"we are not beating any autism allegations today" LMAOOO, this one is going straight into the library of shit to say when I'm about to do something extremely autistic-coded.
Can you please explain what that means? Is making fun of people with autism a trend now (I wouldn't be surprised since Americans have no humanity or soul), what is considered "autism coded". I honestly feel like the whole world is chronically on tiktok and turn themselves into boring robots just so somebody won't think who they are or what they're doing is "weird" and it's totally sad and pathetic. Bunch of personalityless sheep.
If you do keep drinking them, you should buy a pack of each brand and make some videos comparing them, there's not many people who have actually gone through and compared all the brands for taste, value, and nutrition. The cheapest and best value one I've found is Equate (Walmart's brand) "Nutritional Shake" which is slightly over $1/bottle for 220 calories. There's definitely a lot of options but some of them actually taste pretty good. Technically if you're using it for videos then it's a tax write off, right? For the cost, compare it to how much you spend when you eat out, you probably spent more on those few meals you actually ate than you did on all of the drinks you bought in total. It feels like a lot when you're buying it all at once but it's really not, you're just used to buying it day to day which feels like less but is actually more.
I can eat, but after a while (some days or weeks) i just start to eat less again. and even before that, i dont really gain much weight, i go from 62 to 65kg, even as I eat as much as fat overweight people I know. However I dont eat as much bread.
Of course you can't eat all the food / water they give us is all poison you think it's a coincidence that everyone has some kind of health related issue??? It's the food and water and it's no accident it's all by design. You can't live in this devil run earth without some kind of ailment either physically mentally or financially and like I said it's no fkgn accident.
I enjoyed hearing your story with struggling to gain weight. I've had the same issue for the past 6 years, I managed to gain 20 pounds in my first year of trying to gain weight but since then I just can't seem to put on anymore. Watching this video has made me feel less alone in the situation so thank you!
Take your child to a doctor instead of asking random strangers on the interent. I swear there is something genetically incorrect with the inbred american brain@@SupremeMARR
@@hapybratt8640 I feel the same way. Plus, now that I’m in vet school studying about reptiles and other animals, I’ve ironically wanted to avoid related content in my free time such as watching TH-cam. I keep a distance from animals outside of school/clinics to avoid burnout. I still absolutely love reptiles, my pets at home are my life, but compassion fatigue is rampant in this field and I need to keep some distance outside of my career to preserve my passion and love for them inside my career.
I have an assortment of medical conditions, two of which are vasular compressions(i have wacky anatomy) called SMAS and MALS. They cause a lot of pain anytime I eat or drink, so I have struggled with that for almost my whole life. I am also allergic to wheat, egg, milk, and soy so that complicated things. A year and a half ago, my SMAS became much more severe, and my dudenum(a part of your small intestines) was compressed completely, squeezing it shut to the point that nothing can pass through, making me vomit up anything I ate or drank. I was around 110lbs at 5'7, and dropped to 87lbs. I was hospitalized and got a feeding tube that bypassed the compression and emptied formula(bascially just nutrion shakes) into the next section of my intestines. I am now 102lbs and have not eaten orally for about a year. At the end of this summer, I am getting surgery to fix both my compressions, and I will have to learn how to eat again which will be very interesting.
Thats crazy I had MALS (had surgery) and Have SMAS currently still struggling myself (108 lbs 6’1 looking at hospitalization potentially for a couple months to get my weight stable again… it’s such a rare condition you don’t frequently see people talk about it! YOUR A CHAMP BTW! 💪
My son who is autistic he struggles with eating as well. He has two favorite foods he will be excited to eat but that’s it. But if you have insurance and are up for it, try to find eating therapy services for adults. It might help you understand your relationship with food and work through it to feel more secure with foods. My son can finally stand looking at food which is his personal first step. This was 6 months of working hard with him. Eating is very hard when your body doesn’t help you ping hunger cues. It’s a long battle for sure. Good luck with your food journey.
I just discovered your channel and we are so much alike except for age. I’m 67 and autistic. The fitness, strength training,, and looking good are aspirations for me too. I am horribly uncoordinated and there is no way I can do the one wheel like you do. And eating is a chore for me also. I am impressed at how well you speak and communicate though. I really struggle with this myself. My youtube conversations are not well spoken but I try. Congratulations on your channel.
This is honestly one of the most relatable videos I’ve ever seen. Thank you for honestly portraying how hard it is to eat when you hate eating. So many people don’t understand
The food cravings/hunger portion of the video really resonated with me. I also have a lot of trouble with appetite and feeling ill while/after eating. My doctor wanted me to gain some weight over the last six months but I lost 5lbs instead 😢 down from 118 to 113 at 5' 7". It's a tough problem to have, and I'm really rooting for you to find a good balance with your eating habits.
So I'm in an extremely similar boat. 5'7" and I've been stuck around 145 for the past 4-5 years. I also hate eating with a passion but enjoy flavors (still trying to kick vaping). I've always considered switching to shakes like you but always thought it was too expensive. I try to drink 2 a day now and have had a lot of muscle increase but not gaining weight. I don't track anything but I'm still doing what I can! Best of luck man!
i feel u on the not eating thing, its so hard remembering that i have to eat to keep myself going and can't just live off of good vibes lol. i always end up forgetting i havent eaten till the evening, or the house only has ingredients/foods i dont like and not eat anything. personally, i like to make sure comfort foods are always in the house. even if its a snack or light meal, its better than nothing. and i like to find out what "real foods" are good for me and try them in different forms! basically, treat my comfort foods like potatoes or eggs and eat them in as many diff ways to branch out into other foods. this might be a lil harder with sensory issues but its def possible. im loving the evolution of this channel, can't wait to see even more progress!!
@GoHerping I'm not sure what genetics has in the cards for you. Look at your parents, your Aunts, Uncles etc and see what they look like, life will catch up at some point. Your metabolism will slow down the older you get. You could always ask a dr to do blood work since you're already dropping a pound. Although, like you said, it could be water weight. Stick to a shake or 2 a day for nutritional purposes, especially if you are not taking supplements but keep eating. The busy like is good but one day you'll slow down with your slower than usual metabolism and boom the weight will collect with no problem.
