    Great news, not upgraded to 2022 yet but will be soon. Would love to take a look at MAUI (never had the chance to do Xamarin). Hope you do a tutorial on it, something like the tournament tracker app you did ages ago, which was great. Keep up the good work!

    Thanks, I had 17.3 but not Maui so you saved me a lot of head-scratching!

    Is it possible to make a Bluetooth connection in your .NET MAUI application?
    If its possible, do you know how to do it?

    Been waiting for this release to begin learning MAUI. I had planned to start learning it today, but annoying colleagues kept getting in my way asking me to actually do some *real* work instead! 🙄

      Yea, I have that problem, working all day in winforms and web mvc, never have time to learn. and too tired to learn on a night now in my old age.

    Been using Maui for a while now. I hope it gets better. Been using console for key & publication.

      It will. They rushed it out the door. Now they will work to improve and polish it over the next year or so.

    I'm wondering (and sorry for the ignorance, but google let me down for this question), if you can create a desktop application using MAUI or WinUI3 instead of WPF without having to touch anything related to the MS store? Meaning just creating a simple exe?

    • @IAmTimCorey
      @IAmTimCorey  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really. Technically you can if you side-load the application, but I'm assuming you don't want to do that on the client machines as well. In that case, you need to use WPF.

    Is there a way to try out MAUI without visual studio? I'm a Linux user and most of the .NET Core tooling doesn't consider development outside visual studio.

      You Can but Maui isn't supported for linux apps. You Can develop apps ON linux but not FOR linux

    • @relaxwithai
      @relaxwithai 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ioneocla6577 How do one go about that? From the resources have seen so far, they all point to Visual Studio which doesn't have a Linux version

    I saw his update, didn't realize it had MAUI and I instead got the update for winui3 😥

    Do #MAUI have 3D functionality?

    I'd like to develop app on Android, but last time I checked, I could not get even android emulator to launch let alone run a stock demo app code.
    Let's hope it will be easier this time.

    • @IAmTimCorey
      @IAmTimCorey  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try tweaking the emulator. I have found some emulators are slower than others. Also, check to be sure your machine is optimized for running the emulator. Sometimes, it is just a matter of changing some settings.

    planing to upgrade our xamarin Apps to .net MAUI at work, but first we need some courses or videos to get started. An application from Start to Finish cross platform could be nice 🙂

    Great video! I think I like UNO better than Maui though. The Blazor Hybrid is a nice option too!

    Is this going to be another UI framework that is going to be dropped by MS after 10 minutes?!

    • @IAmTimCorey
      @IAmTimCorey  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This has already been around for 7 years (Xamarin). Also, what framework has Microsoft ever dropped quickly?

    I really don't know why MAUI doesn't support Linux.

    • @IAmTimCorey
      @IAmTimCorey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The problem with supporting Linux is which Linux? Different distros of Linux use different engines for rendering. That makes creating desktop apps difficult. That's the biggest issue with supporting Linux.
