I always felt like this bag looked like a very bougie beach bag. I can definitely see myself putting my towel and sunscreen in and carrying it to the beach should I ever get invited to a beach day with the Queen.

You make amazing points! Something I have struggled with (primarily with the blue oblique print like that one) is that it gets easily dirty/over time begins to turn into a darker color from dirt and time :/ it’s what made me stop going for the classic oblique unless it was all black

I got the samorga organizer with compartments and a zip, and i love it! I take this on planes as it fits underneath the seat in front of me, and i dont have to carry the weight of it as it sits on my carry on throughout the airport. i also use this for long car trips/weekend trips, as i keep it on my passenger seat so i know i have all my important things (laptop, water, wallet, important docs, meds, etc) with me and dont have to get out of my car to go digging round the back seats/trunk to get stuff!

I have 2 kiddos and this bag is large enough for all our stuff. My friend from church loved it and brought one that same week. Very spacious and so many compartments.

The Chanel Deauville is also a great alternative to the book tote, it has lots of internal pockets and longer straps for over the shoulder! They've also added leather to the shoulder straps now so the chain doesn't dig in!

For the longest time I’ve fought myself not to buy this bag because its just not practical for me. It was realllyyyy hard to ignore instagram feeds at that time. But I’m glad I stay strong. It still looks absolutely amazing on you Cassie.

However I completely agree with all of your points and therefore it’s something you really need to weigh up if it is going to suit what you want to use it for or if there is a better option 🤷🏼♀️ Mine doesn’t have any wear and tear and still looks brand new because I don’t use it on an “daily basis” it’s there for a “when I need it” type of bag and I love it 💙

That Dior is simply gorgeous. Stunning. I have the ONTHEGO and Rive Gauche. Both are great, but that Dior is gorge!
I recently bought the Fendi Sunshine Medium shopper tote. It’s a similar size to the smaller Dior book tote and similar price but all leather and comes with a shoulder strap as well. Loving it

Thank you for the detailed look! I have been waiting for Miss Maria to grace us with a longer strap and a bag closure for the Book Tote for ages now, but no such luck. Until recently, I had planned to buy this in spring (when I can hopefully use it), but now I'm seriously looking at the On the Go instead. If I can find a color combination that I like, I'll most likely order it. I saw an upcoming beige/ purple (?) print a few days ago and it looked beautiful.

I have the already have the Dior book tote in the blue toile de jouy in a small and My boyfriend gifted my the mini in the blue toile de jouy and I got use the crossbody strap I got for my saddle bag and it works so well with the mini. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I’ve always liked the look of this bag, but for the reasons you stated I don’t love it. Not sure if you like it or not, but the Marc Jacobs tote is amazing. It has a great strap that is detachable and also has a zipper. Plus it’s also canvas and the inside is wipeable. I have it and the two times I have worn it out, it was so light.
I like the look too but it just depends what you want to use it for 💕

My heart skipped a beat when I saw the title of this video! I just repurchased the Dior book tote ... but in the small size .. lol .. I bought mine brand new exactly a year ago, but sold her a few months down the road (felt she wasn’t for me) but have been seriously eyeing her again since august .. so I went ahead and got myself another one but preloved today .. lol was filled with sellers regret! I bought the Coach version of that bag and haven’t used it yet. It is huge, but it has a large clutch and also a thick strap for shoulder or crossbody. Couldn’t carry it handheld.

Cassie love all your videos, big fan! I have 3 book totes in my collection and while some of your points are valid, Dior book totes look delicate but are deceptively hard wearing. My reverse toile de jouy tote - I’ve used to buy groceries and even used as a moving bag when we moved apartments - the handle is still clean, intact and the bag is in excellent condition, but I do understand with the original size, it’s not for everyone!

i love my dior book tote and i bought a zoomoni organiser with zipper to carry the bag. although it’s fabric but i feel sometimes fabrics are easier than leather because leather can get mould😅easily in humid environments. that’s just my thought😊and the bag is very easy to grab and go and put stuff in.

It’s a shopping tote bag, lightweight to carry your essentials such as your phone, keys and purse for when you’re going on a spree and will be carrying other shopping bags.
It’s easy access to the essentials, I use mine if I’m at the shopping centre/mall not for any other reason.
Everything you’ve just said is 100% right regarding the Christian Dior book tote I have one because of all the reasons above I then had to go and buy the Gucci off the Grid tote. And now I only use my Book tots as Beach bag.

I am torn between CD book tote and LV onthego (prefer the latter a bit more) but Do you think the LV onthego would be a good beach bag if thats the only one you take while travelling? If yes would it be the coated canvas or the leather one that you would suggest (its hard to get hands on the coated canvas one)
Yes I think it’s a more durable option than the book tote and I would keep trying for the coated canvas - you could run that bag over and it would look the same after 😂💖

There are felt inserts with zipped lid that help with retaining shape, protecting against spills and messes and prevents anyone from reaching into the bag for your valuables

I've always wanted to get the same Dior book tote for travel flex. I was underwhelmed by the smaller version because for me it's "go big or go home." Because it's untreated canvas, I'm a bit nervous about it getting dirty. I actually have a similar-sized synthetic shopper tote that I got for free from my purchase at a beauty supply store. It has longer handles and a snap button for closure - I use it so much to just throw my handbag in, and other items to keep in my car and bring into the office. If Dior added a snap button and longer handles so you can wear it over your shoulder, I would buy it. Usually, if brands hear this feedback long enough, they will make changes. Hopefully, Dior sees this (and sponsors CA$$IE) lol.

Hello,I have the tote,only used it twice,I bought it for road trips we have to go on for husbands work.I put it behind his seat,put an organizer in,from Amazon. I just can't bring myself to pay 40-50.00 for one.I pack cold drinks in a insulated lunch tote stays cold enough,insulated cups,medication, fruit,snacks,and some chocolate. I just reach and get it.Have to remember I am almost 5'8" and long arms lol.I'll let you know how it wears,I think it will hold up pretty well,when we get to the hotel I just take everything out pull organizer and leave on vanity.Thank you for this video,I have worried abt same issues, happy new year. 💓

I've always thought of that specific Dior Book Tote as a beach bag--I know it's not, but there's something about the material and print. In general, I don't gravitate towards tote bags for all the reasons you mentioned. Even if they closed and etc, they are just way too big and heavy for me. I actually prefer a backpack if I have to carry loads of things, just for the comfort and practicality.
