Arby's signage. It was a 'failed' logo rebrand in 2012, as they tried to make the logo '3d'. By 2013, they reverted to the uppercase 'A' & the 2d style logo.
Happy new year Wallie, this is an abandoned Arby's for sure. Thanks for sharing this. We will be having snow 🌨️ tomorrow on Sunday. Its a 95 percent. You take care my friend.
The lower case logo was just an older logo. The apostrophe is a slicer. The mascot at that era was a talking oven mitt, voiced by Tom Arnold. Early 2010's.
Beautiful abandoned video, Wallie! It’s rare that the drive-thru isn’t a full circle. Somebody was driving the drive-thru when it’s closed, hahahahaha!!!!!
About the lower case Arby’s logo, that was briefly their logo for 14 Months (October 2012 to December 2013) before they changed it to their current logo.
Wow this is an old one! I love the aesthetics on this one! Down the street is the Peters Place, I remember that video from 2019 dang hard to believe that was 5 years ago. Gould you do an update of that place?
Banksville road Arby's used to have a huge cowboy hat neon sign with huge pink/red colored neon words flashing "roast" then "beef" then flashed on and off together roast beef 3 times. 1970s
Ibjust had Arby's tonight for dinner. I got a Rubin and curly fries 🍟 It was delicious but a little cheap with the meat.😋 Another great video👍 Happy New Year🎆
Used to work there in 2000, still miss Desiree and Sara.. cute girls. Think Paul was the GM for decades. Worked that drive-thru window for many a busy days. Believe it or not, that would damn near back up out onto the road. Was SLAMMED back in the day.
I vouch for that -- that place used to rock day & night -- amazing how dead it became over the past 5-10 years.....then when they added the drive-thru, it was a huge hit.
I'm shocked!! But not... their prices went up so I'm not surprised it did. Yeah bob Evans closed, the American freight behind it is closing too. And P.C. and big lots like you said. This Arbys.... I used to go here. But it was always dirty and it seemed they didn't care to keep it cleaned. Good to see ya in my neck of the woods again Wallie. Miss not seeing ya at sheetz.
This Arby's has been dead or dying for at least a decade -- Company was probably glad that they couldn't come to terms with the property owner's estate. And hell yes that Bob Evans used to ROCK back in the 2000s, but that era is over sadly
Great video AS ALWAYS dude!! By the way, the Buffalo Bill game video was great!! I’ve been to several Steeler games but the Buffalo games seem to have a much better atmosphere. Am I right about that or not?? And oh by the way, I just went to Long John Silvers here in Latrobe earlier today!!!
The Rax was located bascially where the parking lot for Chuck E Cheese & Plato's Closet is now. There is a belief that it was further over where Sonic is now, but it wasn't there
Never knew they shut down. I used to go there for lunch once in awhile when I worked at Enterprise like in 2020. The Arby's on Banksville Rd is abandoned too. Wonder if Library Rd is still opened.
I did that Arbys on Banksville. Also, I wonder if I may have seen you at Enterprise. I work for an auto body shop that gets cars from the Bridgeville Enterprise and even though I work in the shop, there was a summer I had to drive to pick up/drop off Enterprise cars including the Bridgeville branch.
The Arby's out in Bethel/South Park is still opened -- But the BK right down Library Road has been closed for a long time. This Arby's was supposedly going to be completely rebuilt like the Eat n' Park across the road, but plans fell through
Yes Bridgeville has had moments when it was the capital of abandoned places -- about 5-10 years ago, it was the South Fayette end, now it's the Collier end
Hey Wallie! Been to Mobile, Alabama yet? If not, go check out these places when you explore there: 1. O’Charley’s 2. KFC (This was the one with the buffet.) 3. Pizza Hut (This one had a buffet too.) 4. JCPenney Please check these four places out, and please make videos of them. I will be checking your channel more frequently. Thank you!!!!
Back in the late '80s, they studied & debated how to add drive-thrus to all the older Arby's locations -- they talked about adding it on the opposite side, possibly behind it...But this the final decision. Bevliev it or not, as awkward as it was, it proved very popular for decades
I have been hearing all big lots supposed to closed for good and sadly lot of Frisch's Big Boy been closing left and right lately, and sadly we might see all Frisch's Big Boy closed because the way their doing
@@maryd9331 Unfortunately, even after the new plan, the Bridgeville Big Lots was still deemed as "underperforming" & is in fact closing. They've got the banners out front.
Odd that they are bothering to strip it down so meticulously. So much so that the signs of at least the last remodel were also stripped. If the intent was to simply close up…why go through all the trouble ? Obviously the signage has to come down and other items of Arby’s branding and you’re going to pull equipment you can salvage to sell. But to pull other stuff right away is odd, maybe there’s an intent to tear down and rebuild.
Originally & allegedly, they were going to do another remodel (as they had been doing like every 10-12 years or so), but then decided on a complete rebuild in the wake of the road widening & Eat n Park rebuild just across the road -- then all plans fell through over the property lease. But the fact that they immediately removed all signage (like within days) & began dumpstering it out overnight tells me that it's done

Nice! Thanks for the shout out! I heard the owner passed away and his family did not want to keep it open.
That would explain the sudden closure.
not exactly -- the family of the property owner couldn't/wouldn't come to terms with the corporation over a planned total rebuild, so they opted to close it down -- Actually the company was probably glad to save the money as this location has been declining for decades
The Arby's logo is canonically a cowboy hat. The oven mitt was just their mascot for a while.
Arby's stands for the "rb" in roast beef.
YES -- didn't see your explanation until after I added mine....what he said!!!
Another great video! I have never seen a style Arby's like this before! Nice!
They did a facade update in the late '90s
It explains why I have been sitting at the drive thru for days.
LOL!!!
when open it seemed forever waiting in the drive thru
this was one of the most awkward drive-thru add-ons ever -- they debated & studied the best way to install a drive thru on the property for quite some time
Thank you! You always look great Wallie💜 I actually like seeing your hair down on the rare occasion you do it.
Well thank you!
@WallieB26 You are so welcome!

