Take some ivory dish deteregent and an old tooth brush, and a white cloth. squirt a tiny bit on tooth brush, Half teaspoon of warm water and rub on spot. Take Ivory on brush and brush gently in a circular motion on stain. It should start liften. Do that a few times. Next, wet white cloth and wipe in a circcular motion. Let it dry on patio for 15 mins before bringing it inside. Lastly, wipe off with white paper towel.

Unfortunately, a lot of pet store employees at those big chain stores aren’t super educated on the animals they’re selling. The cage and food they sold you for King was not appropriate. If you ever decide to go with getting another Budgie, or any other bird, I highly recommend The Parrot and Bird Emporium in Feeding Hills, MA. They’re really educated on birds, they raise, train and board them. They also sell appropriate food, toys, and I believe cages as well. The cage King has was good for moving, vet visits or just temporary but they really need more room, and a seed diet isn’t the best for them either. I am sorry for this loss, and I hope you feel better soon.
Look into bariatric surgery. The sleeve. I am only suggesting because i did it myself. Especially if you still have state insurance. Let them help you pay for it. I know some people going to come for me, but i also know there are a lot of us that needed to go there and are now happy. It's just a suggestion. Good for you making the healthier decisions.

Birds are so fragile. I believe you gave him a great life. The smallest thing can take them out, it's really sad and it's one of it pets I'm afraid to get for my kids. I think your decision to take a break from pets to grieve and heal is very wise. I would recommend that when you're ready to get another pet, find a vet first. Because unexpected things come up and a good vet means everything when having a pet. We've lost a few pets over the years, so now I'm so paranoid of going through that again with my kids that I take our dog to wellness visits once a year. I can say, from experience, when you are ready for another pet, I would recommend a cat or a dog.

But I understand how you feel, when my daughters fish passed we both cried for months together because we got extremely attached to our animal.
