A really lovely way to remember Julia, and as time goes by Julia’s positivity in the face of death is inspiring..she was my oldest friend, we were children, teenagers and young people together, and then as adults heard news from afar throughout her life, visiting Newcastle with both of our small children, and the beautiful memories I have through the photographs I took of her as teenagers..it’s great that you’re keeping her words alive in this way and that she inspires so many such as Hannah...
I loved this, Hannah. Your poems next to Julia's were wonderful. It was also nice to think about her tonight. She had an enormous influence on me as a poet (and was my mentor when I was writing a play back in the 90's) and I was proud to call her a friend. She was a remarkable person,. It also reminded me that she had black horses with purple feather plumes at her funeral...she really did know how to die, that one. xx
