Spider-Man is generally a street level hero in the comics and I love how this movie actually portrays him as such. Whereas the Avengers battle the bigger cosmic threats, Spidey just stops petty crimes, performs flips for people and helps old ladies across the street. He’s just that kind of guy.
I think this movie just fails to bring the simplicity of a spiderman film which Tobey and Andrews movie give justive to for me it is everything but lack the simplicity of peter parker being the spiderman.Basically its too grand for a spiderman film

When was that? I don't remember a sequence like that.
Almost six years and four appearances later and this still remains as the only time we get to see MCU Spidey being that ''Friendly Neighborhood''. High hopes for the next trilogy tho.
Back in the late 80s, a friend who was a collector lent me every Spider-Man comic from the "pilot episode" in Amazing Fantasy right through from 1962 to about 1988. I read the lot and they were great stories. They were mainly about Peter Parker and how complicated life was for a young superhero trying to get through college, earn a living, get a date, and keep his secret. That's what made him a great character: he was so much more than just his powers. This is a fun clip that catches some of that spirit.
Yes and MCU Spider-man captures all of what you said here of a young hero that goes through many MANY problems along the way throughout his life as he tries to overcome them throughout these movies. And it's fantastic to see MCU Spider-man grow and learn through all the movies which is fantastic to see!
Spider-Man is the only Marvel hero I actually like. Him and Captain America. Always been a DC guy. They have more interesting characters, JMO. But i'll always love Spider-Man and what Stan Lee created him to stand for.
Tom Holland is really the embodiment of the nickname “Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman”. Just the face, voice, facial expression, and everything.

One of the best scenes in the MCU. Peter showing an old lady directions is exactly what Spider-Man is all about.
It shows that he’s more than just a crime fighter. He helps out people in anyway he can like helping an old lady with her groceries or stopping troubled youths from making bad decisions.
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Later on:
"I got to beat an old lady with a stick to get this"
Yeah and then he bashes an asian dude trying to get into his car. Real smooth.
why is he opening the car with a crowbar
The part where Peter Parker tightened his suit in that alleyway is actually pretty satisfying.
spider-man has always been my favorite superhero because of how relatable he is. he's just a regular guy who happened to gain super powers by accident, and it's not always about fighting enemies that threaten to destroy the earth. sometimes it's just random criminals or robbers. and he doesn't act like he's above anyone, he just chats with civilians like they're his equals.
From Homecoming to No Way Home, Peter's character development is done very well

Spider-Man is the best Marvel hero ever
Peter Parker removes his shoes, pants and his shirt then dons his Spider-Suit to become Spider-Man to defeat the supervillains at the city.
Honestly I don't know why people don't like Spidey like this, like yeah I get the whole incentive of him relying on Stark tech and all but for the first time we actually see a happy Spidey, no loss of loved ones or anything, just a kid who wants to impress his idol/mentor.
But I will say, the whole development of Peter from here to Now Way Home is absolutely incredible and so well done.
Tom just gets shit on because of other fan bases, people with nostalgia and underrated work wouldn't let other versions work well anyway, I liked every spider-man because they were unique in their own ways, Tobey maguire introduced the ehole world of being a humble superhero and even the most rushed spider-man 3 was actually good, garfield had the best emotional depth of suffering from death of uncle Ben and Gwen Stacy, only wish he had better writing to work with and Holland shines in both department of Peter Parker and spider-man, he just happens to be in avengers existing MCU where he's bound to rely on stark tech considering how much he helped but it doesn't make him any less of a spider man because FFH and NWH prove it how he had to stand up for himself after Tony and aunt may died
I just wish the CGI was better. How does it look amazing in the alley right here but garbage in other parts? It sucks and it feels like a cartoon sometimes and I’m not actually looking at a real Spider-Man. Still love em tho that’s my only complaint :)
@@dj0rtega yeah I agree with you on that, it was the same for me during Black Panther as well, both good movies but the CGI really let them down
Stark Tech is just a very minor plot device but toxic fan made issue out of no issue.
The bright side as a casual fan, I can enjoy without the baggage.
Well and no way home did fix a lot of these issues but it felt as if he was all about being part of the avengers and he did to some extant especially during far from home which is honestly the only Spider-Man movie I don’t like as i find 3 and amazing 2 to be dumb fun but he was an iron man jr. that isn’t what Spider-Man is about and hell he’s only a reserve member of the avengers in the comics. Now inFar from home he was just too passive a character. The only active decisions he made were to not bring the suit to Europe and to give the villain the glasses which is what jump started the entirety of the finale of that film. That said I still felt he made some pure dumbass decisions in no way home and as a result of everything I still have to put the Tobey spidey and Andrew spidey above his as they never actively pissed me off.

