You've made a grammatical error when describing 2 to the exponent 3 and the other powers. It is not 2 to the 'power of 3'. It's 2 cubed or 2 to the exponent 3. What's the power? The entire base and exponent is called a power.So 2 cubed is a power. Check it out.
I find it odd that you explain base 10 counting after they are supposed to understand exponents. Shouldn't this be taught along side long addition? Sincerely curious as to why this is the case.
Hi James! This video is intended to help students understand what we mean when we say our number system is in base 10. I am assuming the viewer already has an understanding of arithmetic and are connecting what they learned as a young child (place value) to the base that we operate in. Hope that helps!

THE DIVISION of the hour into 60 minutes and of the minute into 60 seconds comes from the Babylonians who used a sexagesimal (counting in 60s) system for mathematics and astronomy. They derived their number system from the Sumerians who were using it as early as 3500 BC.

Good point, that's why I'm here -- from an IT class that looks are calculating deci to binary to hex. Google around, binary makes odd sense ahaha