Loved this video, would love to see one about your personal experience with eating difficulty and your other video ideas. I've only had a few periods where eating was a similar difficulty to what you described and it was so so difficult, glad youre cooking up a strategy thats working for you.
Mine is a “see food” diet too because of literally everything you said. Even if it’s Wendy’s or some cookies, if I’m actually feeling hungry, I’ll eat it when I’m craving it. Part of the other issue, is the less you eat, the less your metabolism responds to hunger/calorie deficits. You’re so used to borderline starving, your body gets anxious at the proposal you’ll feed it normally.
I don't know how much you cook at home or if you're a good cook at all but for me that helps. Getting to be part of the process for prepping meals makes me more hungry than if I'm going out to eat. There's one meal I could eat every day that's healthy and hardy. Pan seared chicken breast, usually one breast cut into two pieces so it cooks quicker. As much steamed broccoli as I want and fried potatoes and onions. Delicious.
Does the opposite for me, I absolutely hate (and I mean H - A - T - E) cooking, if anything by the time I'm done I'm so pissed off I just don't want to eat out of spite, so I just don't bother and have toast 😂
@@WeSleepForever91 Maybe it's frustrating because you just aren't good at it. Everything is practice and with a bit of understanding how to cook and how food work together it becomes enjoyable. I used to hate it and I still get really frustrated when I make mistakes, which are rare nowdays but 4 or 5 years ago I constantly over-cooked or used the wrong seasonings with my foods. It also allowed me to find what I like most which is the simple and easy to cook things. Health wise it's also ideal but who said I can't live to be 100 on toast!
I'd say I'm average at cooking, not good and not bad. It's actually more the whole process of it I hate. I find it incredibly boring, the time that I'm stuck doing that I could spend doing much more fun things that I actually enjoy so resent it for that (I think that's part of the adhd to be honest cos I can't stand about doing the same thing for ages) and the clean up needed after is the worst. Especially washing the dishes. I hate washing dishes more than anything else in the world
@@WeSleepForever91 I have adhd. I think you're speaking about autism personally. Also I wash the dishes as I go because there is always down time while cooking, which my ad/hd brain loves doing because it's switching tasks. No one likes cooking then washing 20 dishes. You also likely up more dishes than necessary due to bad planning. If you don't like cooking because you're lazy and don't like doing dishes and instead prefer to play video games try being honest. I dated someone for three years that couldn't cook and wouldn't do dishes because "they hate it more than anything in the world." Ultimately I chalked it up to being lazy or a hyper type of autism and it ultimately ended the relationship. I'm not going to serve chicken tenders and macaroni at my wedding because my partner only eats a select few things. -TLDR I'm not hating, I'm just saying that it seems like you might just be a bit lazy and if that suits your lifestyle so be it.
hey man, im the heaviest I've ever been i went from a max of 115 soaking wet to 160 out of nowhere. which is very healthy for my Hight. started working out and now im converting that weight to muscles now. use to be like you where i could eat and eat and still have no weight change. i wish you luck man!
I feel you with the hunger thing and not eating very much and drinking Ensure growing up lol. I really don't get hungry until the late evening time. Cannot eat breakfast I don't know why it makes me feel sick to my stomach. It took me until recently in my mid-30s for my metabolism to slow down which help me gain some weight. I used to be really self-conscious about not being able to gain weight... Not so much now I learned to love my body and I realize I'm only 5'1 and petite. Don't get me wrong I can put some food down during the evening time it just never accumulated to weight gain. Oh and I have to say I haven't watched your videos recently but I could definitely tell you gain some weight! Whatever you're doing keep it up it's working ❤ as long as it's healthy for your mind and body
Love to see it Alex! You are worrying a little bit too much about day to day weight changes. Weigh yourself everyday, but then compare the averages of one week to another. My weight will randomly spike or drop like 4 pounds in a day, but it’s all about the long term trend.
I have this same problem lol. I was a stick figure- barely 110- all through school and when I joined the military, I gained 20 pounds during training in 3 months and it made me so happy. After training, on my own, I jumped to almost 180 from going to the gym and eating chipotle. I’ve definitely lost most of that weight since then from stress and losing my desire to eat most days, but I think the fact that my days were so full with working out, eating 3x a day, and regular duty really helped me gain all that weight. I’m not so much of a stick figure, but I’m not at all the powerhouse of muscle that I was before. I miss it lol. I just find it so hard to eat. I go through the same thought process when I get food too. I’m gonna get some protein shakes and get back in the gym and hope that’ll get me hungry for food again. I randomly lost 10 pounds and now I’m 148 and it’s killing me. I’m like 5’6 ish, almost 5’7, so I know I’m pretty much a healthy weight, but it all goes to my thighs. I wanna gain some muscle in my arms and back so I don’t look so skinny anymore
If you like the convenience of the shakes but the cost is too much I’d suggest either making your own mass gainer (pretty simply. Can blend oats, pb, protein powder, etc put it in a container and pour a glass throughout the week) or nuts. Especially nuts during your Amazon shifts. They are super dense in calories and quite nutritious. Pretty easy to mindlessly snack on them in my opinion as well. Eating a handful every hour or so during a shift could easily lead to ≈1000 calories
Keep in mind that you probably gained a lot of water weight from the shakes, so while the number of the scale went up, you most likely only gained a couple real pounds (hence why it started dropping again so quickly, you started losing the water weight) I struggle with the same issue, and I've done (and sometimes still do) exactly what you did in this video with the shakes. I am a similar height and was the same weight. I ended up gaining 20lbs in 4 months and maintained that weight until now, where I'm starting to try and gain again. Consistency really is the key.. you WILL get to where you want to be as long as you keep eating/drinking. Drinking more and eating more also slowly increased my appetite and my ability to eat more, too. I ate between 2700 and 3500 without missing a single day, the longer I went on, the easier it got. TLDR KEEP EATING, DON'T LET THE SCALE FOOL YOU. IF YOU'RE EATING OVER 3000 CALORIES EVERY DAY YOU WILL GAIN WEIGHT. YOU WILL MEET YOUR GOAL. YOU GOT THIS BROTHER. edit: try dextrose powder, it's free calories. I did half GOMAD for awhile too, and that worked wonders. nutricost dextrose is cheap and plentiful, combined with fairlife whole milk and you will not stop gaining weight. I want to see your journey and I want to see you succeed brotha
