A mighty fine mini-series of 47s doing what they did/do best, sir.
Watching compilations like this in 2022, it's hard to imagine them as Duffs at all. Yes, they were everywhere and were by far the most numerous of BR's mainline diesels (512 were built in total, but the most that existed for any appreciable length of time was 508) that too often appeared in place of more ratable traction for some people's liking, but putting that to one side, they were/are clean/non-fussy aesthetically, sounded pretty darn good (that big Sulzer rasp) and clagged like it was going out of fashion when the power handle was notched up (even more so than the Peaks oddly, even though the same basic Sulzer engine was shared between all 4 classes with tweaks/upgrades between them; perhaps it was that exhaust port lol).
TL; DR - they were/are darned fine 'bread-and-butter' machines (this from a self-confessed English Electric fanboy lol) that got way too much stick.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed, yes I appreciate all of the old 50s/60s built classics up to the 1976 build grids as you can see from my channel . Modern stuff has zero interest for me as they are just so heavily silenced .

As one loco got the road via the ground position light, the next loco has moved up to it, waiting for it to clear for them once the leading loco has cleared the section ahead .
