It’s great that Alfa have found their way back to making great drivers’ cars .. first with the Giulia and now with the Stelvio. Nice review .. your enthusiasm is obvious!

8 months in and I LOVE IT! Amazing handling, agility and acceleration. Not to mention I like cars that have character and didn't find that in the competitors.

What type of engine did you choose and how is the maintence so far if you still have it ?

@@angelnikolov7479 We have the "normal" engine here in the US. The 2liter turbo 4cylinder, 280hp. Not a diesel or the Quadrofoglio V6. Absolutely no issues at all. The Giorgio platform is flawless and exciting to drive. Only maintenance has been for software updates and regular oil change.

This is an amazing SUV. Test drove one the other day end it drove and handled amazing. Better than a F Pace. The engine is stout too. Love

JohnnyV The infotainment unit “died” one fine day. It was a known design issue and the dealership replaced it for free. They were great - replacement part showed up in 2 days and then the replaced it on the 3rd day, all the while giving me a loaner Giulia. Other than that the car’s been perfectly reliable - no other issues whatsoever. Driving this car still makes me smile almost each time - on the whole I love it. Glad I got to experience such a nice handling SUV. My friend who has a new X3 was also impressed by the handling. :)

I love that Alfa. I’ve owned two Alfa’s before, both great cars. The last one I owned in Dubai was a 147 and it was a fun car, and very reliable, much more reliable than my Mercedes I replaced it with. I had to laugh at the Navigation display. I grew up near 41st and Cypress, and Angus Drive was where my best friend lived. I always watch your videos and note how familiar the streets look, now I know why.

@@Motormouth... keep up the cool car reviews! I'm living in the Philippines at the moment, but when I head back to Vancouver I'm going to get a Stelvio
The 2020 models have some upgrades to the infotainment system and some interior features. The Kia Telluride is also a great vehicle, but an entirely different proposition. Maybe my wife can drive the Kia and I'll drive the Alfa. The Kia can tow a camper as well. Our kids would love that.

    I test drove it.
PRO: fun, huge discounts, zippy after 1st gear, fast zf transmission. Great handling. Comfortable ride.
    Nice interior.
CON: turbo lag, paddles were too big and got in the way of using the turn signal stick, rear view mirror
had a frame and looked old, the rear looks like a $25k Mazda CX-5, is Alfa Romeo going to be able to stay
    in business?

    • @JStryker7
      @JStryker7 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

You must have some pretty fat hands then. I've never had issues in my Giulia. Also, I'm not sure about the turbo lag. The transmission is geared towards efficiency. If you shift yourself there is no issue.

Discounts are huge averaging more than $7K for the Ti. I hope they're reliable, but I don't think they'll do well in the U.S. and will lose money. Buying used could be scary.

Hey Zach. Another awesome, informative review. I'm looking to purchase (possibly) the 505HP output version this Oct/'18. How would u compare this to the X5 or X6 M version, the Cayenne Turbo or the Benz GLE 63 version?
The Lambo is gorgeous (Urus) but I won't spend over $230K CDN. I'm not that frivolous with my money.
Yes I'm aware that those are a little larger and more HP output but I'm more concerned about ride quality (comfort) and straight away "Wow I'm in the Indy 500" reactions.
I will haul jet skiis and snowmobiles.
    Don't like the Tesla X.
    Luv the X5 tailgate feature.
Thx and keep up the great work with your team:-)

5,000 miles on my Giulia so far. Not a single mechanical issue and it runs like the day it left the showroom. I did bring it back for a cosmetic issue when the stitching on the dashboard came undone for about 1/4" and a rattling passenger headrest. Dealer repaired both under warranty.
After owning 4 Mercedes Benzes, 1 BMW, 2 Audis, 2 Jags, 1 Lexus, I am NOT planning to return to any of those brands as long as Alfa continues down this path. Not to say that they're bad cars, but the Alfa is that much better for a driving enthusiast like myself. My wife's Porsche Cayenne (our 5th Porsche) and the Giulia seem to fulfill all our daily vehicle needs.

Hi there just for records no way that Audi is better reliable than. Lexus. No way this news is true. Remember I am 27 years mechanic and I have seen it all. Just 3 weeks ago I had Audi A7 with 82 thousands km anti freeze going in to the engine that’s mean. Head gasket and valves Never. Seen this on a Lexus with that km Trust me Lexus IS the most reliable car on the road Thanks

I really *want* to like it! I do! It's an Alfa! but....I dont. I think it looks awkward and I find the interior is uninspiring. It just feels like such a missed opportunity. I know it looks 'different' but eerrm not in a good way? Personal opinion of course but...not for me.