Dang bro were like polar opposites but similar lmao. I'm 5"4" and was 405lbs in 2021, I've lost over 170lbs and gained alot of muscle but I've hit a platuea in weightloss and can't get under 228 while eating 1500 cals a day and training 5 days a week. I'd reccommend getting mass gainer shakes it's one big shake that's like 1200 calories. I really think you should focus on training intensity and volume if you wanna put on size. train at least 4 days a week (preferably more) and train to failure with each set. I reccomend jeff nippard's hypertrophy fundementals training program, it's the one I started out with. Maybe try not goin on bike rides as much too, and I'd say you should be eating no less than 4k cals with 175g of protein to really put on size. But remember those calories are kinda useless if you aren't training hard and frequently. Anyways herpman that's my two cents, keep goin and in 12 months you'll see even more gains and be even stronger. love the new content btw
I had this long message to you and accidentally hit cancel instead of reply so here is the short version- I can relate, lost 100 pounds and also can't get past a plateau. (218 for me) I know it gets discouraging so I just wanted to say congrats on losing 170lbs that is such a huge accomplishment, seriously..it's incredible. 💛💪🌺good luck and stay healthy my friend
your body has just found a way to make your current lifestyle its new norm meaning it not going through as much energy like it did when it had an excess of it. you will ALWAYS plateau but that NOT a bad thing. you just have to find a way to knock your body out of equilibrium to get it to use those calories more. that can be done through more rigorous or longer exercise. i will never say to lower food more as that should be done with the help of a health professional. if you go to try and maintain weight that will be the hardest adjustment as thats when u want the body to plateau
What I did when I couldn't gain weight and enjoy food either. I would eat soft calorie dense foods that are easy to get down like sweet potatoes, loaded baked potatoes, eggs, Brazilian nuts (very calorie dense), ice cream as you said. You are not suppose to replace your meals with those drinks not only is that very unhealthy, you just won't gain weight that way. What I did was eat all my meals for the day, get all the calories in I could, then before bed I would drink 2-4 drinks then go to bed. Just increase your calories by 500-1000 per day. But you would have to figure out how many calories you were eating on average per day prior to your weight gain journey. Also I wouldn't do any cardio (all the walking is burning off the calories you're drinking), only weight lifting. Drinking your calories in that way will only cause you to end up looking skinny fat, big belly, skinny arms and legs. I have tons of how to gain weight videos on my channel.
I've had the same issue for years. 6'2" ectomorph who's been floating at 130. Not good. I tried the shakes as well and although they didn't do much to contribute to weight gain, they do seem to make me hungrier throughout the day, almost like they stoke the furnace of hunger. Funny, I've been eating a lot of Five Guys lately too. A bacon cheeseburger and a regular fry is almost 2,000 calories. Not being able to eat enough really sucks when you live an active lifestyle. The fatigue and fight or flight feeling constantly humming in the background can be brutal. Good luck to you, bro. BTW found your channel from Revival Fitness.
cheaper and healthier alternative to those shakes are protein shakes: put in a blender: 1 banana, 1 scoop of whey protein, 100g of oats, 3 tbsp of peanut butter = 700 kcal
@@emoo.182 Soy protein is perfectly fine. Been vegan myself for over 7 years now, healthy as ever. Many vegan bodybuilders out there, personal favourite TH-camr is Brian Turner - he's a beast and shows the sort of things he eats throughout his day.
Extremely relatable like pretty much everything you said about eating. I’ve been seeing a therapist to help with it for a while but she wants me to see a dietitian. Would love if you did more videos like this.
I was 107lbs. You got this. It's all mental and will take long-term discipline. This is not a weekly challenge. I'm one year into consistently tracking food / eating more than I want / working out 6 days a week and I am now 145lbs. The funny thing is, in the first 5ish months I gained 30lbs from mass gainers. Don't make the mistake I did, and in this video, you are making the mistake, you are overeating. I gained pretty much all fat and had to actually go on a diet to lose it, and I am now 145lbs much leaner than 6 months ago. I'm gaining weight and trying to get to 155 only eating 2.8k calories at 5' 7. Don't have such extreme goals. You'll gain weight at 3,000 calories, and ask yourself how long have you consistently eaten 3,000 calories a day for? You're too focused on the short term, I made all these mistakes trying to gain weight. Be consistent
My advice as someone who went from 225 (november) to 170 (current) and has lots of experience eating (as is evident by me being 225 prior), I now struggle with a restrictive ED and I don't feel the need to eat nearly as often as I used to, so sometimes I will trigger myself to eat or try to sneak in more cals because it's hard for me to even have 1,000 cals a day (my maintenance is 2,100 ish): - higher cal food with less volume. usually more fatty food, carbs, etc. Since it's low volume, you'll want to eat more of it because you won't get full as easy. I struggle with getting full really fast off low cal foods and then that causes me to feel too sick to eat, and this has really helped. ALSO add more butter to things when you cook, oil too. Or just sauces in general as thats free extra cals right there. - I know you said you quit vaping, so I assume you also don't partake in the 'devils lettuce', so my advice is edibles (specifically ones that trigger your hunger, i forgot what strain it is oopsies). I like to pop an edible an hour before I get something to eat because it makes it easier for me to finish it since I'll actually be hungry. I know a lot of people don't vibe well with this idea because they're anti-mary jane; however, I think this purpose is more medicinal than recreational so I highly recommend it. - carry snacks on you, protein bars, etc. it's great to have something on you for when you do get hungry, because I always get hungry and then it goes away really fast bc im not around food, so if youre the same, having something small on you will be a great solution. - get higher cal alternatives to the food you already have (lots of protein options usually have more cals. this can apply to macaroni, pancake mix, and hella other things that exist.) - find foods that you enjoy and that you dont hate eating, and then meal repeat like its nobodys business. I have autism (shocker) and sometimes I find a perfect food that i love to have often, currently its pretzels, and thats how i tend to get my daily cals met because i know i will actually eat it. That's all my advice at the moment, I know some of its pretty obvious but I hope it helps!