Yelpers: Report Arby's in this location has closed. Find the Similar Spot.
One of the worst logo redesigns ever! The 3D logo was horrible!
I remember them trying to rebrand or change the logo numerous times over the decades
Happy new year Wallie, this is an abandoned Arby's for sure. Thanks for sharing this. We will be having snow 🌨️ tomorrow on Sunday. Its a 95 percent. You take care my friend.
Lol! Happy new year wallie! Thank you for all the wonderful videos! They help me through the hard times
Cool video bro! Stay safe and warm out there! 👍👍❤️✊🤘
The lower case logo was just an older logo. The apostrophe is a slicer. The mascot at that era was a talking oven mitt, voiced by Tom Arnold. Early 2010's.
Wasn't the oven mitt long gone by then?
I'm a big Arby's restaurant fan so I love going out at all.
I never saw a abandoned Arby’s that’s rare good video❤
there's another abandoned one on Banksville Road around 6 miless away
Oh the snow is beautiful
We have a decent blanket of snow currently! More snow on the way!
Thanks for sharing this wonderful video I enjoyed watching.
Beautiful abandoned video, Wallie! It’s rare that the drive-thru isn’t a full circle. Somebody was driving the drive-thru when it’s closed, hahahahaha!!!!!
that drive-thru was an add-on -- the company decided to install drive-thrus on all the older restaurants in the late '80s
They had two big signs at either end of the parking lot -- eventually they got rid of the sign at the SW end of the lot
Oh And have an Arby'slicious Day !
Cool video I love that sticker on your window
Awesome 👌 video man
About the lower case Arby’s logo, that was briefly their logo for 14 Months (October 2012 to December 2013) before they changed it to their current logo.

Hey wallie, it would be cool if you could explore an abandoned modern Wendy’s.
Banksville road Arby's used to have a huge cowboy hat neon sign with huge pink/red colored neon words flashing "roast" then "beef" then flashed on and off together roast beef 3 times. 1970s
Not sure if this location ever had one of those oirignal signs -- Banksville was #12 & Bridgeville was #836
Oh my I remember going there
Used to have some great food there
Arby's is my cat Sasha's favorite restaurant! 😺
Ibjust had Arby's tonight for dinner. I got a Rubin and curly fries 🍟 It was delicious but a little cheap with the meat.😋 Another great video👍 Happy New Year🎆

The American Freight down the road was also a former Children's Palace toy store.

Long John Silver's hush puppies are the best. Also, you have to have some White Castle's. Thanks for the video
This Awesome video wallie keep it up buddy :D
Wallie just found out big lots set to close in belle vernon pa not far from the old k mart
Count on ALL BigLots to close…..
It was always busy and the Bob Evan’s was doing well I thought. We are losing places to eat around here left and right.

The Arby's in Penn Hills has no coffee in the morning going down hill fast 😮
this location hadn't served breakfast for decades, but still had coffee as far as I know
Hi Wallie 👍✌️
There used to be Rax right around there somewhere when I was a kid but I don't remember exactly where.
I think that was down by where Chuck E Cheese is now.
@@DiannaW425Yeah it was right around there. Though back then the Chuck E Cheese was where the liquor store is now.

That section of town is taking quite a hit. I would stop at this Arby’s all the time on the way home from working on Steubenville Pike.
Yes Bridgeville has had moments when it was the capital of abandoned places -- about 5-10 years ago, it was the South Fayette end, now it's the Collier end

I grew up there
they remodeled the seats/inside about 8 years ago. i miss the old setup
they did numerous remodels both inside & outside every decade or so, most likley to avoid going through with a rebuild
I love LJS! Chicken planks, fries, hush puppies and tons of malt vinegar
Looks like the Erie Arby's had the logo that literally everyone hated so they changed it within a couple years back in like 2012
If they still "have the meats" it probably smells in there...
7:00 "it's not hard to be kind" plenty need to hear that nowadays.
it's 74 degrees here in space city/ H town
Id love to have 74°!
I wouldn't be surprised if the funky drive thru setup is what killed this location.

Be kind.... rewind. Sorry had to haha
whats with the pink post it notes on the equipment? :)
Wallie, what has really caught me off guard recently is Arby’s having burgers! Arby’s doesn’t need burgers! Feels wrong to me.
Arby's had burgers decades ago, then got rid of them -- apparently brought them back at some point
I know where THIS is for sure... haha
If i had a restaurant next door to me id be eating Arby's eveyday when its this cold out hel's yah..
I would be overjoyed to be right next door from an Arby's.
Hello I love videos
Every time I drive past any Arby’s, there’s very few cars.
