I am just now watching this video after spending a couple months trying to 100% Maine. All the tips are pretty good. Fuel is needed all over both maps as you will simply be stuck everywhere you go, either on deep water crossings, mud flats, or icy river crossings in Yellowrock.
I'll say it again, it would be *AMAZING* if they raised the level cap to at least 50 and add a few bonus level-unlocked decorations like stickers and ornaments to motivate truckers to keep on rolling.
I'd be very keen on this, the level cap thing is strange. I've been 30 for months and I'd imagine many other people have too.

@@ATribeCalledCars I played chronological and I was already Lvl 30 in Alaska, now I’m in Amur and probably could have been lvl 100 by now
Very true it would be nice if they had a Prestige system as well and increase the cat two level 50 and have five stages of prestige and after each Prestige you get unique icon a few other items such as the ability to redo tasks create tasks and increase crease the player amount from 4 to 8
I tend to follow the same procedure no matter the map, scout then fix logistics (blocked roads, downed bridges), then local missions, then I go to the tasks in the menu. This one will probably be much the same as I will scout fix logistics and the garage, then carry on as I normally do.
Unlock trailer store and tuning shop rest and save materials for the sawmill
Don't drive the frozen highway instead use drive to the south east corner of the map and there is lots of hard terrains near the river side
Unlock the tunnel near castle on the first map
You can easily cross the forest near church with spare parts to unlock landslide on the Beach
Driving thru shallow water is way faster than driving across flooded highway

Trailer store first as it allows you to refuel and repair vehicles nearby your garage, as well as giving you access to more trailer options.

This was going to be my tip as this is what I did. It is also one of the quickest "garage missions"

It's really important to note that, if you don't already have it, you're not going to get it, as you start off in Maine. I wasn't really prepared for that. You can't buy a truck. You can't outfit a truck. You can't even change your tires or your saddle. You're stuck with whatever you brought from the last map. Of course you can return there, modify your truck, and bring it back out again in Maine. But no options on Lowlands until the garage is restored. I found completing the Trailer Store first helped with my biggest need, that is, fuel! I needed to refuel all over this map and it was to me a big challenge.
The best tip is to play it with 4 players in co-op mode. Prioritise getting the trailer store up, as that'll solve the fuel problem and most of the repair problem. Next priority should be to get the repair and refuel for the garage. Once you get to that point, getting the tuning shop and truck store as well as the fuel station in the second map are easy enough.
And as weird as it may sound, there is quite a lot of relatively easy to traverse asphalt road out there. So even something as tiny as the 4070A with a fuel tank and full chains is a viable option.
Also this region really likes scouts. Driving around in my little tricked out Sentinel turned out incredibly useful, finding short cuts that cut vast amounts of time off journeys. Also worked great for shuttling fuel from the highway truck to the unlucky sap who ran out of fuel in the field.
Lowland is like Michigan combined with Yukon..but Yellow Rock is more like Amur as far as difficulty goes. I had 3 fuel trucks, 2 maintenance, and 2 loadstar with fuel and exploraiton trailers just to support the 2-3 truck that were actually doing the work. BTW important note, when you travel on the main road in Yellow rock, and your are heading toward the broken bridge, whenever yo encounter an ice patch that interrupts the road, go around it to your right...trust me, this is an unexpected life saver. It takes from 25 to 40 seconds to just drive around each one. Stay close to the breaking edge but not too much, and you won't need a 745 to pull you across every god damn time!! :P
Goooood suggestion, those ice patches are not so fun when you start and as you said that map is more Amur-esque. But thankfully not like that painful Northern Aegis Installation. At least, to me anyway.
5:06 if you look in the mirror of the truck just before he sooms in and screams, there is slenderman
In Yellowrock instead of unlocking the big tower in the middle, I find it’s easier to just tow the prototype with a Yar or other good scout. A few scans with that combined with other two watchtowers revealed whole map. I also used the tatarin to winch the Yar up to yellowrock and get through a few tough spots, the tatarin is great for Maine in general
Lots of ZikZ 605Rs, Azovs of all types. I've found Maine relaxing, I've found all the shortcuts I want, got my infrastructure built and saving all the logs for last :)
Similar to me, logging always last and generally a relaxing experience. The second map can be tough initially though.

I have my fuel trailers distributed in Maine beautifully. there are trailers everywhere.
the f750 has become my main support vehicle. I'm interested to see how that plays out on my next map
F 750 does well in most places except the worst of Amur and Imandra. Although that can be said of all scouts to be honest.
The two recommendations I have are to use the ANK MK38 with the ANKO tires as opposed to the tayga tires. And use the tatra force as a fuel and repair truck as it has a massive fuel add on and a roof rack.
Yeah the Tayga balloons are good for stability but those dual ANKO or even dual UOD II tyres seem happier in Maine. You get a lot of wheelspin with the balloons, unless carrying or pulling cargo.
Best fuel addon is paystar5600 with 2800litres, i use it in every map,
@@JohnWick_legend my issue with the 5600TS is it has massive fuel consumption and it does not have repair and fuel. I rarely need that much fuel but I often need the repair points.