“I just can’t wait to not eat” Bro I feel that 😂 People think working out is the hard part. Nah, forcing food down your throat to the point you kinda wanna throw up is.
You always hear about the people who love food and can't imagine life without it, but there are also many of us who would just be happy with taking a pill that meets all of our nutritional needs. A bulking pill would be a dream.
I come from the opposite end of the spectrum previously weighing 280lbs. I couldn't stop eating and the thought that people could eat so little and feel full, always boggled my mind. I can relate to your struggle though very opposing to mine.
The biggest thing that has helped me to go up in weight is smoothies loaded full of calories. I have like 3 tablespoons worth of peanut butter, some other nuts, multiple bananas together with strawberries, blueberries, spinach and olive oil. My rough calorie estimate for it is 1400, but it's probably more. I think it has the same volume as about two of your drinks or about 1 liter, and it tastes great to the point that I crave it most days. I've always been small and my biggest issue was also eating enough to go up in weight. I noticed that after some weeks to maybe a month or two of overeating my body started to need that amount of food. I never used to get hungry, just like you, and recently I was so hungry I was in pain. I've gone up from 69kg to 79kg in 100 days.
I have this problem and you're smart to have discovered this solution! This is what we do for the elderly folks at work to gain weight and my son and I also have the problem where we could just go all day and not eat cause we don't like it. Try ensure if you don't like boost. You can also mix it with milk if it's too thick! Good luck!
Also get sun exposure, I think you already do but don't forget about it, don't wear sunscreen, supplement zinc, magnesium and collagen from grassfed cows as you're definitely defficient in those micronutrients, wake up and go to sleep at reasonable hours and obviously as I said before don't eat GoySlop my goodness. Those things should improve you hormonal balance. Btw, get bloodwork dome tho check hormonal levels and do bloodwork once you implement these measures (if you do...)
maybe you could look into Mass Gainer or caloric dense powder shakes that you can make at home. I used to drink Glucerna and it really gets expensive to drink regularly. I hope you find something that works 🫶🏽also your car looks so clean and dope!
Damn, you're making me realize that I have it easy in this manner: I can eat until I'm almost sick or beyond. I could literally drink 4 or 5 of those high calorie shakes in a row, no problem. I mean, I'm a big person (6'4" and 240 lb at about 24% bodyfat), so maybe my biology or whatever just enjoys eating big ass amounts of food. Probably my single, favorite thing for breakfast is a big bowl of old fashioned (steel rolled) oats with 2 big spoons of peanut butter, a full spoon of cinnamon and about 1 full spoon of honey. It's delicious and helps make me feel great the whole day. Some folks complain that oats make their stomach feel too full or, like a big, solid thing is stuck in their stomach. I like this "full" feeling. It helps me feel better throughout the whole day. Realistically, the oats and a few other things probably helped me gain from 180 (18 years old out of high school) to 240 (over 25 years old). It's insane how I increased from 180 to 240 without doing much. All I did was eat more: 3 or more meals every day, and I ate until I was "full" each time. Also, you're a different person from me (obvious, right?) so you might have preferences towards other foods than PB-honey-cinnamon oats. The last few months, I've eating about 5 eggs, a protein shake, and a whole grain cereal (with a little more protein powder mixed into the cereal) with milk. These three added together are about 100 grams of protein. I eat this before 12pm so I can get on track to eating 200g protein daily. Thats my main goal. I aim for the protein goal first, whole veggies & whole fruits & whole grains second, creatine & water & caffeine third... I track what I eat carefully with an app. I'm also aiming for over 3000 calories daily. Tbh, I haven't gained weight while strength training on Stronglifts 5x5. I've gotten a lot stronger and my aesthetics are improving. My goal is to squat 480 for reps, bench 240 for reps, and deadlift 600 for reps by Aug 2025. That's the two year mark for me. I think it's possible if I'm highly consistent and push myself hard enough. Perhaps I won't achieve deadlifting 600 for reps, but I'll be happy in the high 400s to mid 500s. That would be awesome. There's no way I could look the same as I do now (not bad, but could be better) if I'm deadlifting almost 600 or beyond. 😅 I hope it gets easier for you! Dunno if it will. Maybe there's medicine that makes someone hungrier?! I never heard of medicine like that, but maybe it could help you. For real. I mean this in an honest way. Anyhow, good luck with the fitness programming and lifestyle changes. I really do hope for the best for upu and everyone. I think we're all gonna make it.
I mix in a blender normal milk (3,4g protein), greek yogurt (10g protein), eggs (7g protein), honey. It's 900 calories and 80g protein. You can also add icecream or whip cream works too, if you need more calories.
