Hi Briggs, I love your videos, I'm Hector from Ecuador and I was wondering if there will be a video on the best festivals by state. It would be interesting to know what to visit for a tourist outside the United States!!
Admittedly, its been years since I've been their, and currently its in the news for the wrong reason, but the times I've been to Whitesburg Kentucky I always felt like it was a nice little town. I also thought it was Pretty. Now Williamstown Kentucky isn't as Pretty as Whiteburg but its not a bad place to live. While I don't know much about it I stopped to eat once in La'Follete Tennessee and thought it was very Pretty countryside and for some reason that I can't figure out I got the impression that it was Peaceful as well. Don't know if its really that way or if I was just enamored with the Countryside.
My Wife and i just came back from our Wyoming Vacation and there are two small Towns that we fell in Love with. Wheatland and Worland. Wyoming is amazingly beautiful!!
Worland is nice because it's the least windy city in Wyoming. Yes it can get very windy ahead of a storm or as the seasons change but it's far from constant. Most towns here can wear you out with their constant wind including Cody.
This video stirred something deep within me. There’s something truly magical about small towns, isn’t there? They each have their own story, a heartbeat that can only be felt by those who visit. As you were talking about places like Fair Hope and Eureka Springs, I couldn’t help but wonder - what’s it really like to live there, to wake up every day surrounded by such beauty and history? Does it feel like time slows down, or do you still feel the rush of life? I feel like these places could change you forever.
I almost fell out of my chair!!! Briggs just said Connecticut beautiful!!! 😂😂 Well sir I give you credit, it must have been difficult to give CT a good word 😂. Love your channel, I’ve been following since a long time, it’s truly enjoyable!
Briggs, another state-of-the art mini documentary from you. I cannot get enough of this topic. Please keep doing them and have it as current as you can. Fabulously done!
Illinoisian here. Having been to practically every town in this state, I'm going to assume that Galena is your pic for Illinois. It's literally the only town I can think of with practically zero crime. Edit: Nailed it!😆
I like Briggs, he's been everywhere(including small cities and towns) and seems to know everything. I'm impressed, I always learn something when I watch his videos. 👍
The wife and I went to Leavenworth this past weekend and have been several times. It's about an hour and a half away from us on the other side of the Cascades straight down Hwy 2. Beautiful drive.
Colorado has lots of nice small towns. Glenwood Springs, Steamboat Springs, and Carbondale are three more that come quickly to mind. I wouldn’t have thought of Paonia, but that’s a nice pick. Reminds me of Iowa, but better scenery.
My apologies if someone else has already mentioned it, but Blowing Rock, NC was heavily damaged this past weekend by the remnants of Hurricane Helene and may not be the destination it was during the survey as it struggles to return to normal. It's going to take weeks if not months to assess all the destruction inflicted on residential homes and businesses there.
Great list Briggs! Not one match for what I'd consider the best small town in several states. This way, my secret cool small towns stay secret. Love that! Haha. Seriously...lots of work here...great job!!
Can you do a video about the best villages in each state? Also I would love if you would do more international videos. I really enjoy your channel and have subscribed a long time ago. Thanks for all your hard work I know how time-consuming it is.
After 64 years in MA, I moved to and live in Ocean Spring, MS and I love it but I do love Fairhope Alabama. An area’s downtown is what’s important to me. I love Bisbee too 🙂👍❤️
Red Lodge, MT for your thumbnail photo made me watch your video. I visited here from Scottsdale, AZ and stayed 45+ years so far. Always enjoy your videos !
We do have internet in Montana! We’re just too busy fighting off grizzly bears and laughing at tourists trying to pet the fluffy cows (aka Bison). There are so many Gateways to YNP. Gardiner, MT is the only one open year round though. My favorite though, is Livingston, the original Gateway to Yellowstone National Park.
While nowhere in Colorado is a hidden gem… telluride is not a hidden gem. Ouray on the other hand is telluride for normal people. All that money in telluride and you don’t even get ac. You do get naked hippies on bikes 🤢
Mt. Dora Florida, I was so surprised. I have alot of family history there. My Mom and Dad met there, and I have alot of family from there, some family still there after generations. We use to visit there every year when I was a kid. (I was born in Eustis by a midwife near by) My family migrated to NYS when I was 2, so NYS is home, but the memories there are fondly remembered.
I have been to three of these towns. Sitka, Eurika Springs, and Levenworth. My wife and I took our honeymoon to Eurika Springs 25 years ago. We still have the t-shirts we bought.
Yes, please, a video about National Historic places would be interesting. My wife and I love your informative and often showing very beautiful places videos. Thanks 😊
Very cool list! I think it might be interesting to also do a list of the states that had the most cities voted for. Maybe even a series where each video explores all those cities are listed in order for each state.
I'm so glad Eureka Springs made the list. I was there 3 weeks ago for an Open Water Swim Challenge in Beaver Lake. Eureka Springs is sooo beautiful!!! 😎🥰🥳
The reason Montanans didn't vote for small towns is not because of no internet, it's because once a nice small town is out there, everyone wants to move there. We want to keep our small towns SMALL. Come and visit..... then go home.
Have you ever been to Virginia City, NV? Your canned aerial footage shows only the lower half, newer part of town. You missed all the historical buildings, saloons, courthouse, schoolhouse, Boot Hill, mine, train, wild horses, etc. what a shame.

