I take an honest, unbiased look at the new Velma show that people can't stop talking about. Also, take a look at my second channel: SteakNBaconInc at: / @steaknbaconinc6725 where we upload sometimes
I think people actually like this show but it's the TH-cam punching bag and everyone wants to join in. If you actually watch some of the episode "reviews" they are basically just criticizing every little tiny thing that happens in the episode to the point that you have to wonder why are they watching in so much detail 5 episodes in if they don't like the show?. Like yeah.... Most of the jokes aren't funny and the glorifying of sexual interest amongst high schoolers is odd but the mystery is quite interesting.
8:45 - That's the point. It's so badly written that they needed to paste an existing IP over top of it, because they knew the show wouldn't survive without it. The second season is already in the can. They made twenty episodes, and released half at a time so they could say they got a second season.
with the way ppl are acting about scooby doo i like to imagine hbo bringing back the pjs but woke so i can see a bunch of people pretending they ever cared abou the original show
"MadMatty, what's the youtube algorithm's favorite flavor of Velma?" "Chocolate." Bringing back Red Herring, as an Amerindian, was in bad taste. I do hope that the algorithm convinces all of those channels to officially join the animation commentary community, and can never shake off the drama that comes with it. The most recent one was a clique taking revenge on someone, by trying to get that person's audience to pressure him into divorcing his wife.
The reason folks are mad and giving their opinion on it just like you are doing is because folks are tired of these studios using past tv shows, movies, games, etc. and drastically changing them so they can push what ever agenda or nonsense they want. they could have easily done a show with their own characters instead of using Scoby-Doo.
The problem is Scooby-Doo is like a childhood friend to a lot of people... what if you ran into your childhood friend years later after he was kidnapped by someone, raped, turned into a Crack addict, and made into an entirely different person? Would you still like them? The fact that the characters were one dimensional doesn't really matter, Scooby-Doo is a children's show for like 10 year Olds. They could have just renamed all the characters in Velma, and nobody would have any idea it has anything to do with Scooby-Doo, and it would still be bad, but not as disrespectful to a lot of peoples childhoods. All that said, it'll be forgotten in a month.

Honestly, the manufactured outrage reminds me of all those AVGN ripoffs.

I think I was just expecting a lot worse.
@@exiledPostman: I don’t see that it could be much worse. It’s not even just a bad reboot/remake of Scooby-Doo. It’s a bad show in and of itself.
5:25 Bleg, I always hated whenever anyone basically does this, especially for cartoons; it's so scumy.
I love your very descriptive review and rant that accurately cites examples and observations.

You know, I have to admit: A Pup Named Scooby-Doo kicked ass.
@@exiledPostman If Velma has a guest appearance, by the Harlem Globetrotters, I'll watch it.
holy shit madmatty reactsona

I watched it and it is as bad as everyone's saying.
What was it that made you want to watch it?
@@exiledPostman I was a Scooby-Doo fan as a kid