I've only ever felt what you described when I had COVID and it lasted over a month. Truly wasn't as cool as I thought it would be. Good luck on your fitness goals! Getting enough protein in a day is still a struggle for me, it's so hard to physically eat that much food even with an appetite.
this was really helpful for me to watch because it reminds me that we all have our own goals and "problems" with nutrition. Mine, happens to be what most people's are : weight gain and not loss. So this was therapeutic to watch. Sending support for your goals and hope you can find what works for you and keeps you healthy. 🍔
The only piece of advice I can think of is to try n cook more at home, and cut out "toppings". Things like lettuce are going to take up space for very little to no calories. Instead try getting nuts n legumes in since they are nutritious and can be a good source of calories as snacks/sides respectively. For your greens you want to aim for the ones that have a bit more fat in them and get some fiber in to help with digestion but not too much because then you can get bloated or even constipated. Stay away from potatoes because they are notorious for making you feel full for a long time. I would suggest incorporating avocados, since they are supremely nutritious and a good source of healthy fats (remember, fat is the most calorie dense macro), also get some salmon in if possible every now n then, seared in some oil for huge protein and nutrient gains + added calories from the oil. I'm no nutritionist or professional so anyone pls correct any of my points if im wrong. Hope I was able to help c: Edit: this only really applies if your issue is getting full and just minmaxing calorie for volume. I kinda got that you have appetite issues and you should prob see a doctor if you haven't already to get some professional aid. It's okay to see healthcare professionals when you can c:
My husband has this same problem and what has really helped for him is getting a high calorie mass gainer. He gets a big bag of it and mixes it up with almond milk every morning. Each serving is 1340 calories. It’s the best solution to get his calories in the morning.
As someone with the same problem and same name haha, I have to say it gets much easier. Also, I personally weigh myself like once every two months, because while it can be motivating to see weight gain, it would crush my spirits after not gaining or even losing weight. Eat about 95% of what you realistically can (I overdid it sometimes and would actually injure my stomach somehow) and just ignore the scale. Much love!!
I kind of see my past self in this, so I just can't help but share my approach, as I've gone down the same route before. You're somewhat on the right track. 2700 calories for maintenance sounds about right given the amount of activity you do. Eating around 2900-3100 calories is a reasonable estimate, and going over that would likely result in unnecessary fat gains. This, of course, assumes you stay around 10k steps a day. Your goal should be to aim for an increase of around 0.4 - 0.5 lbs per week; anything more than that isn't beneficial if your aim is to gain muscle and not fat. Just make sure not to rush it and be consistent. Really try to figure out how many calories you need to gain around 0.4 - 0.5 lbs a week, and you'll get there. One more important thing is to find a way to eat that you wouldn't mind doing for the rest of your life; making it sustainable is essential. I often just eat a few slices of bread with peanut butter for breakfast and lunch since that's an easy way to get calories in. You could also buy the cheap soy milk for a dollar or so and get another 400 calories from drinking a liter of that. Doing this in a somewhat healthy way really shouldn't cost much. I only spend about $25 a week to get about 2700 calories a day. Anyway, good luck man. I hope you figure out good eating habits that work well for you without having to go to extremes.
i can’t imagine what it’s like to not be able to eat cause i’m on the opposite end where i am always thinking about food and eating.. both sides are such a struggle
hey, I used to struggle with gaining weight like you do. If you cant afford those protein shakes there is two cheaper alternatives: 1 (cheapest): Buy oats and grind them, add some protein powder or grinded nuts, put them in a shaker with milks 2: Buy instant oats (pretty much oat powder which doesnt clump up in the milk) and some protein powder and mix it in a shaker with milk. So normal oats clump up in the milk and are harder to drink but way cheaper than instant oats. I used to do following shake to hit about 1000kcal in 2mins of drinking time: - 140g of Instant oats - 30g of Protein powder (also for the flavour) - 500g of 3.5% fat milk (the more fat the more calories) This should be alot cheaper than the pre bought shakes but requires some more effort since you got to always prepare the powder. (Btw if you are trying this: Dont try to mix the grinded oats with milk for later, after like 5min its undrinkable, however with the instant oats this shouldnt happen) I also struggled with apetite / no hunger but if you keep habits of eating on a regular schedule (always at the same time) your body will adjust to it and demand the calories at that time -> you get hungry. So its pretty much about being consistent. I would suggest that you always eat at the same time and start with some calorie-count that you can maintain EVERY single day. and then up it by 50-100kcal every week. another bonus to the shake described above is you can pretty much start with a lower amount of it and then up it every week, increasing your calorie intake every week therefore. Hope this helps, anyway good video!
The plateau in weight at the end is normal. It usually takes months to gain weight in muscle (about a 1-3 months per 5 pounds of muscle from my experience). If you can sustain a surplus like this, you will definitely see results. Muscle building is a longform activity, so one needs to think on a longer scale. "Could you do this routine forever?" is a good question to ask yourself when it comes to this, because that way you will know if you can sustain it consistently in order to reach your goals. Its really inspiring to see this sort of video coming from you. I remember back when I was a kid, before I started bodybuilding, watching some of your videos on reptiles. The variety and evolution on this channel here is really cool. Good luck.
If you like the shakes, it wouldn't hurt to extend the experiment for a month or two and see what happens. A week is a fairly small sample size, especially when it comes to weight change.
I am skinny & low energy person with a struggle to feel hungry too. But like VERY, a literal stick that can sleep 16+ hours a day (also no muscle in sight bc I am afab). I'm capable of feats if I need something to get done, but then I just shut down. This vidya made me wanna try some liquid shakes. I honestly would like to look lile you right now, if I was to ever transision.
A very bro science way of explaining it is your body is constantly in survival mode. Somewhere in the beginning you made a habit of not eating. Your bodies response was to produce more leptin (hormone that regulates satiation) and/or suppress ghrelin (hormone that tells you you’re hungry). The odd thing you’re experiencing is you forcing calories and your body responding by regulating the hunger hormones. So it’s going to seem like the more you eat the hungrier you get because your metabolism is kicking on. I’m the same way but I will say not as bad. Usually I under eat for a few days because I’m not hungry in the moment and accrue a hunger debt that 4th day roughly and eat a normal amount or even more. The thing is if you’re like me you’ll slip into the habit of not eating and your body will be quick to put you back in survival mode
I can really see a difference. You're doing great! Maybe add in some vegies? Do you like vegies? You should keep the high calorie shakes on hand, because you can enjoy food without the stress, and if you can eat with enjoyment more often, you'll eat more.
i’ve been relying on protein shakes since realizing I need a gram per lb of weight and I won’t lie, the idea of all my meals being liquified literally relaxes me to the point of sleep
I dunno about yall, but I've been hearing pasta's a champion at getting people extra weight almost all my life... If you haven't already maybe try a Mediterranean diet and go heavy on pastas... also 14 days is quite a short testing time when it comes to diets I think... I also can't eat consistently but I think it's about eating when you're interested, we all different. Maybe you're overhydrating so it quells the hunger?
white rice,, mince beef (the cheap stuff, full fat) and scrambled eggs. mix it all up and it's real easy to get alot of calories down. very anabolic nutrient profile too.