Some nice tips here. I always have a few extra trucks for your forward operating base one.

Pheason 6 is great, I keep thinking more and more people probably know it as season but us old timers remember phases.
For that extra slice of the pain cake use highway tyres everywhere.
It's funny that highway tyres are also bad on tarmac because it's easier to lose control. Fun times.
this garage repair tasks would probably here to stay in future maps.. it's pretty cool, though I wish we could also fix the broken bridge near the garage and clear up the big rocks on the road in the 2nd map
The is a mod which helps you build a bridge with a trailer. I used it just for that bridge.
I don't see the point in those big rocks

I found that chains, rather than offroad tires are the better option for Maine.
I told my cat about your channel (like you said in your gearbox video). She didn't care.
She cares inside, just didn't want to show it. Probably.
Started using the CAT with the fuel add-on more and more... and on these maps, its a real gem!
I like your style.
One more tip: don't leave cargo slots on your trailer empty. Always take as many as possible and store them next to your garage. It can save you a lot of time.

this map is a wattery swampy muddy hellhole, every task is a pain in the ass to complete, i wish we were able to place small bridges and planks in really muddy areas because some areas take forever to traverse

In here I just cant mention that for me ( and I guess for others as well ) ziks 605 is becoming an all-in-one work horse. But - western star 6900 shines here as well. Need to tame it, as it wants to roll over more than not, but if driven carefuly - does the job well. Fuel trailers in one place or two is handy. And Tatarin shines here as well - goes like a tank, no mater what. Other than that - hate water sections on highway, makes driving slow. Wery slow. New trucks - need to test. Have Forester, will test some time later ...
I have a best trucks for Maine video coming soon and let's just say you may have mentioned two of them! I need to review the Forester as I've not used it that much either.
@@ATribeCalledCars to be honest - since I got Ziks 605, I have a feeling that devs just made almost all other trucks obselite in game. Yes, one can have some other "love afair", like you do with tayga ( 🐯🤣) but since ziks - its more "meh" to others than not. But its just me and my play style ... :D
@@AverageLatvianDude It's just that the ZiKZ 605R is an unfair truck. I seriously think that it doesn't even need its roof rack. But, I found that it lacks the log carrier front, much to my satisfaction!
@@francistessier687 well, yes and no. As in real life that truck is a beast, its intended to go anywhere. And its holding that in game. On other hand ziks makes other trucks somewhat useless, and its up to players preference to use others.
Chevy Kodiak does surprisingly well in Maine only with full upgrade and uod 2 tires
It's a decent truck and UOD IIs are awesome. Agreed.
To clear the rock fall in the lowlands, I went straight through the forest beside it with a tayga, so you can get through to the other side, its easier than other routes
Love Maine. Best DLC maps so far.

I unlocked the trailer store first and then put the RNG bridge over the exit where you cant repair the bridge
For the Northern landslide grab the Twinsteer and take the path towards the warehouse but rather than continuing up the path there's a place you can sneak through the trees up the hill and it brings you out right by the log station with the 1 long plank you need to clear the landslide.
Goood suggestion, getting those road blocks fixed makes life a lot easier.
I've found unlocking the trailer store much easier than doing the refuel/repair (no need to jaunt over to Yellow Rock). Then you can use the maintenance trailer repair/refuel trick to keep your trucks up and running. I do enjoy that most trucks seem to work? I felt with some of the earlier DLC were just exercises in frustration (if not near impossible) if you weren't using super top tier trucks like the Tayga/Azov 6.
Well I think all DLC maps highlight that many trucks are underpowered or the terrain physics is too harsh or maybe both. But Maine does allow you to experiment more, although all the upgrades apply for sure.

I absolutely have to equip curtains to all trucks, it's basically the law. We need some more soft furnishings!
Fixing fuel stations are priority as well. And it is easly done.
You don't need the fuel station if you have the trailer store opened
Does the log crane twist it's grabbing arm when ramped towing platform is installed for me it doesn't work instead the ramp is extended and retracted

Ben, what's the 8 wheeled monster with the 4 (6?) slot bed you use in various places throughout the video (the one you start with)? I don't recognise it, is that a mod or just an in-game truck pimped up? I've not started Maine yet but trying to get an idea of what trucks I'll need to buy before I do. I still do 90% of the game with the Tayga 6436 BHF mod which is utterly epic (I have three of them!) but as the game gets harder I am starting to need beefier trucks... going to try the new Zikz 612 DLC as well.
Hey. It's the WS 714WM. Absolute monster, totally overpowered but useful for when you just want to get stuff done or mess around.
My advice get the Tatarin APC JBE mod and go wild
Oh yeah, that thing is a beast. I sometimes use it for rapid scouting when repeating maps.

