Thank you Mr. Magno! You have been putting in some very long hours. One video you were in was at 6 AM, another at 6PM and I think one from Thursday or Friday was about 8 PM! Get sone rest.
Hi Talmadge My Prayers go out to you & everybody there. May God keep you strong Talmadge you've been through a lot . You have a lot of patience your a Good Man Beautiful Smile 💕❤💕❤💕
Talmage--we know you care, it's written all over your face. Thanks to your family for sharing you with us, you are a true public servant, and a credit to the Big Island Civil Defense.
This gentleman is so calm....perhaps fatigue. What a heavy burden he has to bear with the events happening in Hawaii. Prayers for him and everyone affected by this storm.
It's a Blessing that Talmadge's demeanor is so reserved and calm. The last thing you want is to transmit nervousness to the public. In times of disaster you want a calm voice, and not someone uptight, as in the interviewer's voice...
For those that don’t appreciate your job and and how you received your license, I would simply ignore. They are jealous of want they couldn’t do for themselves, or others. It is obvious they don’t have money to build a career like you have. I am a Canadian but I appreciate any and all the help you can give these people in need. It is not just the Volcano that put them down, but now the Hurricane Lane. Thank you and try to get some rest for yourself. You are important too.
MY ALMIGHTY GOD... THE FATHER IN HEAVEN... IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST I PRAY TO YOU AND IN THE POWER OF HOLY SPIRIT... I BEG YOUR MERCY TO BLESS THE Hawaii... PROTECT THEM UNDER YOUR CARE AND PROTECTION... COVER THEM WITH YOUR WINGS... LORD YOU ARE MY DEFENDER AND PROTECTOR YOU ARE MY GOD IN YOU I TRUST... AMEN... Sing...ALLELUIA... ALLELUIA... ALLELUIA... ALLELUIA...ALLELUIA...ALLELUIA...ALLLELUIA...ALLELUIA...ALLELUIA... ALLELUIA...ALLELUIA...ALLELUIA...ALLELUIA...ALLELUIA...ALLELUIA...ALLELUIA... ALLELUIA... ALLELUIA... keep on singing... PRAISE THE LORD GOD... GLORY TO GOD...GLORY TO CHRIST JESUS.. AMEN. THANK YOU MY LORD AND MY GOD. AMEN
They were fortunate with Hector it swung to the south, less so with Lane hit with a deluge, hopefully the winds will hold off. Let's hope & pray this is the last of the season to swing close to the Isles...
any concerns with water breaking lava tubes, ground water and the volcanoes. Probably a dumb question. ....top notch cameras and Spielberg? just stay safe
My prayers are with you and all the people who have suffered so much in the last month's!! I think most people know what's going on with the weather being geoengineered!! God bless you and keep all your people safe!!
lakewood85 - the guy gets paid with a certain job description of "keeping US safe". I dont care if he looks worn out. He is being paid very well. If he doesnt like his job he can quit and we can remove one more paid county worker that money could go elsewhere for more important things than keeping us "safe". People are more than capable of keeping themselves safe.
Yea, we have people with this attitude over here (Christchurch, NZ) as well. I know that a lot of people are hurting right now, with the eruption and now this. They will hit out, sometimes unreasonably, because our natural instinct is to seek someone to blame for something we feel we no longer have control over. Recovery (body, soul, homes and community) takes time, a lot of time, but you will get there. Talmage's 'job' is just a part of this immediate effort. Necessary, sometimes hard to define or see the value, sometimes only well after the event(s)
I live in Kailua-Kona on the west side of the Big Island. Right now (3:15) I'm sitting at my desk and looking outside at the ocean. The radar shows the storm as being over the west side, not the Hilo side. So why is Hilo flooding? As I look outside here, it's dead calm, high broken clouds with some blue sky. We had a sprinkling of rain but only enough to wet part of the deck. What is going on with this forecast and what I am witnessing here? I must live in an alternative universe.
Forgive me if I sound ignorant to some folks but I would like to know if when they say the island of Hawaii do they mean all of them? On a map I saw where there was a number 1 by Honolulu then it went on to 3 and 4 for other places away from Honolulu. I guess what I am asking is whether this Hurricane how much Honolulu will be affected if it hits there? Thank you
If its the hurricane symbol with a number in it, the number states what the category is. The hurricane is going westward, it hits big island first, then the rest of the state. By the time it hits Honolulu/Oahu, it'll be a category 1 hurricane. If they say, it will make landfall, it means the eye of the hurricane hit land. The outskirts of the hurricane will hit land, so there will less damage. I hope that helps and I hope I answered your question.
So that means it should not do much damage to Honolulu? What is the main entry into Honolulu from the airport? And is that main road blocked already? And did you mean Honolulu & Oahu are the same place ?
People are always complaining about how much money this guy makes but, look at him...at the moment, every dollar of his paycheck is etched right into his face. Nobody would do this job for 50k. I hope he's only been I'll-tempered lately because he's tired out of his mind. He looks and sounds like he's about to do a faceplant. I'm surprised he's still lucid.
Doing I GOOGLE search I found: CIVIL DEFENSE ADMINISTRATOR: TALMADGE MAGNO Graduate of Hilo High and UHH w BA Geography. Retired National Park Service Ranger, 30 years with National Park Service providing; emergency management and law enforcement throughout western US and Hawaii. Last 8 years of career served as Chief Ranger of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. (Looks like he is in charge of it all.)
My heart goes out to him. He hasn't had a lot of down time in the past few months. The volcano has been ongoing stress and just as you think he's getting a break, a hurricane gets thrown at him.
For people in Hawaii, does the glass that is created when the lava hits the ocean ever wash up on shore, and if it does, does it make it unsafe to walk barefoot on the beaches?
Most of the glass particulates are carried into the air with the laze plume and are distributed to the surrounding area by wind. Most, if not all of the “glass” that remains in the ocean is still extremely small and extremely fragile. The surrounding waters are naturally very volatile so those fragile pieces managing to remain in any form that could be considered a hazard is a very minor possibility. Even then, the heated waters temporarily create local currents so the odds of particulate that small making it out into a normal current and then onto shore is small, even if it did, it wouldn’t be a hazard. Otherwise I’m pretty sure black sand beaches would be extremely uncomfortable beach’s to lay on 😜
One of my channel's reported that the windspeed according to the buoys that were 35 miles from the eye wall were only 40 to 45mpr... This is bazaar!! 😕

How is this rain affecting the volcano because when the volcano lava hit the ocean it explodes so what's going on with the rain and in the hurricane with the volcano?
@RepublicansAre DomesticTerroristsI don't believe that for a second...a guy was saying on an other channel...the magna chambers will fill up with water n explode eithet on the island or somewhere since their all connected under the ocean...be safe

You know it rains a lot on the Big Island, right? Kilauea is in one of the rainiest areas. Volcanoes National Park is right next to a rainforest. The lava lake at the summit of Kilauea was there for over three decades and rain had no effect.

My main concern would be the flooding
Water related deaths always kill more than extreme wind related deaths.
The island has great drainage, the flooding is minor
I wonder if FEMA is lurking around yet.
Oh they are just record them if they are doing anything

It goes to show how little people know.