You should look into carb powder you can add it to your regular protein shakes to boost the calories of them without having to compromise the protein consumption
I'm new here but please don't get discouraged... this will take time to figure out a way to meet your goals... even take marginal progress for what it is, PROGRESS!! I wish you all the luck on your journey and thanks for sharing with us
Just drink a gallon or 1/2 gallon of whole milk and supplement it with a high protein diet. It's much easier to maintain and cheaper than drinking meal replacement shakes. Stay away from soda and empty calories, just drink milk and eat whole foods (e.g. chicken breast, steak, eggs, vegetables).
Adding butter to your meals is an easy way to add 100 calories for a tablespoon. Fat in general is the most energy dense type of food you can consume. It’s more efficient but also kills your hunger faster
I'd go for something more like one pound weight gain per week, just adjust your calorie intake in tiny amounts if you're not quite on track for a pound per week. Just imagine, you'll be at 170 in a year!
This came at such a good time! I’m 5’7” and 112 pounds - always been underweight, always had a fast metabolism no matter what I do! I love these protein shakes because it’s so hard for me to eat solid calories.
As someone that has been overweight and has had to really work hard not to constatnlt put food in my mouth, I just can't relate. But I'm also prediabetic and before that, I probably had some blood sugar fluctuations before. I used to always think about food. I was constantly thinking about eating and what I'd eat next. But the biggeat thing that helped was limiting pure unrefined sugar and carbs. I don't avoid it all together but definitely limit it to special occasions. Bodies are weird and different.
I feel like I can see a difference in your body and stature! Also your voice has changed slightly along with your confidence. You’re talking with more energy
Have you looked into appetite boosting drugs ? Have you tried doing intensive cardio like maybe sprinting around for a certain amount of time? You should also try eating something sweet that you enjoy before you have a meal like having a sip of soda have you tried incorporating sweets that you enjoy eating Sugar increases appetite .
That is the thing. I notice fat people love food, and skinny hate food. Stop counting earned calories like money. Start enjoying food. Eaten food is not digested food. Fat people start enjoying travelling, adventures, movement, sport. Try fishing and eat what you catch, and you will be skinny. Stop counting calories burned, enjoy the journey and exploration. Enjoy your body moving, and enjoy food, love people. Sleep good, breath deeply.
@@antevadas3840 i am pretty skinny 6 foot 1 here but only 135 pounds, i like the taste of food and like to eat when its mealtime when i feel hungry, but when im not hungry eating is kind of a chore, im bulking rn trying to add muscle
It is crazy to me (someone who struggles eating too much food) to hear someone talk about having to physically and mentally force themself to eat/eat more. I constantly struggle to stop myself from eating and I constantly deal with "food noise". I've lost like ~26 pounds (still have more too go) and cannot imagine having to work at gaining weight.
"I can't wait to not eat" speaks to me on an emotional level xD I would prefer drink my meals for the rest of my life but its just not efficient. I make a bangin' protein smoothie now though, which is perfect to replace just my lunch.
So much of this stuff is just your diet. I lost my gains and am trying to get them back but i never get enough protein. I remember one week a few years ago i got a good protein intake and my weighted pullups went from 65lbs for 5 reps to 70 for 5 within just a week, which for me was a big deal because i was stagnant
damn, I wish ny problem was weight gain with my appetite. I'm 1.58m (I think that's around 5'2") and weight ~100/105kg, and my sister is the opposite, being 1.50m and weighing 45kg. She hates eating a lot of the times, she started going to the gym and she got abs so fast, but still wouldn't eat, and I started going to the gym too and lost 7kg in about two months, but neither of us could mantain because of E.Ds we always fall back to our terrible habits. But that's something both of us want to surpass, the struggle with bad habits and gaining/losing weight. Also, even though she doesn't like to eat much, and I really like to eat, both of us can eat the same exact thing basically forever and never get sick of (unless suddenly texture sucks and we have to change it, but never because of taste), so we also aren't beating the 'tism allegations lol
I have never related to a video more in my life. I actually was referred to an ED clinic from my doctor despite insisting "i just dont get hungry." I stopped going after a few sessions as it felt...redundant? The only body issues i have is with being too thin not the opposite, and somehow i was being made to think that my not eating was a subconscious decision. Like no. I dont feel hunger, I only feel like ima pass out in the evening after realising i havent made time to eat again 💀
I had luck with Animal Protein and Premier Protein shakes for quick on the go. I used 2 scoops instead of one, which means 220 calories and 40grams of protein just in the Animal shake. when you factor in the milk and collagen that I added, it was almost 50 grams of protein in just one serving. I am getting back into lifting after having cancer last year and losing pretty much all my muscle mass, and I've seen great results.
Not really worth trying to invent a bycicle imo. There are a lot of good guides around on how to hit caloric goals and maintain correct macros for those who struggle. Also I might be wrong but I kinda doubt that you are hitting 3k calories a day and not gaining weight, unless you have absolutely crazy metabolite. Food labels usually aren't very accurate , same with eyeballing meals.
started going to the gym with a co worker and he was super skinny and has a fast metabolism, he has to consume around 3-4k calories just to maintain. he dirty bulks and literally eats wendy's and mcdonalds everyday but it must be working because his muscles are getting massive lmao! dont think its healthy but he grew insane muscles between that and gym 5-6 days a week. he hates it though because if he misses any meal or his protein shake he will lose weight so quickly, his shake is almost 1k calories alone
It's so fascinating to see the opposite body type. I'm like 5'10 and have always been a Hungry Boy... I track steps and calories and getting 10k steps per day, weighing all of my food.. 2,000 calories flat any more and I gain weight pretty instantly. RIP both of us I guess

I have this problem. Just can't eat. People saying just eat have no idea.