I seriously need help with this game, I bought the maine dlc and when I traveled to maine.. I literally don't have a vehicle to use. So I can't fix up anything. I don't understand this. Please help
I think a video on some of the alternate routes could be very useful for players. The level design in Maine basically makes a large part of the map redundant, and difficult to plan bigger loads or trips. A couple of the key routes through the forests and behind the garage for example could be very handy
Dude I have had the same complaint for a long time. They WASTED 90% of each map, as you NEVER have to actually traverse anywhere but the same route over and over again. Each time I start a new Big contract and see that the delivery and pickup points are basically the same as the mission before it, I get frustrated. So much wasted space that was used for nothing. I'm 800+ hrs into this game and that is by far my biggest gripe. 😡 Glad someone else noticed this. 👍

I did repair and refuel first then garage space
I’m not a big fan of using mods during my main gameplay but for these maps I found the deployable bridge mod essential - 1 between the garage and the saw mill on lowlands (it’s just long enough to span the gap if placed accurately) and another just inside map 2, on the uphill section by the crossroads - you can deploy it in as shallow a ‘tent’ position as possible and drive over the boulders blocking the path to the warehouse. You can even get the longest trailers over it no problem.
I dont use mods at all (i just dont like it, feels like cheating to me). I had no Problem with it cause you can just drive up the hill one the right of the broken bridge.

our crew has arrived in Maine today. not good. it's ...not good. most of the roads are washed out. there seem to be abandoned vehicles strewn about everywhere. The crazy thing: other than this Irish pub that's going 24/7 inside a small shed, I haven't seen a sole. And forget about any sort of federal government, FEMA service...

Watching this it looks like you have sudden frame rate drops. I have exactly the same thing, I thought it was just me. Is this a common problem?
Yes, it got better after the last update but I still get spikes. I think SnowRunner isn't the best optimised game.
What combination of fuel support is best?
I usually use a fuel trailer as it can be left behind and if you winch it gets lighter than when hooked up to the tow bar. Also the fuel tanker addons are pretty heavy and make tipping more likely.
I just transferred to a different region whenever I had to switch frame add-ons or refuel. That was a lot of loading screens.

@@ATribeCalledCars I was on PC, I just never repaired the garage and transferred to Michigan whenever I needed to change frame add-ons or refuel. So every time I finished a delivery I would transfer the truck to Michigan, exit the garage, re-enter the garage, switch add-ons, and transferred to Maine again.
@@jonasdelapena3543 Ohhh I misread, blame the wine. Yeah I did the same, wanted to explore before getting it repaired. Even on Series X those loading screens add up!

There is a place you can manufacture metal beams called the Metal Factory. You'll need a generator trailer to get it going, I made a video guide on how to use it on the channel. Basically, you are not stuck.

Couldn't get further in maine cannot find the fuel barrels they don't show up so with that being said I ain't playing anymore seems like the game itself is screwed up
If I remember correctly, these come from the closest warehouse to the East. If not there, do you not see icons over each building? Eventually you should find it.

I’m trying to enjoy this game, but having it locked on 30fps on my PS5 is annoying and not enjoyable!
You really can't unsee it. I'd probably play more on Series X because sofa but 30FPS isn't so good for recording.

After over 800 Hours in SnowRunner I have to say I've noticed something, distressing.. the mission design. The Maps are HUGE and beautiful, yet you barely see any of it through missions. Literally every contract in Michigan Phase 3 DLC sends you down the SAME route, over, and over, and over again. The mission design was LAZY in the DLCs, as this wasn't really an issue in the Base Game. I get so frustrated everytime I open a new Big contract and it places the warehouse and objective area directly where I came from in the mission before it. They didn't think it through, at ALL. After about 100 contracts or so you will see what I mean, it's unbearable after awhile. I still play the game but once you notice this problem you cannot UnNotice it.. 😔. They could've had us running all over each and every map through every tiny back dirt road and main highway, but they repeatedly send you to the EXACT same route each and every time, it's kind of ridiculous that this wasn't realized upon actually designing the missions/tasks. Like c'mon man! 😫
You're right about that and even if you do visit certain parts it's not often. I guess adding new tasks and variation in the dev approach would help a lot with this. Certain phases are particularly repetitive too.
I really want to enjoy this game but it's so slow paced I'll buy myself bored to death in just a couple hours
