Winter Carp Fishing - Cold-Water Tactics

I head to Damsel Lake on the Manor Farm complex for a 24-hr session as I try and catch a big winter carp. It is my first time visiting the venue and it is freezing cold, so it won't be easy!

Great effort for a winter 24 hr session paid off with a hatful of carp. Not fished Damsel yet. Done Booneys and Becks. Damsel next for me. Looks great even in winter

I pack in the fishing in the winter, as much is it makes me sound like a fair weather angler I don’t care. I get all down and start to hate fishing when I’m out in the freezing cold rain not catching, plus I like the feeling of missing it in winter and the excitement for the spring

I’ve been the same for the past few winters but I’m going to go for it this winter! With how mild they have been the past few years and how many tackle items we have designed to keep us warm when fishing, I think it’s a great time to be out nowadays

Shelf life - modern mixes are so good nowadays that there is very little difference between shelf life and freezer so I go for shelf life for the convenience 👍

@@drewsams0n not at all, I still use it loads, but I've found in winter (based on the CYP experience) that when fishing for slow-moving carp that having the subtle section when fishing with snowman/wafters/bottom baits, hooking capabilities are greatly improved. The Slip Ronnie can be a bit heavy in winter when fishing with those hook baits but for 80% of the time it is still the rig I use

Yep, loads of fish in there and a high stock of smaller ones, but as I said in the video, there's a good head of 30lb commons that I was targeting. Wouldn't call them pasties, especially in the winter!