Tom Holland is getting better as a Spider man. Nice to see progress throughout the movies.
LOL Tom Holland has ALWAYS been perfect as Spider-man ever since civil war he's been developing and growing more and more fantastically as time goes on even more so. Him "getting better" better not be downplaying how fantastic he was in Homecoming or in Civil War at all as he's ALWAYS been a perfect spider-man completely!
@@Gadget-Walkmen I disagree he had Spider man down for like the early stages like when Spider man was more child like because he started out young. But I felt he stayed that way for awhile. It’s changing now.
@@LeonDavis154 Lol what? Spider-Man ALWAYS acts fun and lighthearted as a character entirely. Spider-Man is absolutely NOT a “dark” or “overtly serious” as he always stays fun and light hearted jokester no matter how old he gets as he’s SUPPOSED to be a friendly neighborhood superhero to people as Spider-Man is always a positive character. Holland had Spider-Man down for early stages AND throughout the films more and more.
Spider-Man ALWAYS started out young as Spider-Man starts off his story as a hero when he’s 15 in highschool as that’s the origin of ALL of Spider-Man’s stories, he’s supposed to be a teenage superhero and he grows more and more as time goes on
Yes Spider-Man/Peter Parker grows and matured throughout time and learns more values and lessons but he always stays true to who he is.
I have no idea on what you mean by “he stayed that way for awhile”, just lol, what?
Tom Holland’s MCU Spider-Man learned valuable lessons at the end of every movie and he grew more and more as times goes on.
I wouldn’t say at all that it’s “changing now” as Holland’s Spider-Man has always grew and learned more and more as time goes as Spider-Man is never supposed to be too serious as he’s always gotta be fun loving while maturing at the same time which the movies do very well at developing him throughout time with No Way Home pushing to PHENOMENAL heights as a character entirely.
But he was pushed even MORE so at the end of No Way Home which was a fantastic movie to as a whole for Spider-Man and his character!
@@Gadget-Walkmen You made my point he might've started out very lighthearted and fun but he grew up and matured and as an adult had a more serious outlook on life especially when he faced more serous obstacles and had responsibilities there's numerous comics where his attitude is more mature and serious .When I said he stayed "that way for a while" that meant he kept acting like a kid in all the movies. where's the growth? he's basically the same person in all the movies. He learned a valuable lesson in no way home but it took them what 3 or 4 movies for it to happen? It's not good character development to have the character be the same in 3 or 4 movies.
@@LeonDavis154 That’s not really “making your point” that’s explaining what and who Spider-Man IS at face value as light-hearted and fun in every version to him no matter what as that’s the whole point of the character as he’s NEVER a dark brooding character like Batman at all. If you wanted him to be more mature, ok than sure, but that’s different how you first phrased it in your first two comments here which are badly misconceived on what the character is supposed to be.
You say “where’s the growth” is a fantastic way to say you weren’t paying attention to anything that in any of the movie AT ALL, that’s what.
And there WAS growth in the films that was done little by little as he learned a new lesson in each one of his films but No Way Home just had a VASTLY bigger growth for him to go through due to heavy conflicting nature of the movie.
It didn’t take him “3 or 4 movies” AT ALL, lol just no, for that to happen, it’s just that the obstacles that he was facing in No Way Home was so massive in comparison to the previous films that he was pushed even further to manage and with self-sacrifice and a vastly greater sense of responsibility due to how big the problem REQUIRED him to do so.
Captain America is ultimately the same character as he was in the beginning of his first movie’s appearance, even BEFORE he had any superhuman powers as a man whose willing to stand up for himself and his others despite his lack of strength, in to all of his MCU’s appearance of a man whose unwavering towards his own convictions of doing what’s right and he had a lot of character development that was subtle in it’s approach on how he saw things from who he fought with since the start. You don’t need to change fundamentally as a person to have good character development, Captain America has proven that and so has MCU Spider-man as well. You don’t seem to grasp on the many ways on how good character development can work and operate because their still heroes but they learn a new value bit by bit. Not every character is going to be the same, that should be obvious which is something you’re not getting if you think that MCU Spider-Man “be the same” for “3-4 movies” lol not at all. That’s a great way to say you didn’t get what was going on in any of them as a character doesn’t need to fundamentally change who they are as a person to get growth because as I said, captain America has proven that, and so has MCU Spider-Man as they HAVE demonstrated to HAVE good character development in every one of their films little by little from how they manage see things. They don’t need to change entirely as a person of who they are as they’re still hero characters who do the right thing to save others but they go about it in different ways. That’s what your not seeing AT ALL here.
This movie did a great job at showing how if there's nothing to swing from he can't swing (obviously.) Between the end here when he just falls and the suberb scene where he's swing around awkwardly bc all that's around him is houses are both perfect lol

Stan Lee: "Marjorie how's your mother?"
bruh that lady looks like she's pushing 80...her mom must be over 100
“Marjorie! How’s you mother?”
“Dead.”
His flirting, saying she looks young
It was usual american mother joke
I mean I know a man who's 70 and his mother is close to 100
He streams on twitch and his mother almost always appears on chat.
People who appear 80 are isolated around 60 so her mom is probably like 90
God this is easily one of the best scenes in the whole MCU. Fits the character so well and it's just hilarious and charming
I legit forgot he wore a red and blue in the beginning, I was so used to the iron spider and the black and red so I completely forgot he had a red and blue suit.
He went from being this kid full of dreams to sacrificing his identity and life for the multiverse.
He finally is Spider-MAN
The one and only Spider-Man
He always was….
@@vanblitz7009 He wasn’t Spider-Man to his full potential. The Spider-Man home trilogy is about fully becoming his own character and finding his sense of purpose. That’s one of the pay offs in No Way Home.
LOL He's ALWAYS been Spider-MAN ever since Civil War as he was Spider-man for 6 months, just stop downplaying MCU Spider-man acting like he wasn't fully spider-man before this No Way Home, just stop with your nonsense.
@@Gadget-Walkmen I know right? It's pretty pathetic for some people claiming mcu spider-man is not spider-man when in reality is literally is no what your opinion is on him.

The best superhero suit up seen ever 😏
I always found this scene so real, like imagine the struggle everyday just to change into your suit, having to take everything off and then the costume on
