This sure brings back memories of that area. The wallpaper was brighter than the weather. I had holidays as a child in Cleethorpes during the 1970s. My grandmother lived there. She was a carer for a disabled man on Taylor's Avenue
thank you for putting this on here, seeing my mum as bridesmaid at steve and pams wedding, and a very fleeting shot of my grandad who clearly did not want to be filmed. lovely memories...
The house that they keep going in & out of on 16/18 minutes is in Eleanor St. ,Cavendish St is the street opposite the house. At 19:45 minutes the bus is turning right into Convamore RD heading towards Pasture St & Ladysmith Rd.
Love stuff like this. Just curious as to where the residential shots where; the road sign looks like it says Cavendish Street. If this is so I guess its an area of town that no longer exists, which makes this footage even more special.
Hi Rebekah, I've just realised who you are - I remember you as a little girl at my grandparents. I've had a look through all the files and there are several of your grandparents, mum and you as a little girl. I'll edit them together and upload as soon as I get chance. Best wishes, Keith.
We are putting together a community project, looking at the history of events in Cleethorpes and we plan to use some of your grandfather's footage in the project. Please contact us if you have any objections: alex@hammondhouse.org.uk
This is a really cool document to have isn't it? Priceless really. I love the look of these old films, great that you're sharing them with us!