Thanks for this amazing video! from these towns I like most Galena / Illinois, Wallace / Idaho, Bardstown / Kentucky, St Michaels /Maryland, Guthrie/Oklahoma; Jonesboro / Tennessee, Abingdon / Virginia, Skaneateles, Lititz, Woodstockand Harpers Ferry (West Virginia). The only place I miss here is Portsmouth in New Hampshire, in my opinion the most beautiful town in the US. Hi. I'm in Tennessee and Leapers fork is one of the cutest smallest most expensive town, that I know of, but it's actually a real gem. There's hundreds of tourists walking through every weekend. It's just outside of side of Franklin Tennessee south of Nashville.
Hi, Briggs..., One small town that stands out in Montana is: Philipsburg, Montana * "Sunset Magazine" did a feature on beautiful small towns in each state within the United States, and ( Philipsburg, Montana ) came out Number 1 in the United States ! ! * Once again, the residents have painted the entire main street in beautiful different colors and shopping, restaurants, hotel and saloons are stunning to say the least. * Whitefish, Montana is another small beautiful town, except it is simply too expensive to live in this area because one of the best "Ski Resorts" in Montana resides there and for the rich and famous, and a lot of movie stars live here... * Philipsburg, Montana is completely the opposite and one beautiful small towns in Montana and the United States... I lived in Kalispell Montana very close to White fish it seriously is so amazing!! I wish we could go back but it was expensive. My husband was a navy recruiter there , that was the only reason we got to live there
Canandaigua NY is a nice place! Right by the lake, Sonnenberg Gardens, lots of street shopping and restaurants, breweries 🍻 Every year they add lots of flowers to the center isle, it's beautiful. Just be careful crossing the street, they'll run you over 😅
It’s nice to see you wearing White Sox apparel, Briggs, after the lousy season they had, breaking the MLB record for number of losses in a regular season. Have a great evening and see you in the next video!
Small town in Washington i loved was St. John, WA. population was only about 500 people. Great little town after living there for a while but like many small towns, if you were not born there you will always be an outsider. But still a very easy going little town with no street lights or stop signs . Definately no traffic since the streets roll up at 6PM . But they do have some nice town events several times a year.
Solvang would get my vote, had I voted. When I was in the CA National Guard, I would go up 101 right through/near Solvang to Camp Roberts for my 5 day drills. Solvang is really nice.

The entirety of Connecticut isn't stuffed into Bridgeport, Hartford and New Haven. Most of the rest of the state is pretty rural. Brownville, NE is a pretty nice town with a lot of tourist interests. The Spirit of Brownville dinner river cruise is always a good evening. There's good golf in the area too. I've played about 18 of them if I remember correctly. It's actually Brownville, but everybody calls it Brownsville. Don't know why, but maybe because it slips off the tongue easier.
Dude..... Two things to remember .... Stockbridge, Ma... ARLO GUTHRIE wrote a song about Stockbridge.... Alice's Restaurant. Also, just a word about Beaufort, SC.... MCAS Beaufort...large Marine Air Station... largest employer in town..
Shack had a house in Mt. Dora! Quaint little place! It’s actually a little hilly there! We actually considered moving there, but the coastline is just too attractive!
As far as Nevada is concerned, there’s not an abundance of small towns to choose from. Virginia City is a nice, historic little town, but Boulder City to the east of Las Vegas is probably the most charming and uniquely located little town in the state. Beautiful, historic and geographically separate from bigger nearby cities such as Vegas and Henderson.
I have a negative view of Connecticut because I used to live there. Thank God I moved to NC in 1984. I also would have picked Waynesville as the best small town here in NC.
Briggs, where are you getting your stock photos? What is shown at 29:37 is NOT Lambertville NJ. There is no city skyline anywhere near there - it's a sleepy little historic town on the Delaware River. Once again, NJ is being misrepresented.
I haven’t been to weatherford since 1977 when I spent six weeks their in a summer science training program at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, which was nice, not on my top list, but it was where I saw Star Wars when it opened, so there is that. 😀

Hawaii: Kailua, Oahu. Love our ocean side town!
I don't consider Kailua small. Sorry!😢
Wallace Idaho is where the 1997 movie Dante's Peak outdoor scenes were filmed.
@@MrJedi5150 Nothing wrong with that..... lol
Virginia City is an ice box in winters. Also there is no rentals. IN WINTERS IT OFTEN GETS SNOWED IN. 😮
Briggs, where are you getting your stock photos? What is shown at 29:37 is NOT Lambertville NJ. There is no city skyline anywhere near there - it's a sleepy little historic town on the Delaware River. Once again, NJ is being misrepresented.
Yes, thank you for pointing out what looks like the NYC skyline behind Lambertville. I was like, what the heck? Briggs?
As a Washingtonian, the first town that came up for me is Poulsbo, but Leavenworth is grand---and larger.
One of the shots you have for Hermann, Mo is actually a shot from Washington, Mo.
I would recommend Weatherford in Oklahoma. Weatherford is a college town and has a vibrant downtown.
I haven’t been to weatherford since 1977 when I spent six weeks their in a summer science training program at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, which was nice, not on my top list, but it was where I saw Star Wars when it opened, so there is that. 😀
Red Lodge beautiful area, but Big Fork is amazing. Sitting on the north shore of Flathead Lake and just 30 miles from entrance of West Glacier.
Enjoy your videos, however Beaufort NC is pronounced “Bow”fort. 👍 keep up the good work!❤