I can eat, but after a while (some days or weeks) i just start to eat less again.
and even before that, i dont really gain much weight, i go from 62 to 65kg, even as I eat as much as fat overweight people I know. However I dont eat as much bread.
Seriously 😅 eating food causes me 7/10 stabbing pain. There is no picking up a fork here 😅

Of course you can't eat all the food / water they give us is all poison you think it's a coincidence that everyone has some kind of health related issue??? It's the food and water and it's no accident it's all by design. You can't live in this devil run earth without some kind of ailment either physically mentally or financially and like I said it's no fkgn accident.
you will never beat the allegations
I enjoyed hearing your story with struggling to gain weight. I've had the same issue for the past 6 years, I managed to gain 20 pounds in my first year of trying to gain weight but since then I just can't seem to put on anymore. Watching this video has made me feel less alone in the situation so thank you!
As an autistic person who struggles to eat. Boost has kept me alive with some form of nutrients 😂 bless them

"Back in my day, he would make content about reptiles, but this is almost as good"
-My grandpa and me
Honestly, I like this stuff just as much. Feels a little more real and his life is pretty relatable to mine.
I had the smas surgery n it helped soo much. It took about a year for the weight to start coming back. I still have pain n the occasional vomittin.
Congratulations on your channel.
thank you :D pls don't hesitate to throw out any tips if any ever come to mind, whether it be fitness or food
The only one i like is the chocolate extra protein one, but i couldn't imagine only having that. Youre a mad man. Respect
i feel u on the not eating thing, its so hard remembering that i have to eat to keep myself going and can't just live off of good vibes lol. i always end up forgetting i havent eaten till the evening, or the house only has ingredients/foods i dont like and not eat anything. personally, i like to make sure comfort foods are always in the house. even if its a snack or light meal, its better than nothing. and i like to find out what "real foods" are good for me and try them in different forms! basically, treat my comfort foods like potatoes or eggs and eat them in as many diff ways to branch out into other foods. this might be a lil harder with sensory issues but its def possible. im loving the evolution of this channel, can't wait to see even more progress!!
the high calorie boost just has 20g extra added canola oil. holy moly mega zogsloppa
HELL YEAH
i wonder if that means i could just make my own for cheaper
@@GoHerping i think u should definately make your own. its cheaper And healthier
@@GoHerping i dont think you should consume canola oil like a complete retard
@GoHerping I'm not sure what genetics has in the cards for you. Look at your parents, your Aunts, Uncles etc and see what they look like, life will catch up at some point. Your metabolism will slow down the older you get. You could always ask a dr to do blood work since you're already dropping a pound. Although, like you said, it could be water weight. Stick to a shake or 2 a day for nutritional purposes, especially if you are not taking supplements but keep eating. The busy like is good but one day you'll slow down with your slower than usual metabolism and boom the weight will collect with no problem.
I could never. Good luck on working towards your goals. I am wishing you the best
Loved this video, would love to see one about your personal experience with eating difficulty and your other video ideas. I've only had a few periods where eating was a similar difficulty to what you described and it was so so difficult, glad youre cooking up a strategy thats working for you.
thanks! yeah, i think i'll keep the theme going this year, mixed in with some other content
-TLDR I'm not hating, I'm just saying that it seems like you might just be a bit lazy and if that suits your lifestyle so be it.
hey man, im the heaviest I've ever been i went from a max of 115 soaking wet to 160 out of nowhere. which is very healthy for my Hight. started working out and now im converting that weight to muscles now. use to be like you where i could eat and eat and still have no weight change.
i wish you luck man!
that's epic
I was smiling the entire video. So proud and happy for you Alex. Love seeing you accomplish your goals and create a healthier relationship with food.
thank you :D
That kitten part was the best 😭
If you like the convenience of the shakes but the cost is too much I’d suggest either making your own mass gainer (pretty simply. Can blend oats, pb, protein powder, etc put it in a container and pour a glass throughout the week) or nuts. Especially nuts during your Amazon shifts. They are super dense in calories and quite nutritious. Pretty easy to mindlessly snack on them in my opinion as well. Eating a handful every hour or so during a shift could easily lead to ≈1000 calories
Keep in mind that you probably gained a lot of water weight from the shakes, so while the number of the scale went up, you most likely only gained a couple real pounds (hence why it started dropping again so quickly, you started losing the water weight)
I struggle with the same issue, and I've done (and sometimes still do) exactly what you did in this video with the shakes.
TLDR
KEEP EATING, DON'T LET THE SCALE FOOL YOU.
I’m glad you’re posting your journey! I have the same problem. I tried the high cal shakes but they made me so nauseated. Best of luck to you!
Good luck Goherp rooting for you!
thanks!
💛💪🌺good luck and stay healthy my friend
your body has just found a way to make your current lifestyle its new norm meaning it not going through as much energy like it did when it had an excess of it. you will ALWAYS plateau but that NOT a bad thing. you just have to find a way to knock your body out of equilibrium to get it to use those calories more. that can be done through more rigorous or longer exercise. i will never say to lower food more as that should be done with the help of a health professional. if you go to try and maintain weight that will be the hardest adjustment as thats when u want the body to plateau
imo just bump ur calories higher for 2-3 weeks like 3k a day and then go back to calorie cut, might break out the platuea
Wow great advice!! I've been stuck at 122 lbs for years. Doesn't matter what or how much I eat. But this sounds like it could work. Thank you so much.
