Wow this was so informative! Being a licensed cosmetologist I want to be able to do everything I possibly can and I’ve been trying to figure out a name for myself whether I rent or have a business in the future and this was great because I thought “I want to have something unique no one has” I guess that’s what trademark is for right? Aimee mamer yes. Travelers insurance will insure your salon for lashes and NACAMS will do you individually for lashes. Hope this helps. 💕
I was just checking trademarks and saw that for some of them it says DEAD. Does that mean that that certain trademark expired and someone else can use it?

Finding a name for business is very difficult I change my business name more than 5times all beacause I wanted a unique name finally I came with this idea i made my brand name keeybeauty then under keeybeauty I have keey lashes and keeyhairxglami do have a September account for hair together with makeup and lashes . please livbay what’s your opinion about my business name am I good to go?

Hey guys thank you so much for this video I literally just got my certifications for classic and lash lift and volume coming soon starting off my journey from home but listening to this made me pause because I had a business name in mind but I’m not ready to start investing in getting a attorney to trademark my business name I wanted to know if I could start getting clients without a business name for a limited time an if so how would you recommend I go about it?

If one is just trying to lash from home to make some income to pay bills and stuff and is not making products or selling anything besides the lash extensions services, would I still have to trademark my lash buisness name?
It’s up to you! You may run into issues if someone else is using the same name but depending on how big you want your company to grow I would base your decision off of that 💖
So if I filed with the state and it’s available on the USPTO site do I have to file for it anywhere else other than the state?

Does the name search go by state? Or is it nationwide? Like say someone has XYZ Lashes in Washington State, and someone else has XYZ Lashes in Florida, can the person who had the name first sue over that?
rach h when you search it’ll show the names in each state. And if the person who had the trademarked name first wants to sue they could. If it’s not trademarked and you both have the same name then no. So I would look up your business name and trademark if you can ❤️
@@LivBayLash If the name (or part of the name) is taken, but is a different kind of business, like say a toy business has a similar name to a lash business, does that pose an issue?
rach h it can but more than likely won’t because it’s a different business field, but you never can be too safe so if you are able to trademark your name I would 💕

How do we go about trademarking our name?
rach h I would first start by looking up your business name on the USPTO website and see if your name is available for trademarking and then go from there. The USPTO website has tons of information for you. Then you can fill out the paperwork right on the website. I would still recommend consulting an attorney for help. 💕