No way ur eating 1500 cals a day and losing no weight. That goes against the laws of physics
Some olive oil for extra calories
yes minus the oats tho and he needs grass fed whey protien, that soy shit aint good for you
No added vitamins though
You get nutrients from whey :)
My advice as someone who went from 225 (november) to 170 (current) and has lots of experience eating (as is evident by me being 225 prior), I now struggle with a restrictive ED and I don't feel the need to eat nearly as often as I used to, so sometimes I will trigger myself to eat or try to sneak in more cals because it's hard for me to even have 1,000 cals a day (my maintenance is 2,100 ish):
- higher cal food with less volume. usually more fatty food, carbs, etc.
- get higher cal alternatives to the food you already have (lots of protein options usually have more cals. this can apply to macaroni, pancake mix, and hella other things that exist.)
- find foods that you enjoy and that you dont hate eating, and then meal repeat like its nobodys business. I have autism (shocker) and sometimes I find a perfect food that i love to have often, currently its pretzels, and thats how i tend to get my daily cals met because i know i will actually eat it.
That's all my advice at the moment, I know some of its pretty obvious but I hope it helps!
“I just can’t wait to not eat”
Bro I feel that 😂 People think working out is the hard part. Nah, forcing food down your throat to the point you kinda wanna throw up is.
yeeeep
You always hear about the people who love food and can't imagine life without it, but there are also many of us who would just be happy with taking a pill that meets all of our nutritional needs. A bulking pill would be a dream.
I come from the opposite end of the spectrum previously weighing 280lbs. I couldn't stop eating and the thought that people could eat so little and feel full, always boggled my mind. I can relate to your struggle though very opposing to mine.
Just watching the content creator develop in life is crazy.
Your videos always put me in a happy mood🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂😊😊😊
I just came back to this channel after a year or two. whoah, everything has changed !
Good luck!
Peanut butter, seeds, olive oil.. all extremely calorie dense and will add on the pounds. Also, whole milk
I hope it gets easier for you!
Going on a caloric surplus is good and all but make sure you keep your bulk healthy 🫡
I've never been so unable to relate to someone on something lmao. My natural desire is to feast every meal.
fork until failure is hilarious
this was really helpful for me to watch because it reminds me that we all have our own goals and "problems" with nutrition. Mine, happens to be what most people's are : weight gain and not loss. So this was therapeutic to watch. Sending support for your goals and hope you can find what works for you and keeps you healthy. 🍔
thanks!
Careful with just thinking about calories, keep nutrients and vitamins in mind as well.
Hope I was able to help c:
Edit: this only really applies if your issue is getting full and just minmaxing calorie for volume. I kinda got that you have appetite issues and you should prob see a doctor if you haven't already to get some professional aid. It's okay to see healthcare professionals when you can c:
Seeing you so excited to get that Chipotle made me happy lol
Gotta be honest, i love the sound of birds in rhe background please never change where you do your voice recordings.
i can’t imagine what it’s like to not be able to eat cause i’m on the opposite end where i am always thinking about food and eating.. both sides are such a struggle
just constant dread, knowing i have to eat for the rest of my life lmao
hey, I used to struggle with gaining weight like you do. If you cant afford those protein shakes there is two cheaper alternatives:
1 (cheapest): Buy oats and grind them, add some protein powder or grinded nuts, put them in a shaker with milks
2: Buy instant oats (pretty much oat powder which doesnt clump up in the milk) and some protein powder and mix it in a shaker with milk.
So normal oats clump up in the milk and are harder to drink but way cheaper than instant oats.
I used to do following shake to hit about 1000kcal in 2mins of drinking time:
- 140g of Instant oats
- 30g of Protein powder (also for the flavour)
- 500g of 3.5% fat milk (the more fat the more calories)
This should be alot cheaper than the pre bought shakes but requires some more effort since you got to always prepare the powder.
(Btw if you are trying this: Dont try to mix the grinded oats with milk for later, after like 5min its undrinkable, however with the instant oats this shouldnt happen)
I also struggled with apetite / no hunger but if you keep habits of eating on a regular schedule (always at the same time) your body will adjust to it and demand the calories at that time -> you get hungry.
6:56, The bulk has started 🔥
I can really see a difference. You're doing great! Maybe add in some vegies? Do you like vegies? You should keep the high calorie shakes on hand, because you can enjoy food without the stress, and if you can eat with enjoyment more often, you'll eat more.
i’ve been relying on protein shakes since realizing I need a gram per lb of weight
and I won’t lie, the idea of all my meals being liquified literally relaxes me to the point of sleep
Maybe you're overhydrating so it quells the hunger?
it's normal to suddenly be heavier or lighter. It depends on water retention and if you went to the bathroom.
white rice,, mince beef (the cheap stuff, full fat) and scrambled eggs. mix it all up and it's real easy to get alot of calories down. very anabolic nutrient profile too.
You should look into carb powder you can add it to your regular protein shakes to boost the calories of them without having to compromise the protein consumption
I'm new here but please don't get discouraged... this will take time to figure out a way to meet your goals... even take marginal progress for what it is, PROGRESS!! I wish you all the luck on your journey and thanks for sharing with us
thanks!
It’s more efficient but also kills your hunger faster
olive oil as well
Mass gainer could be your best friend! Also homemade high protein calorie dense shakes could help you increase the rate of weight gain. 🤷🏻
I'd go for something more like one pound weight gain per week, just adjust your calorie intake in tiny amounts if you're not quite on track for a pound per week. Just imagine, you'll be at 170 in a year!
Bro your pushup form is amazing
ty lol
I used to mix the chocolate ones half and half with milk to make them less thick, because they were way too thick for me haha
MY GOD I wish I could say I hate food😭😭😭😭
Don't give up man keep eating and training!
When i lost my appetite, i started to drink meal replacement drinks and it did help me get back to more solid foods and not to feel nauseous
damn, I wish ny problem was weight gain with my appetite.
I actually was referred to an ED clinic from my doctor despite insisting "i just dont get hungry."
I stopped going after a few sessions as it felt...redundant?
I just drink a shit ton of chocolate milk, sometimes with protein powder in it. Really helped through my bulk
